THE ART AND SCIENCE LAB
Our philosophy
"DESIGN IS NOT JUST ABOUT CREATING A PRODUCT, BUT ABOUT CREATING A SITUATION."
SRUJANA TATIKONDA
Art and science, are like bringing a fragment of imagination into reality. How beautiful will it be if they co-existed. Design thinking requires inspirations, what a wonder will it be if inspirations come from different backgrounds and ideas flow in the direction of unexpected. There is no limit to creativity and there is no limit to the technology that is being developing in today’s era. The ART AND SCIENCE LABORATORY is a space for creative and radical thinkers to create pandemonium. This laboratory helps innovate new technology with its versatile group of people. The casa sperimentale adds to the moral value, since the architect who built this building was “experimenting” on the depths of which concrete could go up to, tried to engineer his way through pre-cast and domed structures. The building stands quite, in the midst of a calm residential space with lush greens and beautiful concrete columns. The ARTS AND SCIENCE LAB, where art explores a new window.

DESIGN THINKING CREATIVITY IS THE BRAIN CHOCOLATE THAT DESIGNERS NEED TO INNOVATE BEAUTIFUL SPACES AND PRODUCTS. ART AND SCIENCE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TRAVELLING IN DIFFERENT TANGENTS AND HAVE BEEN INTERACTING IN DUE COURCE, BUT MERGING THESE TANGENTS GIVES BIRTH TO SOMETHING MORE THRILLING AND USER CENTERED.

Built over a period of seven years in the 1960s and 1970s by a family of Italian architects, Giuseppe Perugini, his wife Uga de Plaisant and their son Raynaldo Perugini, Casa Sperimentale is an extraordinary built experiment, one that challenged the understanding of what architecture is and how it’s created. With novel construction techniques and an unorthodox design method, the family created an extraordinary elevated house – a concrete treehouse. The Casa Sperimentale is often categorized as Brutalist. However, despite its concrete form it wasn’t born out of a Brutalist agenda and is the result of an alternative approach – a refined, considered, organic and human response to architectural design.
From the 1960s, Perugini was among the first to explore the application of the language of computer programming to the design of buildings. Casa Sperimentale investigated the possibilities for an architecture of rotating structures and prefabricated elements and was of a deliberately unfinished nature. The house comprised several experimental structures: the house itself, a suspended structure formed of a series of reinforced concrete frames, supporting plates of standardized size, divided by glass inserts with a ground level spa/pool; a sphere of 5m diameter in the grounds, with a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom; and the ‘cubes’, a sequence of three 3x3x3m cubes containing two room and a kitchen, separated by two modules of 3x1.5m for the baths. The building consists of four elements that can all be considered individual projects and are quite distinct in what they represent and how they there designed. 1. the house 2. the sphere 3, the guest houses 4. the fence
ELATNEMIREPS ASAC The house, which was once at the centre of an intellectual and bohemian community living in Fregene during the summers in the early 1960s to the late 1970s, has, since its abandonment, been rediscovered by the public via social media as the perfect Instagram geo-taggable location. More critically it is used by urban subcultures as a perfect canvas for graffiti.
The design of the Casa Sperimentale follows the idea of a suspended object inhabiting an elevated position amongst the pine grove, echoing the forest —an irregular structural grid of tree trunk-like columns and overarching concrete branches holding up an architectural canopy. A speculative drawing by the architects shows the structure extended over the entire site creating an endless meandering concrete treehouse complex.
the architect believed that furniture should be a part of the building and not just modular units that can be moved around.

WE DO NOT NEED FURNITURE
Perhaps the architects’ design and construction process can be alternatively read as playing an architectural game. Their son, Raynaldo, calls the house the ‘unfinishable endless house’. Being conceived as an almost Lego-like structure, all wall elements are merely bolted together, they can be removed and reconfigured to create a different arrangement of spaces, allowing different connections between the space and the surrounding site.
EXISTING SITE
THE EXISTING BUILDING IS NAMES THE LAB, IT IS WHERE ALL THE INTRESTING INNOVATIONS COME TO LIFE.
THE SPHERE INTRODUCING ANOTHER SPHERE, BUT WITH MORE TECHNOLOGY INVOLVED, THAT ENTIRE UNIT IS LEFT TO EXPERIMENT AND LEFT AS PIECE FOR CONSTANT DEVELOPMENT.
THE CASA A CASA FOR THE ARTISTS TO LIVE ON SITE AND BE MORE "IN THE GAME."
