APRIL - JUNE 2016 0 8 4 4 2 6 4 2 1 4 0 | st j a m e st h e a t re.co. u k

Our spring season opens with a three week run of the off-Broadway musical Forever Plaid. After a car crash brings their performing dreams to an end, a 50’s closeharmony group present their final concert on their way to the afterlife. With a playlist that features some of the best music of the era, and a stunning cast led by Jon Lee, this promises to be humorous and touching show perfectly suited to the intimate Studio. More highlights for fans of musical theatre, Samantha Barks will showcase her new solo show and New York based writers Adam Gwon and composer Drew Gasparini present their respective shows with a host of special guests from the London stage. We are delighted to be part of the fourth London Festival of Cabaret, and hope our programme represents the eclectic range of shows attributed to this genre. From celebrations of acclaimed composers Leonard Bernstein, Anthony Newley and Alan Menken, to a new show from character comedian Sarah-Louise Young. Wendi Peters looks back over her career in an evening of anecdotes and musical favourites, and Jay Rayner swaps the skillet for the stage as he brings us his quartet, featuring the great American food and drink songbook. Mari Wilson, Emily Saunders, Lizzie Ball and the Jazz Divas series return after a rapturous reception in the Studio last year, and we welcome Shapla Salique with her unique take on jazz drawn from her Bengali heritage, and Judie Tzuke with her national sell out acoustic evening of stories and song. Giles Terera tells the story of a homeless musician in his new one man show, The Ballad of Soho Jones, Apphia Campbell presents her solo play Black is the Colour of My Voice, inspired by the life of Nina Simone, and June brings us A Twist of Lemmon. Double Oscar winner Jack Lemmon’s life takes centre stage in this autobiographical play written and performed by his son, Chris. We look forward to seeing you in the Studio this spring.
