REFERENCE To whom it may concern, I have personally known Candy as a coach for over five years, helping her firstly as a young middle school student who was a talented multi event athlete , thrower and triple jumper, to the Candy of today an outstanding yet still developing senior high school student. Candy was a standout student academically and brilliant sportsperson at middle school, this combined academic and sport success culminated in her gaining a scholarship to Bromsgrove School, one of the UK's leading private academic and sports institutions. Candy , is an excellent academic student with a fine array of GCSE results , as an athlete she has developed into an intelligent , hardworking , tough and talented thrower. Her progress and training over the last five years , with an emphasis on hammer and discus , was planned to be a controlled steadily evolving programme concentrating mainly on the development of a sound techniques that would be the basis of her career as a senior athlete. Candy the competitor has a fine collection of athletics awards with county championship medals from 2010 in a wide variety of events from pentathlon , triple jump to shot discus and hammer, Candy has competed successfully at regional and national level with her 7th place at the 2015 UK Athletics championship being her most notable performance to date, ( hammer 50.95 6th ranked English athlete) 2010 to 2014 went as planned with steady developments in hammer and discus, 2014/15 season though still showing some progress was tough for Candy , technical work was disrupted primarily due the fact that I was unable to coach for long periods due to ill health, but she showed her self-determination and dedication continuing to work hard and achieve some exceptional results. Candy's progress from 2010 can be viewed on the power of ten, it will show you an dedicated very intelligent athlete who not only works so hard , is a great team player but is also an athlete who has an exceptional understanding of her events, who understands that the development of a long term individualised programme combined with great technique takes patience and time. From 2015 onwards Candy will have a dedicated team working to make sure that she gets the very best opportunity to develop all aspects of her throwing , a team determined to give Candy the best opportunity to succeed . The Team. Paul Chapman Technical Coach . Over 46 years of teaching , lecturing and coaching experience , has been an adviser , university head coach and national coach in a number of countries including Nigeria ,Japan, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom . Will be responsible for making certain that Candy develops a modern technique that is personal to her, a technique that will be the basis for her development as a senior athlete. The development of her technical prowess will be essential to not just maintain her steady progress but to make her truly competitive at all levels. Mark Hill Lead Coach. Brilliant teacher /coach based at Chesterfield Athletics Club has produced one of the best Academies in the UK. Has worked with Paul Chapman for the last four years and together they have developed a powerful throws team .Mark will coordinate Candy's programmes and will share work with Paul Chapman on technical areas of all the throwing events. Bromsgrove school . A reputation as one of the leading schools for academics and sport in the U.K. They will continue to provide Candy with a splendid learning environment which will give her every opportunity to succeed academically, plus they will be able to offer Candy a superb strength and conditioning programme . As a young athlete Candy has not been involved in a heavy weights programme so the next two years should see a significant development in her strength and conditioning with I am expecting a commensurate increase in training loads , Improved technique and of course serious progress in all her throw distances.

The team , Candy, parents , all concerned will be working to achieve some realistic base goals for 2015 to 2016. For 2016 , if there are no mitigating circumstances and winter training proceeds as planned we expect to achieve the following distances, which is an approximate 15 percent increase on 2014/15 distances, this should be attainable as due to two main reasons, new strength conditioning programme and major advances in technique . Hammer (4kg) 50 metres . Discus. 35metres Shot. 11.50 metres Javelin. 30:00 metres. 2016/7 will be evaluated at the end of 2016 season . What does Candy offer a university programme? 1. A serious student who has a fine academic record who works very hard and is highly motivated. 2. A dedicated intelligent athlete who trains hard is great to coach is a committed team player and someone who will consistently produce results. Candy is an exceptional young woman who will be a fine athlete and student , I have absolutely no problems recommending Candy as a student , athlete and person to any university programme. Yours Sincerely Paul Chapman.
