Art/Fashion/Design Website

School of the Art Institute of Chicago: Early College Program Summer Institute - High school students who are at least 15 years old and not more than 18 years old and have completed their sophomore, junior, or senior year are eligible to participate in Session 1: Two weeks, Session 2: Two weeks, Session 3: Two weeks, Session 4: Four weeks

UT Austin ST.ART: Pre-College Studio Art Intensive is a four-week program for current sophomores and juniors where students learn new skills, expand ideas, and build their portfolio (photography, printmaking, painting and drawing, sculpture, etc. Students can live on campus in UT residential halls. Savannah College of Art and Design: SCAD offers 5-day Summer Seminars on a variety of topics throughout the summer SCAD Rising Star program offers an opportunity to rising seniors to earn college credit and being their undergraduate careers in a month-long session. Architecture

Carnegie Mellon: Summer Pre-College Architecture - The study of architecture is an exciting multidisciplinary activity that combines design creativity, historical perspective, technical excellence, social responsibility, and global and environmental leadership. The Pre-College Architecture program is structured to introduce you to each of these areas and for you to experience studying architecture in a university setting. University of Houston: From the Ground Up is open to high school students of special promise and ability who will be entering grades 10, 11, or 12 next fall or who will have just graduated from high school this spring. Students admitted to the program must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4-point scale or its equivalent. Program dates: June 20 – July 22, 2023.

National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Business and Innovation: 10-day program offered at Yale University.

U of Houston: High school students from all over the country attend Business Summer Institutes at the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. Open to current 9th, 10th , 11th grade students. Explore Financial Empowerment Institute: June 11-15, 2023.

UT Austin: McCombs Summer Program has a week-long, all-expenses paid programs designed to help prospective students explore and discover opportunities in business while experiencing life as a University of Texas Longhorn.

However, students of all backgrounds are welcome to apply.

College Prep

University of Houston and Rice University: Wonderworks programs in Architecture, Visual Ars, Filmmaking, Theatre, Art History, Creative Writing, and journalism. These programs are open to students who will be in grades 10, 11, or 12. Plus, any student who will be a senior and who completes one of the Wonderworks programs is eligible to attend ADMIT ONE, a 5-day college essay-writing and counseling workshop. Harvard University: CyberMath Academy offers online summer camp in Advanced Middle and High School Math, Algebra 1 and 2, and SAT prep. Details on the website. Early Registration (with tuition discount) April 1, 2022. Program dates: July 6-30, 2023.

Duke University: Duke Pre-College Programs provide academically motivated middle and high school students with rigorous learning experiences. Building on the legacy of Duke University programs, including Youth Programs and the Talent Identification Program (TIP), Duke Pre-College Programs inspire and challenge the next generation of problem-solvers. Our diverse selection of courses is designed to bring the Duke experience to current 6th-11th graders through cutting-edge topics featuring Duke guest speakers, researchers and resources. Science/Technology/Engineering/Math

National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC - Engineering: At the NSLC engineering summer program for high school students, you’ll explore a variety of engineering fields including mechanical, civil, electrical, and biomedical engineering. Locations Include: Duke, Johns Hopkins, UT Austin, UC Berkeley, and Yale. See website for dates and details.

National Youth Leadership Forum - Exploring STEM: Program designed to give high-aspiring middle school students a hands-on introduction to careers in the highly competitive fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The forum provides students with a broad range of academic and career insights through interactive simulations, workshops, and speaking events with STEM experts. Conferences held at multiple universities across the country See website for dates and details.

Texas A&M University: The residential Camp SOAR is designed for rising high school juniors and seniors with an interest in Aerospace Engineering. Students will explore the field through design projects, tours of the department and its research laboratories, and through talks on current topics in aerospace engineering. Participants will work closely with faculty and students in the TAMU Department of Aerospace Engineering, one of the nation's top-ranked departments in the field. This is a selective camp. Camp participants will visit facilities including the Vehicle Systems and Control Laboratory, the Land Air and Space Robotics Lab, the Oran W. Nicks Low Speed Wind Tunnel, the National Aerothermochemistry and Hypersonic Laboratory, and others. Check the website in December for information and dates for 2023 programs.

United States Naval Academy Summer STEM: Thinking of a career as a coder, game developer, designer, or robotics engineer? Then start with the experience of a world-class program like the Naval Academy’s Summer STEM Program. You’ll work with students from all over the country as you test your problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration skills. Deadline: March 31, 2023. See website for details.

