Through intense, almost trance-like states, Mushroom explores the concepts of control and manipulation. Two concepts that, despite their governing form, have limitations, which is how the concept of compromise is revealed between the significant and the absurd. What are we sacrificing for other people?
FREDAG 29. APR.
Mushroom is a powerful musical statement and work that mixes instrumental theater, performance, scenography, video and electroacoustic music. A work written for seven specific musicians and the composer, who together have determined the instrumentation of the work. It is the preliminary first artistic meeting between Scenatet and James Black and together they create James Black’s greatest work to date.

Gennem intense, nærmest trance lignende tilstande, undersøger Mush room begreberne kontrol og manipulation. To begreber, der trods sin styrende form har sine begrænsninger – og her støder vi på kompromis. Det der findes mellem det betydningsfulde og det absurde. Hvad er det, vi ofrer for andre mennesker?
SØNDAG 1. MAJ
Mushroom er et kraftfuldt musikalsk udsagn og værk, som blander instrumentalt teater, performance, scenografi, video og elektroakustisk musik. Et værk som er skrevet til syv specifikke musikere og komponisten selv, som tilsammen har determineret instrumenteringen af værket. Det er det foreløbige første kunstneriske møde mellem Scenatet og James Black og sammen skaber de James Blacks hidtil største værk.
