When I started Sportsman's News 11 years ago, I wanted to provide the vendors of Sportsman's Warehouse an avenue to create more demand for their products, more than simply putting them on the shelves of each store. Meeting with buyers and getting your products into the stores is essential to the success of a product as well as a company. However, many companies don’t dedicate enough resources to getting their products advertised or create a marketing plan that generates enough awareness to make it a success. You need customers to come into the stores looking for your product instead of stumbling on them to make it a success. Thousands of products have failed throughout the years because enough people didn’t know about them or have a desire to purchase them. I wanted to provide an affordable resource for all manufacturers selling products to Sportsman’s Warehouse that would help them get more customers aware of their products and ultimately sell more units. Keeping the costs of advertising down is essential for all companies, but it is extremely important for smaller companies that have very limited resources. We are a small business ourselves and I understand how important it is to get the most out of every dollar that is spent. By putting Sportsman’s News at the entrance as well as the exit of every Sportsman’s Warehouse store, we have been able to keep our distribution costs down and pass that savings onto the manufacturers. The other benefit of distributing the publication at the store locations is that you have the ability to create awareness and demand for your product when the customers are in the store, where your product is located. Customers consistently come back to the same store for their outdoor needs and taking a copy of Sportsman’s News with them is common practice. If your advertising and marketing, or the product itself, didn’t catch their eye while they were in the store, there is a good chance that they will become aware of it while reading Sportsman’s News at home. This will increase sales at the store level and reorders from the corporate level. This model has worked with our printed version of the newspaper for eleven years. We have now expanded into a digital edition on a monthly basis to complement our printed version. It is emailed to over 1 million readers. Another avenue for exposure is through our website, which receives over a million visitors each year. We also send out a weekly e-mail blast, which reaches over 300,000 customers each and every week. Our annual Sportsman’s News Television DVD sales exceed over 200,000 units. Our very successful video product review campaign reaches over a million customers. The social media side of our business grows exponentially each and every week. We have an active “Web Forum” with over 13,000 members. Every one of these resources is available to the manufacturers that sell products at Sportsman’s Warehouse, at an extremely affordable price. We can tailor a program to use any or all of these resources to best fit your needs. Because of our close relationship with Sportsman’s Warehouse, we have the unique ability to allow manufacturers to pay for their advertising with a credit voucher direct to Sportsman’s Warehouse. This process makes an already affordable advertising price even more attractive.

Getting a product onto the shelves at Sportsman’s Warehouse is a great step towards the success of your product. However, you can increase the amount of pull through with each product by featuring it in the Sportsman’s News “Product Section”. This is a comprehensive marketing strategy for getting the who, what, where, and why about your product to the consumer by getting them to walk into the stores looking for your product instead of stumbling on it while visiting the stores. The team at Sportsman’s News will thoroughly evaluate the product through a rigorous field testing process. We consult with the manufacture and representatives to insure that we are aware of all of the features and benefits of the product. One important factor is that we will allow the manufacturers the opportunity to evaluate the review prior to publishing. The review will be published in a predetermined Sportsman’s News issue. In addition to being seen in 200,000 printed magazines and a million digital editions of Sportsman’s News, we will e-mail your product review to our current e-mail list of over 310,000 Sportsman’s Warehouse customers for $750. The video product review is the next step in consumer marketing. The Sportsman’s News team offers this in conjunction with all other reviews as an additional service. In addition to an editorial review on your product, we will film the entire process and what goes into our field testing process to determine its quality. This process is scripted with the manufacturer prior to the start of testing so that you have an idea of what the finished product will look like. Once filming has been completed, our professional, award winning editors will put together the finished video showing all the features and benefits of the product. As with our editorial review, the manufacturer will have an opportunity to see the finished review prior to release to the public.