University of Texas at Austin: The University of Texas Engineering & Computer Science Camp is for students who will have graduated from 9th or 10th grade by Summer 2023. In this five-week camp, students explore concepts related to real-world engineering, computational thinking, computer programming in Scratch and object-oriented languages like Python, and technology development. Advanced Engineering Camp: For students who have completed 8th, 9th, 10th grade by summer 2023. Students will have the opportunity to create their own innovative projects by incorporating computer science, math, and engineering concepts via a Maker-centered approach. UTRGV: Texas Pre-Freshman Engineering Program (TexPREP) (Edinburg Campus) - TexPREP is an academic enrichment program for middle school and high school students. Students are eligible if they have the interest and potential for careers in the fields of mathematics, science, technology, and/or engineering. Students with disabilities are welcome. If the students are accepted, they will spend seven summer weeks on the UTPA campus and will come back for special events in the Fall and Spring. They will interact with students their age and with professionals in the fields of mathematics, science and engineering who will share their experiences and knowledge about possible future careers. TexPREP is a four-year program. Open to 7th to 11th grades.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute: Virtual and in-person events will be offered for middle school and high school students in STEM topics. See website for details. Information about Summer 2023 programs will be available in late January 2023.

Multi-Subject Summer Programs

Adelphi University: Rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors can spend 2 weeks living and learning on Adelphi’s beautiful campus in Garden City, NY, exploring subjects like: Art and Design; Business and Entrepreneurship; Digital Media Production; Musical Theater; Nursing; Psychology and Pop Culture; Science, Technology and Art; Science, Medicine and Health (non-credit); Video Game Programming. Programs will take place from July 9-29, 2023. Check back in January 2023 for more information.

Barnard College: Female students who are rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors are eligible to attend Barnard College’s Summer in the City Program. Two-week and four-week programs are available for students who want to experience life in NYC and explore summer programs in entrepreneurship, women’s and gender studies, urban studies, social justice reform, art history and fashion, creative writing, STEM, and more. Boston University: RISE Internship – Six-week non-credit residential program in which students conduct scientific research in a university lab. Students must be rising seniors. Academic Immersion – three-week non-credit residential program for intensive single academic topics (Introduction to Experimental Psychology and Introduction to Medicine) while enjoying life on campus. Summer Challenge – two-week residential program in which students take two non-credit seminars of their choice and experience life on a college campus. Summer Preview – one-week non-credit commuter or residential program in which students explore one subject of interest while previewing the college experience. Apply on website. During the 3-week intensive program, Caminos scholars examine the social, economic, and political transformations affecting the Hispanic/Latino community. Through lectures by university professors and expert leaders in their fields, scholars not only learn about pressing contemporary issues but also create their own project to bring change in their own communities. Typical candidates have a record of outstanding academic ability and a demonstrated commitment to service and leadership within the Hispanic/Latino community.

Open to students entering grades 9 through 12 and freshman year of college, the program combines academic rigor and instructional excellence with lively extracurricular offerings and careful supervision and support. Participants select one curricular option per session for an in-depth examination of a specific subject area. Students learn by engaging directly with the subject matter through activities such as class discussions, labs, debates, simulations, workshops, studios, assigned readings, and individual and group projects. Outside of class, students participate in a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular activities, including college preparedness programming, community outreach and awareness activities, special interest clubs, and special lectures on various topics of interest. Students in the residential program have access to a wide array of cultural excursions into New York City, led by trained Resident Advisers. Students also engage in on-campus evening and weekend activities curated to provide students with a vibrant residential life experience. The Summer Program provides a rich and demanding academic experience, but it is also an opportunity for students to enjoy the summer on Columbia's tranquil campus, make new friends, get a taste of college life, and explore New York City in a supervised setting. Oxbridge Academic: For more than 35 years, Oxbridge Academic Programs has hosted bright and enthusiastic students aged 13-18 for four-, two-, and one-week study programs on some of the world’s leading campuses. What began in 1986 in Oxford, England, now additionally includes Cambridge, Paris, Montpellier, Barcelona, Salamanca, and New York City. University of Chicago: This summer learn and explore at one of the world’s greatest intellectual destinations and pick from a wide variety of courses taught by UChicago faculty. Online and in-person options available.

University of Notre Dame: Summer Scholars participants spend two intensive weeks in one of many exciting programs of study. We keep the classes small and personal attention from Notre Dame faculty high. The coursework is a true preview of college academics—it is both rigorous and rewarding, and students earn one transferable college credit upon the completion of a program track. Students collaborate on coursework outside designated class times as they would in any college setting. There is also ample time to enjoy the social facets of college life, especially those unique to Notre Dame. Applications open Oct. 17, 2022.

Middle School Summer Challenge; HighSchoolSummerScholarsProgram:Studentsliveoncampusandearncollegecredit. High School Summer Academy Through this program, students live on campus and enroll in one 3-unit course for credit taught by a WashU professor. Performing Arts

AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts (Los Angeles) and The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (New York City): High School Summer Conservatory for students interested in working on Broadway, film, and television. Two-weeks Summer Conservatory sessions offered at both Los Angeles and New York campuses or online in musical theatre, acting for the stage, dance theatre, acting for TV and film, and pop star: recording artist. Open to students completing grades 8 – 12.

Interlochen Arts Camp: Offers a diverse selection of summer camp programming in seven arts disciplines: creative writing, dance, film and new media, interdisciplinary arts, music, theatre, and visual arts. Dates for Summer 2023 programs vary; see website for details
