THE FIGHT
OF OUR LIFE
At long last the highly anticipated Blockbuster bout between Floyd Mayweather & Manny Pacquiao is set for May 2nd. With early estimates that revenue from the event could top $400 million, Floyd Mayweather is set to earn upwards of $150 million which would give him the highest yearly annual earnings of all time. As much as we would have loved to see these fighters go at it in the peak of there careers, their talent and skill certainly hasn’t wavered. And, with the richest payday in history on the line you can bet that each athlete will turn in their best performance.
REWIND
MANNY PACQUIAO The Pacman is now 36 years old and went a bit off the boil a couple of years ago. His peak was clearly around 2008-2011, in which time he beat Oscar De la Hoya, sparked out Ricky Hatton, KO-d Miguel Cotto and beat Shane Mosley comfortably on points. At that stage in his career, Mayweather wouldn’t go near him with a 10 foot pole as he would have been facing him at his absolute prime. Since then, Pacman got KO-d in 2012 by Juan Manuel Marquez in one of boxing’s big upsets. Marquez was a big underdog going into the fight, but managed to connect with a punch happy Pacman on too many occasions and found he had the power to stop Pacquiao in his tracks. This seemed to signal the end of Pacman’s peak and the feeling of vulnerability still remains, even after 3 points wins on the bounce. Back in 2008-2011 when Pacman was walking through fighters, you could see him potentially
negating Mayweather’s skills by just blasting him out of there, but now it seems he will have to engage in a boxing match and there will only one real winner if that happens.
FLOYD MAYWEATHER Mayweather is now 38 years old and this fight appears to be the battle of the veterans, which fighter has maintained his speed and ability to take a punch. Mayweather comfortably beat young contender Saul Alvarez, but he had much in his favour as he insisted that Alvarez come down a lot in weight in order to make the fight happen. This has been a notable strategy in Floyd’s career, however he won’t have such advantages in this fight. With so much at stake and pride on the line, both boxers will be weighing in at 100%. Mayweather has fought Maidana twice on the bounce in recent fights, with Maidana giving him an absolute pounding in the first
fight. The second fight was more comfortable and Mayweather did what Mayweather does best in controlling the range and beating his opponent comfortably enough without over-committing himself. If Floyd can utilize his tactical defence and hold off Manny’s aggression and power he will put himself in a great position to take this one the distance.
FA S T F O R W A R D
Pride and precision. That’s exactly what to expect to see on May 2nd. What is being deemed the fight of the century and has taken seven years in the making with the entire world watching on, both fighters will be in tip top condition. Yes, they’re not as young as they once were, and yes, neither fighter has knocked anyone out since Mayweather in 2011 and Pacquiao in 2009, it doesn’t seem to matter, as this is the blockbuster event of their careers. An extraordinary fight will be witnessed, and one that has been well worth the wait. Manny will be charging with aggression, power & speed while Mayweather will be looking to utilise his sharp defensive tactician skills. Statistics and form show there will be two likely scenarios, Manny will knock him out and give Floyd is first career loss or this one will go the distance and Mayweather will win on points with his defensive strategy. Either way bring it on!

Kentucky Derby prep races concluded with a smashing performance from American Pharoah, who likely assured himself the favorite’s role in the 141st Kentucky Derby when romping by eight lengths in the April 11 Arkansas Derby. Either we witnessed an incredible talented 3 year old or one of

DERBY FACTS FOR THOUGHT
of us were leaning towards Dortmund prior to the Arkansas Derby, Its now evident that the 2-year-old champ has the ability to give him a serious run for his money. Either way, both horses are prepared to give it their all and this year’s loaded Kentucky Derby is bound not to disappoint.
• Winners at 10/1 or less win 80% of the time over history • Only 14 Derby winners (10%) have won at odds of 20/1 or higher. • Post 17 has yet to yield a winner. 18 and 19 have only done it once each. • 80% of derby winners since 1970 have finished 1st or 2nd in final prep • Since 1875, the favorite has finished off the board 39 times (27%) • Since 1980, the favorite has finished off the board 21 times (60%) • Average field size: 18751980 = 11.48 • Average field size: Since 1980 = 17.91
With Champion trainer Bob Baffert already with one hand on the trophy, the last question remains can he beat the great curse of the Storm Cat. No descendant of Storm Cat has yet to win a Kentucky Derby. This years runners include • American Pharoah (Dam Side) • Carpe Diem (Sire Side) • Conquest Typhoon (Sire Side) • Dortmund (Dam Side) • El Kabeir (Sire Side) • Firing Line (Sire Side) • Mr. Z (Dam Side) • Stanford (Dam Side) • Tencendur (Dam Side) For me I think he can. I’m tipping American Pharoah to go all the way and give the Triple Crown a shake.

