SUMMER CAMP 2017 AGES 5-6 - CREATIVE ARTS CAMP Explore the wonders of art in a playful, stimulating environment offering visual art projects, music, dance, games, and storytelling. Campers will exercise their imagination each day through interactive activities. Discover clay, collage, drawing, painting, and more! No two camp sessions will be the same as each week will offer new and exciting creative opportunities for campers to enjoy. Camp meets daily (except Memorial Day and the 4th of July) from 9:30 am - 3 pm.

AGES 7-10 - PERFORMING ARTS CAMP Learn about acting, improvisation, song, dance, and how to perform before a live audience. Campers will explore how to create characters and costumes as well as prop and set design while learning about stage direction. Teen Art Studio Summer Intensives allow students to espress tehmselves creatively while learning from professional artist instructors. Come explore and experiment with a variety of artistic mediums. DARKROOM PHOTOGRAPHY Learn how to use a 35mm camera, from scratch to finish. Instruction will be given in how to compose, meter and expose photographs. INTRO TO ENCAUSTIC PAINTING Explore the basics of the ancient art of encaustic painting. Encaustic painting uses a wax-based paint composed of beeswax, resin, and pigment. We will review setting up an in-home studio set-up, safety issues, surface options, choosing the right torch, color mixing, fusing with a torch, layering, creating texture and more. Using these basic skills and a gas fired forge you will heat a piece of iron to “red hot” and use the anvil, hammer and tongs to create a beautiful and useful decorative hook. TEEN ART STUDIO: DARKROOM PHOTOGRAPHY - AGES 14-18 NEW! Learn how to use a 35mm camera, from scratch to finish. Instruction will be given in how to compose, meter and expose photographs. Students will need to bring their own 35mm cameras (automatic and/or manual with instruction booklet, if available.) Negatives will be developed and the darkroom magic will begin. Basic printing skills will be taught and practiced, advancing at individual rates, including presentation of a final photo that will be spotted, matted and framed. TEEN DRAWING & PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT - AGES 13-19 A progressive drawing class focused on teenage artists of all levels and an excellent choice for high school AP Studio & Portfolio Preparation students who need to develop their work, focus their skills and are looking to experiment in their portfolios. Registration will be accepted if seats are available, the registration deadline has not passed, and all pre-requisites have been met.
