Personal Statement

Welcome by Gabriel Radus Personal Statement My name is Gabriel and I am a goalkeeper for City of London School (CLS), Belstone Football Club and England Independent Schools FA (ISFA). Since I could kick a ball, soccer has been my true passion, and since I was 10 I set my sights on playing in the US on a soccer scholarship. As deputy head boy, vice captain of my school's first team and deputy chairman of our extremely successful Charity Committee at CLS, it is clear to see that my teachers, sports coaches and fellow students see me as a very responsible person with leadership qualities that allow me to work with others in a team, whilst improving and bettering myself in the meantime. To any team I would bring team spirit, increasing the collective strength of the team, discipline and ultimate commitment, and a huge desire to win, as I truly believe my drive and determination has contributed hugely to who I am today. I hope to hear from you soon. Gabriel

Reference

To whom it may concern, I definitely think Gabriel would be a good candidate for the US. He has been a thoroughly committed member of the school's football club since joining aged 10. His development and performances earned him a debut in the school's 1st XI (U18) aged just 15. Last year he went through a lengthy trial process and was selected to play for the England Independent Schools U16 side. He played against various academy sides before going on tour to face Sparta Rotterdam, VVV Venlo and Breda in Holland. He has aspirations of being selected for the England U18 team next season. He is a fit, strong and agile athlete with quick reactions and good shot-stopping ability. He is very good with his feet too and is developing a wide range of distribution techniques. He is happy to play out of the back and to play direct with the ultimate aim in keeping possession or creating a goal scoring opportunity. At just under 6 feet, academies have felt him too short to became a professional and he has worked hard to improve his ability to deal with crosses as a result. He will be vice captain of the school's 1st XI next year and has been heavily involved with developing the younger player at school whilst working through his coaching badges. He is very passionate about football and is always keen to learn. I hope that this is of use. If you have any further questions, please get in touch. Best wishes, Jono Santry PE Department Head of Football City of London School 020 7489 0291
