October 28, 2022 Good morning, SJA community, Blessings to you on this Friday morning. We write to inform and make you aware of an incident that happened on campus early this morning which involved a non-SJA community member and the Brownsville Police Department. At around 6:45am an intoxicated man drove his car onto campus, which was immediately noticed by the SJA security team. When the driver did not follow the warnings from security, a call was made to the Brownsville Police Department. The SJA security team pursued the driver who stopped and retained the individual until the Brownsville Police Department arrived. The person was arrested, and the school will be pressing charges. Please know that at no time were any SJA students in harm’s way. Please join me in thanking the SJA security team for their speedy response to detain the man and for the Brownsville Police Department for their swift arrival. Student and faculty/staff safety is of the utmost importance to St. Joseph Academy and we will continue to work diligently to ensure the safety of all those in our school community. Should you have any questions about this incident, please feel free to contact the Mr. Motyl, SJA President, at mmotyl@sja.us or 956-542-3581x310.

Blessings, SJA Administration
