Dear Sir/Madam, Chloe has enjoyed a considerable amount of success in the field of hockey throughout her school career. She has played a hugely pivotal role in cementing The Coopers’ Company and Coborn School as the most consistently successful state school in recent years within the sport. Her playing ability in conjunction with her leadership skills are exceptional and result in her being a figurehead for her peers and younger students alike. Her successes are innumerable, however highlights include; six national schools finals including one national title; five national club finals including three national titles; Saxon Tiger representation at England Hockey Futures Cup; selection for England Hockey High Performance Centre; and England Hockey National Age Group Academy. Whilst performing with such success at junior level, Chloe has combined this with playing for Old Loughtonians Hockey Club 1st XI in the National League. As an individual who has reaped the benefits of most notably the NAGS Academy in the past year she has a good level of understanding of the requirements to progress further in the sport. She is extremely coachable and is able to listen to constructive criticism and then act upon this in a positive manner. As a coach and umpire to younger students she has a unique and intricate understanding of the game from all angles at such a young age. Chloe has outstanding technical ability in all facets of the game. Most notably her tackling is unparalleled on the national stage as exhibited time and time again when playing at the very highest level. Her ability to read a game is exemplary and enables her to influence a game in an incredibly positive manner whether it is making a crucial tackle, distributing the ball to initiate an attack or scoring a goal. She is highly influential in both defensive and attacking corners due to her calm nature and ability to analyse opponent’s movements. She is a truly exceptional indoor hockey player, which benefits her technique in the outside game hugely. Whilst Chloe’s skill level is entirely apparent to all who watch her, what cannot be seen is her commitment and passion for the sport each and every day. As School Hockey Captain and School Sports Captain it is universally believed by all physical education staff that a team with a Chloe Menear in is highly likely to win irrespective of the challenge ahead of them. She is a unique individual who has the total respect of her peers and consistently leads by example. Her organisation, communication and social skills are exceptional. Her teams mirror her attitude and consistently play to the very best of their ability whilst enjoying themselves. Having had the pleasure of teaching, managing and coaching Chloe for seven years I unreservedly recommend her as an addition to any team. I strongly believe that American College life is an opportunity that she will embrace in every aspect.
