*On loan with Karlsruher SC for the 2021-22 2. Bundesliga Season Sporting Kansas City announced the signing of forward Tyler Freeman as a Homegrown Player late in the 2018 season. A native of Shawnee, Kansas, Freeman is the secondyoungest player in club history behind current teammate Gianluca Busio. He entered the Sporting KC Academy in 2014 at age 11 and has represented his hometown club at the U-12 through U-19 levels. Freeman made an immediate impact upon joining Sporting KC’s youth ranks, leading the U-12s at the 2015 Generation adidas Cup before winning Kansas State Cup titles in 2015 and 2016 with the U-13s. In August 2016, Freeman propelled the Sporting KC U-13s to a fourth-place finish at the CONCACAF U-13 Champions League in Mexico City, scoring three goals at the tournament. He featured extensively for both the U-17s and U-19s in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 Development Academy season.

On the international stage, Freeman earned his first selection to the U.S. U-14 Boys’ National Team for a training camp in November 2016. The following June in Zagreb, Croatia, he led the U.S. U-14s with a team-best four goals across three friendlies. In 2018, Freeman competed for the U.S. U-16s in April at the Torneo Delle Nazioni in Italy before receiving his first call to the U.S. U-17s in August for a Costa Rica training camp.

Sporting Kansas City signed striker Wilson Harris as a Homegrown Player in October 2020 after he spent two and a half seasons with Sporting KC II in the USL Championship, scoring 23 goals in that time. Harris becomes the 13th Homegrown Player to emerge from the Sporting Academy, and the eighth on the current roster. He made his MLS debut on May 12, 2021 in a narrow loss at Houston Dynamo FC. Harris became the youngest USL Championship player to eclipse 20 career goals in 2020. In three USL Championship seasons with Sporting II, Harris has started 39 of 56 appearances and averaged 0.64 goals per 90 minutes played. The forward bagged a team-leading eight goals under head coach and longtime Sporting midfielder Paulo Nagamura in 2020 while playing in every game of the abbreviated 16-game season. Harris was the top-scoring teenager in American professional soccer in 2019, finishing the year with 12 goals in 25 USL Championship appearances. His dozen goals - which included a run of 10 strikes in his final 11 appearances - equaled the league’s singleseason record for a teenager. After joining the SKC Academy in 2017, Harris inked his first professional contract for Sporting KC II the following year and ended the 2018 USL Championship campaign with three goals in 15 games.

A native of Los Angeles, Harris had prolific stints in the Seattle Sounders FC Academy and Real SoCal Academy before moving to Kansas City. During the 2017-18 season, he led the Sporting KC U-19s with 18 goals in 17 league appearances. On the international stage, Harris has represented the United States at the U-16, U-18 and U-20 levels.