AUSTRALIAN RACING
REWIND
The 2015 Sydney Carnival provided us with an exciting yet eventful April as it drew to a close after a stellar 21 Group 1 races were run and won over the carnival. As always Sydney racing provided us with plenty of drama, wet tracks, interesting track ratings, programming concerns and the overcrowding at Randwick. For those of you who made the effort to get off the couch and enjoy the action live it was baffling to see why the ATC spent $150 million on a grandstand that can’t handle 10,000 spectators. Having checked the crowd number in the paper after day 2, it seemed very similar to Flemington on Cup Day with 150,000+, yet there was only 24,000. All that aside, there was quality on the track. With 5 stars on offer this year,
racing NSW can claim it as a huge success. Highlights included Vancouver’s victory in the Golden Slipper when he sat three wide at Rosehill. Giving Gai the honor of equaling her father the great Tommy Smiths record of 5 golden slippers. Then we have the brave Pride Of Dubai, the winner of the Blue Diamond and Sires Produce, we can safely say Australian Racing is blessed with a quality pair of twoyear-olds that we hope will continue racing to provide such a standout and dominating performance in the future. Another memorable moment was the stand out performance of Criterion wining the Queen Elizabeth. When he shot to the front on the long Randwick straight under Craig Williams he was a sitting duck to be gobbled up, but he responded like a true champ and kicked away to win by 2 1/2 lengths to collect the group 1 silverware.

HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD THIS SEASON: 4-0 HAWKS
HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD THIS SEASON: TIED 2-2
THE NETS: Notably the worst defensive team in the playoffs. They are also terrible at defending the threepoint line. Atlanta is the strongest 3 point shooting team in the NBA.
THE CELTICS: The Celtics are brilliantly coached by Brad Stevens, but we must remember their only wins against the Cavs this year came when LeBron James and Kevin Love played 26 and 30 minutes, respectively. The other came when James, Love, and Kyrie Irving all sat out.
THE HAWKS: Atlanta is more vulnerable than their No. 1 seed suggests, but still to strong here. The Hawks limped into the playoffs, but they beat the Nets by an average of 17 points per game in the regular season.
THE CAVS: Have had the best record in the NBA since January and are currently gaining momentum.

HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD THIS SEASON: 3-0 RAPTORS
THE BUCKS: Had an unfortunate 11-18 after trading point guard Brandon Knight for Michael CarterWilliams, and their already lousy offense has fallen off a cliff without Carter-Williams.
THE RAPTORS: They’ve been top 10 in offense, bottom 10 in defense and gone 26-31 since the All-Star break after an impressive start to the season.
THE BULLS: The X factor of Derrick Rose, how many minutes he can withstand and does he stay healthy? Neither team scored more than 95 points in their four regular-season matchups which doesnt happen in the playoffs if Rose is at his best.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS (1) vs. NEW ORLEANS (8) HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD THIS SEASON: 3-1 WARRIORS
THE WARRIORS: Having a historically dominant regular season, the Warriors are a well deserved strong favorite for the sweep here. THE PELICANS: Falling into the playoffs after an incredible buzzer beating back in April from Anthony Davis. In his two games against Golden State this year, Anthony Davis averaged 29.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks. He might need to do even better in order to upset the Warriors
WARRIORS IN 4
HOUSTON ROCKETS (2)
vs. DALLAS MAVERICKS (7) HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD THIS SEASON: 3-1 ROCKETS
THE ROCKETS: Dwight Howard has barely played this year and both Patrick Beverly and Donatas Motiejunas are out injured. This leaves a lot riding on James Hardens shoulders, which so far that hasnt been a burden for him at all. THE MAVERICKS: If Rick Carlisle figures out how to take away Harden’s dominant offense, lookout. Rondo needs to step up and play his best for the Mavs to have a chance.

PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS (4) vs. MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES (5)
HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD THIS SEASON: TIED 2-2
HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD THIS SEASON: 4-0 GRIZZLIES
THE CLIPPERS: Holding the second best record in the league after the All-Star break, their athletic front court is the type that can give the Spurs problems, if can they finally step up post- season.
THE GRIZZLIES: So much depends on the health of Mike Conley and Tony Allen. If they can play close to 100%, Memphis will be looking good, but they’ve struggles down the stretch without them.
THE SPURS: Holding onto the fourth best record since the All Star Break, San Antonio will be heavily relying on depth and experience to shut down the Clippers, which is a little disappointing they meet so soon post season.
THE BLAZERS: An unfortunate string of injuries has devastated the Blazers. Losing their best wing, Wesley Matthews, as well as backups Arron Afflalo and C.J. McCollum leaves them with little depth. Too much rests with their forwards.

→ FA CUP REWIND
ASTON VILL A 2-1 LIVERPOOL
Tim Sherwood has been quoted as saying that Liverpool was “bamboozled” by Aston Villa’s tactics in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final. The Villa's coach asked his players to adapt to a short passing game at Wembley Stadium with 19-year-old Jack Grealish as their fulcrum. The ploy paid dividends with a 2-1 victory. Liverpool set the tone early with a 1 nil lead thanks to Philippe Coutinho who opened the scoring after 30 mins for Liverpool. After that they appeared to struggle with Sherwood's match plan tactics, with Sherwood saying, "We were the underdogs, but we believed in there that we could win it and I think we bamboozled Liverpool to be honest". Aston Villa did an incredible job to keep control of the football, creating opportunities which eventually resorted to Liverpool bombing the
ball into Aston's area in the last 10 minutes, leaving the game up to chance. In just six minutes after, Christian Benteke went on to equalize with a fantastic goal. Fabian Delph later did the honor of putting Aston Villa in front after a barrage of missed opportunities, he was finally able to get a hit the back of the net.
in sadness when the excellent Adam Federici let Sanchez’s tame shot slip through his grasp in the 106th minute. It was a dark reminder of football’s cruel tendencies. Reading’s road to Wembley, via away trips to Huddersfield, Derby, Cardiff and Bradford, at least hinted at the resilience that would serve them so well.
The former Tottenham boss praised 19-year-old local, Grealish for his contribution, playing alongside Charles Nzogbia in support of powerhouse striker Christian Benteke.
Arsenal will now defend their FA Cup title next month, but were made to fight for their final berth by a committed and confident Reading side.
"The bigger the stage the better he plays. He relishes it and he's a great talent,” he said.
ARSENAL VS READING Forever and a day this will be the one that got away for die hard Reading fans. After what could only be described as a terrific exhibition of football, it was painful to watch as extra time followed and the epic exhibition ended
Alexis Sanchez fired the Gunners ahead with a 39th-minute strike, only for Arsenal fan Garath McCleary to pull the Royals level. Arsenal’s approach was very familiar, as they waited patiently in possession for an opening. Impressive with their approach and keeping the crowd on their feet, they go to Wembley on May 30, 2015 to defend the trophy.
FA S T F O R W A R D SATURDAY MAY 30 2015 ARSENAL VS ASTON VILLA
Arsenal will be solid favorites to go back to back and all the pressure will be on them in the leadup to the Final. This will be the first FA Cup final for Aston Villa in 15 seasons, however unfortunately this season the Gunners have beaten them 3-0 and 5-0 and are 13 places above them in the Premier League table. Despite that Aston Villa were fantastic in beating Liverpool whilst Arsenal fell over the line against Reading. Lets hope both sides can stay fit and healthy for a great Football game on May 30, 2015.

TEAM LINEUPS
REWIND
2015 MLB Season is off and running. As most Seasons there is a few surprise packets early, but in general it takes us a month or so for everything to calm down and get a good guide of the year ahead. Lets take a look at some early trends, that are good, bad and outright disturbing.
KANSAS CIT Y ROYALS The defending American League champion Kansas City Royals had three incidents that have caused the benches and/or bullpens to clear out this season. Three. Through just fourteen games. The Royals, well Ventura in particular, have shown an early season propensity for overreacting. If it continues, they ought to expect more suspensions, and if Herrera makes good on his headhunting promise, there should not be a place for him in Major League Baseball. They appear to be
carrying perhaps a serious ego problem after winning the World Series...
CHICAGO CUBS The real deal. After they hunted and landed Jon Lester last off season, it was an unmistakable signal that the team planned to contend in 2015. There display of youth talent, particularly in the batting order, is working and live on showcase to see. The average age of there last starting nine was 26 years old, a force to be reckoned with going forward. Other notable movers and shakers are teams like the Milwaukee Brewers who have face-planted out of the gates, there are also squads like the New York Mets that have shattered expectations thus far. The big question is whether the Mets and others will be able to sustain their strong starts

30 teams playing 162 games each equals 2,430 games in just the regular season alone. The motto "no need to rush". As a general rule I like to wear the spectator cap for the start of the season, let the dust settle before you pull out your wallet. Middle of May we should start to see more consistency and regular averages to make $$$ calls.

