Michael Caselli iGaming Business Editor in Chief Michael Caselli has been involved in the online gaming industry since 1996 when he completed his Masters work at the University of London (Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine) analyzing the viability of gaming on the Internet. Following his academic career he became a writer and consultant for the online gaming industry advising strategies for start-up online casinos and terrestrial casinos considering their future in online gaming. In 1999 Michael Caselli founded Lyceum Publishing LLC, which produces and publishes the Internet Gaming magazines “Online Casino News” and “The Gambling Daily”. Lyceum Publishing LLC is a daily content provider online gamblers and the online gaming industry. Lyceum Publishing LLC provides information to approximately 3 million readers monthly. In 2000 Michael was appointed Editor of “Gambling Online Magazine”, the first print magazine dedicated exclusively to Internet gambling. Gambling Online Magazine is distributed throughout the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia. Gambling Online Magazine is the market leader and most widely read international online gaming print publication in the world. In 2003 Michael also took on the role of Managing Editor of iGaming Business, a trade magazine for the online gambling industry. iGaming Business is read by terrestrial and online casino professionals and offers operational, management, marketing and legal columns to help them run their interactive gaming businesses more efficiently. iGaming Business is the premier trade publication in the industry. Also in 2003, Michael took his experience in iGaming publishing and applied it to mass media markets. Michael co-founded Lyceum Media, an iGaming specialist PR and communications company, positioned as an iGaming information gatekeeper to mainstream/mass media. Clients have enjoyed coverage in US, UK and other European media including major newspapers, magazines, television and radio. In 2004 Michael co-founded the poker publication Bluff Magazine. Michael serves as editor of Bluff, and helped grow the publication into America’s largest and most popular poker magazine. Bluff has since expanded its brand throughout the poker market and into other media including the Bluff Magazine Poker Hour, a US nationally syndicated poker radio show. Michael Caselli is considered one of the world’s leading experts on online gaming and has served as chairman of numerous International forums and conferences that focus on interactive gaming throughout Europe, Asia and America.

Kevin Roberts Editorial Director, SportBusiness Group Kevin Roberts is the Editorial Director of SportBusiness International which he helped launch in 1996. Since then he has overseen the development of the monthly magazine as well as Sportbusiness.com, the world’s leading on-line source of information about the business of sport, and a specialist customer publishing service. Kevin was previously a director of Plus Public Relations Ltd in the UK and cut his teeth in the business of sport in the early 1990s. As deputy director forcommunications at CPMA group, he was involved in projects including the 1991 Rugby World Cup, and the World Student Games. He has written for a variety of UK and international publications and is a media spokesman on a variety of sports media and marketing issues. He has chaired and spoken at numerous international conferences including theInternational Olympic Committee’s Conference on Sport and New Media, the General Association of International Sports Federation’s, SportAccord, the FT Sports Marketing Conference, Marketing Magazine Sports Marketing Conference, the Australian Leaders in Sport Conference and various editions of Sportel in Monaco and Miami. Kevin combines his role with SportBusiness Group with wide-ranging communications consultancy within sport.


SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES Paul Scotney British Horseracing Authority (BHA) Director of Integrity Services, Compliance & Licensing Paul Scotney is the Director of Integrity Services, Compliance & Licensing for the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and has held this post since 2003. Prior to his appointment he served for 27 years as a Police Officer in the Metropolitan Police and Cambridgeshire Constabulary his way up to the rank of Detective Chief Superintendent. Paul is responsible for a department of 55 staff whose primary function is to protect the integrity of British Horseracing by investigating and deterring malpractice or corruption within the sport; licensing the sport’s participants, and the prosecution of horseracing corruption cases. In recent years Paul has provided advice and guidance to a number of other sports including Tennis and Football on how to tackle betting related corruption in sport. Paul has also spoken extensively on the subject of betting related corruption in sport including two appearances at the European Parliament.

Matt Cook Senior Marketing Manager The Sportsman Media Group Matt works for the Sportsman Media Group, a sports rights and marketing agency whose core business is the acquisition and distribution of media rights and the marketing and handling of sponsorship projects. He most recently ran the sponsorship acquisition and activation at Sportingbet and previously at Rank Interactive, promoting the Blue Square, Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casino brands. Matt started out in the football industry after gaining an MBA in Football Industries, leading to roles at the Football Association and Nationwide Building Society, working across sponsorship deals with the England team and the Football League. Matt specialises in the strategy and activation of sponsorship relationships and is a strong believer that sponsorship and support activity, when selected and activated correctly, can help meet any number of company objectives, even in these difficult financial times.

John Luff Founder Sustainable Marketing John specialises in helping organisations identify and promote their brand and corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability credentials. John is a frequent speaker worldwide on the topics of brand, marketing, CSR, sustainability and communications. He Founded UK based Sustainable Marketing in 2004. Previously John was Head of Global CSR and Head of Global Brand for BT (British Telecom). In these roles he helped BT achieve its 3rd top rating on the DOW Jones Sustainability Index – the first time BT had achieved this on a global basis. He developed the brand positioning for BT and its joint ventures worldwide. He is proud to have lead BT sponsorship of the Global challenge - “The World’s Toughest Yacht Race” Other senior roles have been in the fields of occupational psychology and organisational development. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Prince of Wales Business and the Environment programme. John is an associate faculty member of the British Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Founding member of the Superbrands CSR Advisory Panel, a judge for the Green Awards and Responsible Marketing advisor to the World Lotteries’ Association. Recent/current clients include the World and European Lotteries Associations, the UK Treasury, the world’s largest retailer, one of Europe’s largest shopping Malls, major financial institutions, major construction companies, sponsorship advisors, Business Schools, telecoms, IT and TV brands, cities, government and global sustainability organisations.

