Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kelly Gulley and I am an Area Publisher for the Loganville/ Grayson issue of Spotlight Shopper. I am proud to say that I am a Georgia native and have lived in the Gwinnett area my entire life. I have a wonderful husband and three great children that keep me on-the-go every day of the week, I feel truly blessed. With many years of advertising, sales, and customer service experience, I made the decision to be a part of Spotlight Shopper to use my expertise to become more involved in my own community. I want to know the people and businesses in my area and help promote those businesses to further their success. The smalltown community feeling that Loganville & Grayson each possess, even with the inevitable growth, is what I love and cherish about the area. Spotlight Shopper is a new monthly publication that will be mailed to 15,000 homes in the Loganville & Grayson areas. Our goal for the publication is to focus on the people and businesses within our community. We wanted to give something that would truly connect with those within our area. Our hope is that it will allow businesses to showcase themselves and provide a positive avenue to grow their business, while in turn, giving the residents of the community a vision of what is available to them close to home. WHEN YOU LOOK GOOD, YOU FEEL GOOD Founded in 2009, by Gwinnett residents Sharon Wilson and Beverly Haynes, Nu 2 U Upscale Thrift is a community service oriented establishment that has a passion for supporting local and national organizations that aid women, children and families in need. After both women had lost family members to cancer, they decided they wanted to do something to help in the fight for a cure. Throughout each year, they work to further serve the community by sponsoring local co-op food drives, toy drives, angel food sponsorships, as well as school supply drives. Nu 2 U Thrift’s sister company, Nu 2 U Boutique is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to chosen organizations. Items that are donated to the store are either sold in the store or given to local women’s shelters. Proceeds from the sale of any items are given to the American Cancer Society and Saint Jude Children’s Hospital. The boutique also offers free wigs and cosmetics to women who are undergoing or have completed cancer treatments. Nu 2 U Boutique also actively participates in the local Relay for Life chapter, organizes fundraising initiatives and special events, and supports Partnership Against Domestic Violence. They recognize the needs of the community can be overwhelming for one organization, so Sharon & Beverly feel that through a concerted effort, those needs can be easily met. Therefore, they are constantly seeking opportunities to partner with community-oriented organizations and businesses. This unique shopping experience at Nu 2 U Upscale Thrift store specializes in helping women build their self-esteem by offering them new and gently-worn classic, stylish, trendy and professional clothing and accessories at an affordable price.