2015 FRENCH OPEN SUNDAY, MAY 25–JUNE 7
REWIND
The king of clay....Rafael Nadal for a decade the red dirt has been the Spaniard’s best friend, during which time he has become the finest clay court player the game has seen. Of his 65 career titles, 46 have been on clay, most recently the Argentina Open in February. And of course, at Roland Garros he is the first player to win the same Grand Slam title nine times, including all of the last five. Quite extradonary form one might suggest, in fact his Roland Garros record now stands at a sparkling 66-1.
FA S T F O R W A R D ROLAND - GARROS MAY 24-JUNE , 2015
Novak Djokovic after his latest victory over Tomas Berdych in the Monte Carlo Masters final, has notched his 17th straight win and became the first man to pocket the opening three Masters titles on the calendar, Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo – in a single season. Add to that he also won the Australian Open in Melbourne in January, the Serb will head to Roland Garros a very confident and short favorite.

Certain sportsmen and athletes have the ability to capture the hearts of sports fans by simpling executing the same skills they've nurtured and practiced there entire life. It's doubtful that there is a person in the world that could argue a more well deserved green jacket recipient than Jordan Speith. The 21 year old from Texas led from pillar to post showing raw ability and confidence well beyond his years. The rest of the field strategically waited for Speith to show signs of weakness, but instead they were made to watch on as the Texan continued his dominating performance and stretched his lead to make history.
Crediting much of his success and level head to his younger sister who suffers from autism, Jordan Speith has said, "I love having her around. She's an incredible sister, my biggest supporter. She is somebody who you can watch and then reflect on the big picture of life and understand that all these frustrations in a day, or in a round of golf, are really secondary." There are moments in sports that are memorable and powerful in our minds. The handwritten note, written by a 15 year old Jordan Spieth thanking the people who had given him the opportunity to work towards his
dream. As he said in 2009, "I play in the Jesuit golf team & i am ranked the number 1 junior in the country, it is my DREAM to win the Masters". Jordan, we congratulate and thank you!
HOW HE WON The Green Machine. In 72 holes, he had 37 one-putt greens, made two putts of more than 20 feet and seven of more than 15 feet. On putts between 3 feet and 10 feet in the Masters, Spieth made 32 of 42 attempts. The putter steered him to a Tournament record 28 birdies & equal Masters Course record of 18 under par.

