This year, we have a goal to raise $50,000 to cover the cost of school supplies for 4,200 students for the entire academic year, adopt 20 classrooms in Washington Township, and adopt a school in Kenya. This gathering is designed for foster and adoptive parents, kinship providers...really all those who care for orphaned and vulnerable children. It is a time to fellowship, to share experiences, and to learn from one another. This is not a foster/adoptive recruiting event, rather, it is all about supporting people on their post-placement journey. Discussions have included or may include transracial adoption, attachment issues, navigating relationships with birth parents and families, the effect of trauma, among others. A light breakfast will be served, and childcare is available if you register in advance. Register at stlukesumc.com/events. MIDDLE SCHOOL MAYHEM JUNE 27-JULY 1 Students who will be in 5th-8th grade for the 2022-23 school year are invited to Mt. Mayhem where we will explore Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and the “Be-Attitudes” Jesus taught us. This week-long day camp gives middle schoolers a chance to form new friendships as they have discussions and competitions with their “crew” of other students and a few leaders, serve alongside their peers, learn more about faith in
worship designed specifically for them, and play all kinds of insane games. Middle School Mayhem is always one of the best youth events of the year, and it can’t happen without volunteers! We need people to lead crews, run game times, decorate the building, and more. To learn more and register, go to stlukesumc.com/students. SPECIAL NEEDS EVENT SUNDAY, JULY 10 • 5-7PM • ROY G.
