ur newest teen fashion model and cover girl this month is Martha Urena of Pharr, Texas. Martha is the 14 year old daughter of Dr. Pilar Reyes Urena and is sister to two brothers, Javoer, nine and Jesus, seventeen. In spite of her youth, Martha exhibits the skills and talent of a mature fashion model. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that she is a member of a district champ track team. (Martha competes in the 400 relay, the 300 yard hurdles and the 100 yard hurdles) nor that Martha holds several titles in UIL drama competition while on the AB Honor Roll at school. Liberty Middle School. Martha sets a good example for other teens by spending a lot of time giving back to her community. Her most passionate community work involves helping children with special needs since she has a family member who has down’s syndrome.

Kyle and I are already looking towards our next project that we will be filming later this fall. Soon I will be appearing in two films, the comedy "Polterguys" and the sci-fi film "Nuclear Family" both due out later this year. hen I first started in this industry, I used to love to be behind the camera. I would do makeup/hair and wardrobe styling. Then I started to wonder what itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s like on the other side of the camera. So, I began contacting local photographers to help me build a portfolio and learn how to model. Most people would tell me the same thing, "You can't be a modelyou are too short." However, I had already fallen in love with modeling and I was determined.

Eâ&#x20AC;&#x2039; ventually, I made my way to Los Angeles. Over and over again I was rejected by agencies. They say,"If you were 5'8' you would be a super model." Well, that was not going to happen. Eventually, I joined an agency and started to book bigger jobs. But even then, someone would tell me that I was too shortfor modeling. Well, since then, I have been agency represented and have worked major campaigns. Just Saying.. I strongly believe that if you have drive and determination, you can do anything. You have to believe in yourself before someone else will believe in you, thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s for sure!

ack in February of this year, a young and talented musician/songwriter from Donna, Texas launched his music career with the new original release of “Any Flow”, a youth inspiring hip-hop tune that got aired on local and regional radio stations (See-Valley Rap Hits New Swing with Jeremiah Jay’s Any Flow-Contempo Magazine, Feb. 2012). Since then, Any Flow and Jeremiah have attracted some heavy attention in Texas and L.A., California.

On August 7th, Jeremiah produced his second music video titled, “Eyes on Me” at the Old Public Works building on Bridge Ave. in Weslaco. The song is an “upbeat rap song on the aspect of reading the crowd.” Contempo chats with Jeremiah after the filming of the music video.. What inspires you to write and perform your music? Music has always been a passion of mine , & getting on stage and performing or in front of a microphone & recording is just an amazing thing/ feeling for me. How did your summer go since we last spoke with you? My summer has been amazing packed with performances all over Texas , Houston , Dallas , etc.. . How many views on youtube did you receive on Any Flow? The views on Any Flow are about to reach 28,000 so I’m very proud of that.