WH AT WE KNOW.
From this years with the Masters, unless you had an outright winner bet on before the start of the tournament there was very little to no value to be had with the leader running away with it. The winner was proven at Augusta, a 2nd the year before and in form. Unless you had money on the champ before round 1 you were always chasing. It must be acknowledged why you are betting, is it just a hobby, or do you view it as an investment? Some punters may have had bets placed in the hopes of Jordan getting run down and caving to the pressure. However, from an analytical stand point, after round 1 as an investor you couldn't have a bet with every indicator in the young mans favor. BELLS BEACH
Wow, wow, and more wow. The Margaret River Pro delivered us the best event window for swell we have seen in some time. WSL Commissioner Kieran Pierrow was given the luxury to sit back and eye ball the peaks of the swell, giving the world's best surfers the best waves possible. With two event options, Traditional Main Break and the introduction of The Box, we were assured highlight reels for centuries.
April was an epic month of surfing for fans and enthusiasts around the globe. With back to back contests run and won at Bells Beach and Margaret River its time to take a look at how they were won and the ratings leaderboard after the extensive Australian leg.
Tricky conditions and devilish onshore flow were the theme for the contest. This set the foundation for a very even playing field, which resulted in some early major upsets for stop number two of the Samsung Galaxy World Tour. Round 5 exits for tour veterans Kelly Slater and Joel Parkinson left them both pondering their 2015 title campaigns, with two throw away results from as many events. Eventually it would be a work horse like effort from 3 time previous Bells Beach Champion Mick Fanning who was forced to surf in every round to claim his 4th Bell. The event wasn't without controversy though, as was seen in the final with Brazilian Adriano De Souza in tricky conditions that ended in a tie. Fanning broke the heart of the Brazilian winning on a count back with the highest wave score of the final. It was to be Mick's day, a 4th Bell for the trophy cabinet as well as leveling former great mate Andy Irons with 20CT wins.
M ARGARE T RIVER PRO
The box was on fire in early rounds, a steep square right hand hollow barrel made conditions tricky for the goofy brigade, but provided some insane tubes and wipeouts. Local boy and wild card winner, Jay Davies was a standout, taking out current WSL ratings leader Mick Fanning as well as reigning World Champ Gabriel Medina. Others stepping up to the gnarly conditions included Owen Wright and Kelly Slater who both looked disturbingly comfortable early on. Having 2 completely different wave options made picking winners tricky, with one being a steep square tube and the other a clean chunky open
SPORTS:SURFING
faced wall for some serious man turns. It didn't matter where it was for crowd favorite, John John Florence, as he excelled in all conditions barely kicking gears as he marched his way into the final. There he would meet the new WSL rating leader Adriano De Souza who was desperate to put the disappontment of Bells behind him and dedicate a win to his late mate who tragically passed away, Ricardo Dos Santos. The stars aligned for Adriano with John John having the highest heat wave. Ultimately, it was Adriano's consistency that found him taking the win. His consistent rail work thoughout the entire contest was outstanding and now after the Australian leg, he finds himself in the coveted yellow jersey.
*NOTE: TEAM VS. INDIVIDUALS The Brazilians after last year's
breakthrough domination of Gabriel Medina almost seemed to be an entire team on tour vs. a group of individuals. The feeling is almost infectious, as they egg each other competing for the biggest airs in the craziest sections to charging the biggest barrels. Nicknamed, The Brazilian Storm, as so it was by the end of the Australian leg they have by technicality 3 wins, with Felipe Toledo taking out Snapper, Adriano De Souza having a controversial tie at Bells and a win at Margaret River.

THE WINNERS
Freo way to go! The Fremantle Dockers remain the only side undefeated after round 4. They haven't done it easily either, beating touted top sides Sydney, Port Adelaide and West Coast. The only cause for concern from the top side from the West has been their second half fade outs. Lookout though if they figure out how to put four quarters together. Ross Lyon and the boys are off to a stellar start to the 2015 AFL Toyota Premiership Season and find themselves already rewarded by being the early front runners and third in line in betting to win the flag. Melbourne, the Dees after a catastrophic few years started their 2015 campaign off singing the song. After the first 4 rounds, are now 2-2 with wins over the Gold Coast and rivals Richmond. The Dees kicked off Anzac weekend in style, led by Jesse Hogan, rookie Aaron Vandenberg and captain Nathan Jones as they beat the Tigers by a comfortable margin of 32 points. The Dees are clearly developing under the guidance of coach Paul Roos and showing signs of improvement and potentially rewarding loyal fans after years of heartbreak and disappointment.
THE LOSERS
Very hard to believe that only a month ago, the Gold Coast Suns were being touted as a top eight side and the Brisbane Lions were named this year's greatest improver. We're not too sure if they've been getting too much sun in beautiful Queensland, however they've both started the season with the worst performances and find themselves at the bottom of the ladder both with 0-4 records. The Suns were outright embarrassed last week against the GWS after showing signs of improvement against the Cats a week earlier. They have a foundation of a well oiled machine, but are struggling to put it all togother. Meanwhile, an hour north the Lions were no better playing at home against West Coast. Not only were they seriously challenged for scoring options up forward, but more importantly they were only able to move the ball into the forward 50 a dismal 39 times. Their now highly rated midfield group was soundly beaten by the Eagles and will need to step things up heading into next week's match. The good news for Queenslanders is that they won't have to wait much longer for their two teams, with the worst records, to go head to head on May 2nd.

