I started playing at the age of 8, I was the only girl on a boys team before gradually moving onto a girls team at 12 years old where I've gained a reputation in my league since then as the one to watch out for on corners as this season I've netted 7 from them. I have the most pride from being selected for a Ladies First Team at the age of 16. Since I've joined, my confidence with the ball has grown, something which some defenders struggle to gain. I feel self motivation, hard work and determination to prove people wrong enabled me to get there.

It has been my pleasure to know and to have helped coach Rian over the many seasons that she has played for Wyrley Juniors Girls Football Club. Rian is an extremely talented footballer who is totally committed to the team and never gives less than 100% effort in both training and on match days.
Rian’s ability, dedication and desire to compete have led to her selection as full time team captain for the last two seasons, when previously the responsibility was shared between team members.
In addition to representing our team, Rian stepped up to play in a variety of positions for our Open Age Ladies First team when she reached the age of 16. This is a wonderful achievement as she now regularly comes up against women who are physically stronger and more experienced. Rian is certainly not intimidated and is more than equal to the challenge.
I am extremely proud to have Rian Mullen play football for Wyrley Juniors FC and Rian should be equally proud of the respect her ability and personality have earned from her coaches, watching parents and most importantly from her fellow players.
