The pursuit of happiness is our greatest mistake. It is an invention of the ego, which believes that everything good is outside. The world doesn’t have your happiness, you do. Until you change the belief that happiness is somewhere else, you’ll only experience a life in which you’re always ‘getting there’ but are never quite ‘there’. Stop pursuing happiness and simply start accepting and allowing happiness to happen.

Pursuit of happiness - (noun) An inalienable right

enumerated in the Declaration of Independence, in addition to life and liberty; the right to pursue any legal activity as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others.

the pioneer #ragstoriches Try typing “pursuit of happiness” on Google. Half of the page is filled with websites devoted to the movie, in spite of the fact that you got the spelling right. It’s no wonder that, in the minds of many people, the “pursuit of happiness” is unconsciously equated with the pursuit of wealth and security. What did Thomas Jefferson mean when he enshrined the “pursuit of happiness” as a basic right in the Declaration of Independence? According to one view, The “pursuit of happiness” is an euphemism for the pursuit of wealth. From this perspective, Jefferson’s vision of happiness was the “rags to riches” version of the good life. but, There is a good chance that we have profoundly misunderstood Jefferson’s view of happiness. Simply put, he could as well reaferd to the cultivation of close friendships, limiting your desires to the essential necessities of life, and rejoicing in the moment. thus, happiness will be yours to keep.

#whatif

That everyday anxiety over making the wrong choice is why having a vast selection of choices tends to make people less happy in general You have that agonizing selection process, repeated over and over again with decisions big and small which not only leads to anxiety, but decreased satisfaction even when we do chose correctly. After all, once you make the decision and get locked in, you never stop thinking "What if."

Is The Pursuit Of Happiness A Bunch Of #Bullshit? written by: galadarling

VOL NO#1 page 14

The problem with constantly seeking happiness is that happiness is an amorphous thing. It is totally intangible. It can’t really be defined, & we all have different ideas of what it means to be happy. For some people, it is financial security. For others, it is freedom & adventure. For some, it is being in love & having a family. For others, it is being completely independent. In some ways, the more we concentrate on “trying to be happy, the further away it seems.

You promise yourself that when you get there you'll #behappy But I promise you that you won't because you'll always #needmore

When you’re just starting out in the world, the pursuit of money & acclaim might be enough to sustain your happiness. When you’re a freshly-minted adult, the search for the perfect mate might make you smile. But once you have a home, a job, or love, we start to need more.

VOL NO#1 page 18

We all know by now that acquiring new things doesn’t make us any happier. Whether we choose to act on that knowledge, however, is another story. Happiness is within reach for all of us. It can be as easy as choosing a new thought, or as difficult as restructuring your life. Small steps do work wonders: I have seen my life transformed by simply making gratitude a major part of my everyday existence. your life.

is it an effective way of distracting yourself from thinking about what is really going on in your life?

Some people go on to find meaning, & consequently, joy. But some people get stuck in those old routines of their past. They think that chasing paper will make them happy - after all, it worked before! Or they get caught up in jumping from one lover to another, or accumulating new toys.

their pursuit of happines

we at poh belive that there are many ways of seeking happines, both as a concept and as an actuall thing, and every day there are diffrent ways of approching this term.

roni for me it's the constant Research of what makes me happy. taking nothing for granted and trying to turn every thing in life to more happy and joyful. for example, most people hate their jobs, I want to enjoy doing mine. doron for me it's the never ending desire after something that we never knew we didn't have. dafi for me it's being ready to take a chance in changing your life Completely, even though nothing in it Requires that change, if only for the chance of something better. avi for me it's going to sleep everyday without regreting over something that is missing. lena for me it's trying to live up to your own Expectations. osi having the Ability to enjoy the little things that creat our reality. odelia it's something that we all think we know how to achive frome the moment we realized that we want certain things in life. but that is exactly what prevents us from having true happines and just thinking about it, whithout really knowing what it actually means. ofer for me it's not a pursuit but an outcome. I know that I have to do what feels right for me and that way happines will Follow without me Chasing after it.

eyal as it may sound, for me it's just being happy with what you got. yakir for me it's when you get fat but don't really care. when people tell you "cut your hair", and you don't really give a fuck. when you feel drunk, and it's from orange juice. when you eat somthing that makes you gassy but you enjoy your own smell. peleg for me it's when I have to chase something, and it never leaves me Satisfied. everything that I chase is Temporary, Materialistic, external and Unsatisfing for the heart. happines will come when I stay firm in one place and fulfill myself. my happines will come when I find my destination in life and Establish my Relationship with god. carmel for me it's the feeling that I have applied myself to the maximum ; being a great Designer, the best sister, the best friend, the best daughter, the best partner that I can be. but then again, something allways falls Through the Cracks, thus making happines somthing that is not absolute. nadiv it's a constent struggle fof not letting your past control your future; it's a day where I am true to myself; and it's finding your soulmate in the jungle of life.