David Stubley Kameleon Director The first ten years of David’s career were spent in television holding marketing positions with ITV and for six years as Head of Commercial Development at Channel Four. The second fifteen years, have been spent leading consulting teams within both the WPP Group and Fast Track, advising brands and rights owners on marketing strategy and rights negotiation. Recent clients have included Aviva, Sony, Procter & Gamble, Vodafone, HSBC, Ford, Jaguar, SAB Miller and Clipper Ventures & ICC. Today, David is a Partner of Kameleon – the sport &entertainment content agency he helped found in 2008. He is also Chairman of HEGO TRAC, the sports technology company famous for capturing real-time sports data for clients such as FIFA, ATP, NFL & La liga. David is married with three daughters. He holds a business studies degree from Bristol University and MBA through the Open University.

Mike O’Kane ESSA

Chief Bookmaker/ Board Member Mike joined Ladbrokes in 1975 as a Trainee Shop Manager after finishing at University. He progressed through the organisation becoming Retail Operations Director in 1998. During that time he was responsible for the 2000+ retail betting shops operated in the UK and Eire. In 2004 he became Trading Director responsible for all business channels; Retail, Telephone and Internet. As Trading Director he managed a team of market makers and traders, circa 120, covering all sports/events both in the UK and Ireland. In 2011 he was appointed Business Director responsible for industry matters specifically horserace fixtures and funding, trade bodies and sports betting integrity.

Lee Richardson ONEworks Director Currently director, Europe of ONEworks, the marketleading Asian-based sportsbook provider. Former marketing director, British Horseracing Board, has also held senior CEO/COO roles with Tote Direct, Coral-Eurobet plc, Chartwell Games International and Boylesports. MBA from Strathclyde, and Fellow of the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Christian Kalb Management consultant Christian Kalb is a management consultant, specialist of the sports organizations and the gaming industry. Very involved in the defense of the sporting values, Christian is a consultant for sporting federations and for gaming companies that “respect the rules”. He is also involved in cycling (vice-Président délégué for the French professional cycling League) and in different associations. Christian Kalb holds a MBA from the HEC Group (ISA) and an engineer degree.

James Earl Senior Associate Pinsent Masons LLP James is a highly experienced member of the nationallyrecognised Sports team, and has built up a unique type and level expertise in the UK and international sports industry. He is highlighted in the current Legal 500 directory as being “a tough but pragmatic negotiator” and someone who provides “succinct, fast and accurate advice at the right cost” (Chambers). Dual qualified in Australia and England, James oversees a specialist commercial rights and event management team and leads on delivery of the team’s non-litigious sports work. He is also particularly recognised for his substantial work and experience relating to the design and implementation of innovative sport finance deal structures.

Colin Burrows comScore Senior Account Manager Colin Burrows joined comScore in 2007 and is part of the Account Management team managing a network of clients including major UK publishers, advertising networks and advertisers. Prior to comScore Colin spent 4 years at MediaTel working with advertising agency and media owners subscribing to the MediaTel planning and research tool.

Keith McDonnell CEO Kmigaming.com Keith McDonnell is CEO of kmigaming.com, a service provision business in the global online betting & gaming industry. He is also a stakeholder and member of the Board for industry businesses - totelfootball.com and Yobetit. Prior to this, McDonnell spent 12 years in the industry with positions including Head of Online for the UK Tote, Managing Director for Tote Direct, Managing Director for Bodog in Europe & Asia and Global Head of Affiliates for William Hill. Responsibilties over the years included bottom line P&L accountability for major brands and commercial oversight of major deals including sports sponsorship.

Vange Kourentis Sports Revolution Group Commercial Director Vange is the former Head of Business Development at Manchester United. During 8 years at the club he managed a portfolio of key partner relationships and activated them globally. Amongst other things Vange provides a profound understanding of the inner workings and commercial imperatives of football clubs and leagues.

Jon Watts MTM London Director and co-founder Jon Watts is a Director and co-founder of MTM London, a specialist provider of market research and analysis, strategic advice and practical support to companies in and around the media, technology and communications sectors. Jon has nearly 20 years of professional experience, working with and advising the senior management teams of leading media and entertainment companies. His recent clients at MTM London include the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, BSkyB, NBCUniversal, Disney, Discovery, Yahoo!, GoogleYouTube, AOL, Red Bee Media, NESTA and Olswang. Prior to co-founding MTM London, Jon worked at Spectrum Strategy Consultants for six years, co-founded fathom, and worked as an independent consultant with leading UK media companies, including Virgin, Emap and Pearson. Jon graduated from Cambridge University in 1993 with a 1st in Social and Political Science and an MPhil in Social and Political Theory.

James Grigg Fanatix Director James has built his career in the sports and digital media vertical. Prior to joining fanatix, James was Distribution Director at Sportech PLC, one of the largest suppliers and operators of Tote/pool betting solutions in the world. James was responsible for third party relationships with bookmakers including Ladbrokes and Finsoft. James began his career as a Consultant at TMT specialists Spectrum Strategy Consultants, based in London and latterly Hong Kong. In the role, James worked as trusted advisor on growth and commercial strategies to several of the world’s leading telecoms, media and technology companies and regulators, including: BT; the BBC; Perform; IMG; Sony Pictures; and Ofcom. James has experience of several global markets having worked on projects in the UAE, Turkey, Eastern Europe, China and Malaysia
