YAMAHA HAS RETAINED THE TALENTS OF GARRETT GERLOFF FOR THE 2022 WORLDSBK SEASON.

Yamaha Motor Europe has offered Garrett Gerloff a one-year extension on his current racing contract that will have the American racing in WorldSBK through the 2022 season.

Garrett Gerloff is the only American competing in the WorldSBK and is having a very competitive and successful season, thus far. His best result this season was the British round at Donington Park, where he finished second. Gerloff also finished second at the Aragon round. Additionally, Gerloff made his MotoGP debut with the PETRONAS Yamaha SRT team, standing in for the injured Franco Morbidelli at Assen.

"I’m really excited to have signed this contract with Yamaha to continue with them next year. I’ve had a great time in Europe the past year and a half, and I’ve been really happy with the progress I’ve seen within myself, the GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team and the Yamaha R1. We’ve made serious steps forward already this season, allowing us to consistently challenge for the podium, but I know there is more to come. We have been so close to that first win, within touching distance at Donington Park, and with the support of Yamaha and the team I'm confident we can do it before the season is out." - Garrett Gerloff.

VR46 COMMITS TO A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH DUCATI TO COMPETE AS A SATELLITE TEAM, BEGINNING IN 2022.

VR46 commits to a three-year contract with Ducati to compete as a satellite team, beginning in 2022.

The Aramco Racing Team VR46 is set to compete in MotoGP's premier class as an official Ducati satellite team beginning in 2022, with Pablo Nieto in the role of Team Manager. The three-year contract between VR46 and Ducati follows the announcement of the five-year contract between VR46 and Dorna Sports.

The VR46 Riding Academy's mission, for the last eight years, has been to raise and nurture the talents of young Italian GP riders through the lower classes with the goal for the young ones to eventually arrive in the premier class. "We are happy to announce that in 2022 we will race in MotoGP with a Team of two riders in the colors of the VR46. A journey that began just over eight years ago with the beginning of the VR46 Riders Academy, a beautiful adventure shared with Sky, a long and demanding journey, but full of satisfactions and which makes us very proud. This milestone has a truly unique meaning, but it is not a point of arrival. Year after year, since 2013, we have grown, we have managed to write some beautiful pages of our sport between Moto3 and Moto2 and we have crossed our path with many young talents of Italian motorcycling that we have had the privilege of being able to support in their growth path and that we will continue to support from the lower classes up to MotoGP key moment in our history that would not have been possible without Carmelo Ezpeleta, who has always believed in this project, and to Ducati for the trust it has placed in us roped for the future." - Alessio Salucci, VR46 Riders Academy.
