KEJETIA LORRY STATION Studio Ghana is a graduate studio of R-MIT [Renovation, modification, intervention, transformation]. The project is situated in Kumasi, Ghana. The goal of the studio is towards spatial and architectural interventions in Kumasi. FLOW OF PEOPLE My analysis is that the character of the city is movement or mobile. I came to this conclusion because all of the facilities and markets are located in the city cernter. The current situation is that the city centre is reaching a deadlock. The flow of people is stagnating. THE SPACE OF FLOWS An attempt to capture the movement of the city to create a momentum. The chosen Case Study is not a destination in itself; instead you are passing by or going through, like a bus station. The project is an attempt to re-create a space for the flows.
This diagram symbolizes the attempt to capture the movement in space. It shows the different movements in the city and the tension between rust (building) and the unpredictability (movement).

REVIVAL OF THE ELSEVIER BUILDING, MASTER 2 ®MIT PROJECT Master of Science and Education: Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences, TU Delft
Concept of the Facade The concept of the facade leans heavily on the analysis of the facade of the old building. The vertical elements are made even more important in the appearance of the new facade. Furthermore the vertical elements made of steel IPE-s have different end highs. Just the vertical movement doesn’t stops but merges into the sky. This effect is enforced by the slanting of the upper floors. These floors are added to give the building more height, like W. M. Dudok’s intention, and accommodate the leisure functions. In addition each function has its own expression. The connection with the park has a recessed facade, behind the construction and the vertical elements. This facade also has a flowing design over 3 floors. The houses are defined in the facade with balconies in front of the vertical elements and the leisure functions are behind the vertical elements in the form of boxes. The facade consists of a double wall to give the possibility to ventilate the houses in a natural way.

Master of Science and Education: Architecture, Urbanism Msc and Buuilding Sciences, TU Delft 1 Hybrid Building;
concept Tree garden
Filtered from the historical analyse why used the tree garden from the old monastry to give the meeting place character. The trees are high fruit trees.
Informal routing
Determined from the entrances of the differend functions (University new building and Library special collection) why difind the routing. These two main routes are pressed in the landscape. The rest follows it. The landscape therefore creats a informal routing. Also by strategic use of hills.
Landscape
opment area
Whe used the landscape to created a garden. The garden connects the urban context whit is buildings to one place. Also it creats the possibility to diffen sub-places like the inner-garden, amphitheatre, meetingplace and lecture rooms. The hils amplify the perspective and use.
Restaurant
Taking the restaurant and placinged in the garden with two extra paviljoens gave our the possibility to structur this. The restaurant lays in the sight of the two main entrances to the area.
Inner-garden
The inner-garden is by nice weater for studying purpos and ase terras for the restaurant.
Building
The building is placed one the border of the site to closed it of. Further to amplify the urban situation. It also creates a new Amsterdam building block. The Nieuwe Doelenstraat gets also more elan whit stores one the ground floor.

LIBRARY THE LOOP, HBO PRE-MASTER PROJECT
Master of Science and Education: Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences, TU Delft
Neighbourhood library with 50 starter houses on the Javaplein, heart of Amsterdam-East. The building serves as an urban accelerator which works by deceleration. The neighborhood must acquire a spot where people come together and meet. A meeting place, however, can only by created if you offer people a place to slow down, to take a rest from the everyday, urban hectic. I interpret the design assignment therefore as a paradox. The most important additive to the urban context are the two squares. The first is the Javaplein that passes into my building and serves as the entrances of the library. The second is the entrance to the apartments. The two squares are framed white gateways. The most important and largest gateway is situated at the Javaplein side. The second is situated at the Molukkenstraat. The gateway to the apartments has the same architectural language as the gateways of the Javaplein, such as the altitude, but is more intimate.
17
LIBRARY The library itself has been designed as a loop (no end). In addition, the continuity in the design is symbolical for timelessness, a theme that every library contains. The entrance to the library is situated on the corner of the Javaplein and the Molukkenstraat and is also the reading-cafe where it’s possible to organize lectures and exhibitions.
The concept for the division of the library contains two routes. The first is the public and fast route, a clear vision is important. The route runs at the street side and has a clear (open) relation with the surroundings. The second route is the concentration and slow route. This route characterises itself by quiet study and reading places. Using this route people go on an adventure through the library which has been subdivided by different altitudes, walking bridge, stages and stairs. The bookcase separates the two routes.
Because of the enormous overpressure of the gateways (+/- 40m) I have chosen to overstrain the construction whit a bridge construction. They also define the facade.

CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD A.U.S.R. ORCA, STUDENT ROWING SOCIETY UTRECHT
As the chairman I was involved in development of a new society building. My study came in handy by the composition of a program and the writing of a briefing for the architectural competition. After the selection process, where I was part of the selection commission, we choose NL architects as design partner. For financing the project I made Mitros [housing cooperation] part of the partners involved in the project. I also independently coordinate the commission, the design process, the finance and the contractor for the indoor rowing installation.

The design assignment for this semester was twofold. The first assignment was to draw up the renovation of a fifteen age Gothic house with new function as a museum . Secondly the extension of the museum the project needed a big hall of a column free 300m2. The detail on this page is from my own design.
