Why a college coach should choose you? What can you bring to a college? Why do you want to attend university in the US? I often find it difficult to explain to people why I love running; they struggle to understand that success emerges not from good intentions but from competition. For me it comes down to the simple idea that the more pain you are prepared to endure, the more successful you’ll be. Of course, to a college coach this is all obvious- hence why I’m desperate to learn from them. However, what I believe makes me unique is my relationship with pain- I love it. I love the searing burn of lactic acid on the last lap, I love collapsing with exhaustion at the end, but the best bit is that it doesn’t get any easier, you just go faster. I apply this philosophy to all aspects of my life and over the past two years I have reaped the rewards, more importantly, however, I feel the incredibly competitive yet unbelievably rounded nature of college life is perfectly suited to helping me to continue to do so.
