Personal Statement

Welcome by Kai Hanley

"My name is Kai and I play in midfield for Hampton School, NPL Football Club and England Independent Schools FA (ISFA). I have been playing football from an early age and, having been born in New York, have grown up dreaming of one day returning to the USA in order to play soccer and further my education. My recent experiences of playing in the national England ISFA team, and being vice captain of my successful school team, have enabled me to develop the leadership skills that I believe are an important part of all successful teams. It has taught me the importance of working with others, motivating and helping my teammates, whilst also constantly pushing myself to develop technically and athletically. I am a naturally left footed player that likes to attack, but am as proud of my assist record as I am my goals scored. I enjoy being a part of successful teams, I have a burning desire to win and like to take responsibility. I like to lead and motivate others and believe that I could bring these skills to any team that I were to be part of in the USA. I work hard at my studies and seek to excel both academically and on the sports field. It is the possibility of continuing to do both of these that particularly excites me about being part of an American University. I would welcome the chance to discuss the opportunity to be part of your team in more detail. I look forward to hearing from you. Kai"

Reference

Kai Hanley - Reference Kai is a very talented footballer who offers a great deal on and off the pitch. As an U16 player last season he impressed in many areas, he demonstrated technical qualities such as close skill with the ability to beat a player. He was consistently able to produce crosses from wide areas that attacking players benefited from and appreciated. As a wide attacking player Kai consistently was able to score he fair share of goals, some of which were spectacular. His work-rate and fitness have always been very high and enable him to play at a high pace an intensity. All these qualities enabled Kai to play consistently well for the School’s U16A side that went on to win the Surrey School County Cup. Kai also was invited for a 6 week trial at Crystal Palace and has represented the ISFA U16 England team. Plus in the second half of the season Kai broke into the Schools very strong 1st XI which went on to have an extremely successful season. Kai continues to perform at a very high level and is an important part of the 1st XI, with his qualities, experience and fantastic attitude he certainly should continue to develop into a very impressive player. He is now demonstrating strength and very clever decision making to add to his games, which really makes him a force to reckon with on the football pitch. Kai’s attitude to training and preparation is extremely positive and encouraging. As a coach and a teacher it is very enjoyable to work with players like Kai and I feel very confident that he and the players around him will develop and continue to progress and improve. It is a real pleasure to coach and observe Kai, I’m very positive and confident about Kai’s development as a footballer and as a young man, and I am always thrilled when he is on the football. Thank you, Mr Mills
