HR – MYTH VS REALITY FAST COLLAB
Description 
For many of us who work in and are passionate about HR, it could be frustrating to constantly defend the importance of what we do. Some people believe that the role of HR is nothing more than to ensure payrolls submission and maintain important employee details.
Myth – Anyone can be an HR 
HR job is not an easy job and requires a lot of in-depth training. HR activities are based on research and theory. HR professionals are required to master both practice and theory before they can devise strategic policies for a company.
Myth – HR is full of fads 
HR practices have evolved after rigorous research and experimentation, over a time. Every HR professional handles his/her current work as part of a evolutionary chain.
Myth – HR can make my performance review good 
Many employees still believe that the HR can help them in enhancing their performance reviews, but the reality is far different. The HR is in no position to change the ratings given by your manager in accordance with your performance.
Myth – HRs hardly have any work 
Arguably, if we may say so, HRs have the most demanding work in a company. Dealing with people, day in and day out, across backgrounds, skills, aspirations etc. is no easy task. HR handles a variety of duties requiring careful attention and dedication.
Myth – HR can increase my salary 
This is one of the most popular misbeliefs held by many among employees and job seekers. Most internal employees and even candidates believe that the salaries are decided by the HR. Though it is true that compensation ranges are fixed by the HR depending on the type of roles, the actual pay received by employees is dependent on performance ratings.
Myth – It is not possible to join HR from any other function 
It may be feasible for employees from other functions to join Human Resources in some areas of the profession. Junior roles in HR, such as recruiter, can be filled with people from Customer Services and Admin Support as the roles share a few common features. At the senior level, joiners are likely to come from consultancy or operations roles.
Myth – HR function can be replaced by automation software
There are different software for different functions of HR; HR Applicant Tracking System for recruitment function, DocRead for core policy generation, SimpleX for payroll management, Cornerstone for employee performance management etc.
Without denying the fact that these software are immensely helpful in reducing the burden of HR, it should also be noted that they cannot replace the HR. The key differentiators for organizations now are the ability to hire good staff and retain them, neither of which are possible without human judgement.
