It is common to see some of my clients live with and slowly succumb to illnesses like Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. The key word is “slowly.” A long-term care need is just that, long-term, and an otherwise healthy body can fight Alzheimer’s over years and years.

So what is the solution? That’s the question isn’t it. Every fact pattern is different so there is no global solution other than to meet with professionals to get educated on the topic and see how trusts and LTCI policies can work separately or in tandem to create a plan that will stand the test of time regardless of how long people are living.