GRILLING SEASON ARE YOU PREPARED?
.
Whether it's the enticing first bite of that juicy, succulent burger that awaits, game day grillers, or perhaps just the peace & quiet of the good old outdoors grilling season is not to be missed. No matter if your in flip flops & board shorts or a Raincoat & boots the grilling shall continue.
GRILLERS GUIDE TO THE ULTIMATE BURGER
1) THE BEEF.
5) GRILL.
For the ultimate juicy burger be sure to buy 80% lean beef.
Lightly salt each patty and grill until droplets of juice appear on the raw side, then flip. Cook to your liking try resist the urge to go for the spatula press, this will only lead to loosing those tender juices.
2)SH APE THE PAT TIES. Make loose quarter pound balls then flatten to a half inch thick. Don't pack too tightly or the Burgers may end up tough. Make a slight indentation in the burgers center to stop it from bulging as it cooks.
3)TOOLS. First things first, it's just about politically incorrect to grill without a beer in hand. It's a safety thing. How else will you tame that rogue flame? Grab your favorite beer & stubby holder and grill essentials as a spatula, tongs, grill brush and basic utensils.
4) PREP THE GRILL. Crank the heat on high for the first 3 minutes then bring it back to a halfway medium flame. This will give you the perfect sizzle to heat ratio.
6)ACCESSORIZE. Lightly toast the bun, add crisp dry lettuce to prevent the bun from getting soggy. Add thinly sliced red onion and tomato. Finally, melt a slice of cheese on the patty just before it's ready to be served. Note: for a extra crunch and flavor, add the secret ingredient, beets to your burger. Two thin slices of beets adds the perfect texture and extra crunch. The Misses will love it so much she might just invite her friends over. Cheers to many more hours over the open flame!

Breakfast in bed is always a thoughtful idea, but why not give your Mom the gift of a nice sleep- in and leisurely morning. Take her out to a stylish brunch at a favorite trendy cafe. If your doing it right you'll have to make reservations in advance but what better way to start her special day than with a yummy brekkie and a some bubbles.
Pre-book a favorite spa treatment scheduled for a few hours after brunch. When you give her the gift certificate, it's an extra thoughtful gesture to then let her know you've already taken the liberty to book her time. This shows dedication to her, your commitment and planning of the day, and she just might know that you've also tactifully booked her spa session to be the same time as kick off off your favorite game. Two birds with one stone = winning.
If you're looking to nail it, something thoughtful is always better than practical. It could be something symbolic to your relationship or something you cherish doing together. Personalized gifts from engraved jewelry with a sentimental message to a big gift bag of all of her favorite beauty products will always keep you in the good books. WH AT TO DO In order to fully evoke the spirit of the Derby weekend, it’s essential to arrive in town town a few days prior to race day. It’s recommended to arrive on the Wednesday afternoon, allowing for enough time to get your finest suit pressed, shoe shined and enjoy a sunset cocktail. Thursday is a day to truly take part and ground yourself in the rich and storied history of race. What better way to do this than indulging in some world famous Kentucky Bourbon. A full day tour of the legendary Kentucky Bourbon Distillery will
set you back $209 per person and includes a guided journey through bourbon in the making, tastings and a gourmet lunch. This rich tradition and proud history will leave you with a lifetime of appreciation for every bourbon you sip on from here on out. Friday is the legendary Oaks Day and Saturday is the main event, the moment you’ve been waiting for. Be sure to arrive early in order to secure your viewing vantage point, as gates open at 8am with the first post at 10.30.
WHERE TO WEAR Bring your A game for the Derby. Although fashion on the field and glamorous big hats are for ladies, a suit and tie are the only appropriate attire for the gentlemen. Have fun adding some Southern charm with a hat, adding some pastels, a suit vest, or seersucker fabric or stripes.
M ANSCAPE 101 TIP: Clean cut & shaven is the only way to rock the suit to impress that very special filly!
HOW TO BE T Large race meetings such as the Kentucky Derby are rich with talent and value. To ensure you are able to place your best bets and pay outs on race day, the last thing you want to do is be the desperate punter waiting in the betting line, potentially missing the big win. You’ll have a line at the bar, for the toilet, and then for a bet. Play smart. Open an online Bookmaker account which you can have downloaded on your smart phone for no hassle betting and often times even better odds. No lines, no hassles. Be smart, do your homework, allow for change and bet with a goal!
FIND A FILLY. Let’s face it, races are filled with gorgeous girls, dressed up and looking for some playful indulgences. Just as you back a winner, plan accordingly. Timing is everything, as nobody wants to find their lady date before race 3. This will just lead you to hanging out with her friends, perhaps being worried about drinking too much and quite possibly looking like a degenerate. Not to mention, what has now happened to the weekend with the boys? Spend the day soaking in the atmosphere and spirit of the races while ever so slightly scouting for talent later in the day. Got a big collect? Time it right so you’re in line with the lucky lady at the same time, once she sees you and is impressed by your winnings, it’s likely she will approach youwhat better way for a conversation starter. “Wow! Congratulations! Have any tips?” Keep it light and funny, “I’ve got a good thing in the last if you want to bring your friends over come and join us.” Kentucky Derby, it’s more than just a horse race.
