JULY 2024, WEEK 5 - AUGUST 2024, WEEK 1

Dear Members,

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and welcome so many new board members this past weekend at Pediatrics at the Beach It was thrilling to see such vibrant energy and exciting new ideas from everyone. Conference participants appreciated the Chapter updates and all that we continue to do to support not only children & families but also the physicians and clinicians that provide this care. Thank you to VCU and the conference organizing committee for having us there.

The Advocacy Committee had a great turnout for the trainee/student advocacy training session, VAAdvance. They look forward to hosting more trainings across the state. Please contact Drs. Boardman and Fulton if you'd like them to conduct an advocacy training session at your institution.

A special thank you to Amanda Henry for organizing a delightful dinner where we could chat and get to know each other better It was also a fantastic opportunity to honor Dr CW Gowen for his tireless dedication and support for the Chapter

The purpose of the focus groups is to explore the use of a digital teen suicide intervention by pediatric primary care practices with no embedded mental health services –the idea is for this intervention, ideally shaped by those who would ultimately use it, to serve as a support bridge until a teen can secure comprehensive mental health services.
