YOU BELONG: TO IMPACT

BACK TO SCHOOL EXTRAVAGANZA Each year we partner with Washington Township schools as they kick off a new academic year. We work closely with their teachers and administrators to find the BEST way we can support the school district, while at the same time upholding our shared commitment to justice, anti-racism, and inclusivity. This year, we have a goal to raise $50,000 to cover the cost of school supplies for 4,200 students for the entire academic year, adopt classrooms in Washington Township, and adopt a school in Kenya. To learn more and give, visit stlukesumc.com/backtoschool. MIDDLE SCHOOL MAYHEM JUNE 27-JULY 1 Students who will be in 5th-8th grade for the 2022-23 school year are invited to our FAVORITE event of the year - Middle School Mayhem! This week-long day camp gives middle schoolers a chance to form new friendships as they have discussions and competitions with their “crew” of other students and a few leaders, serve alongside their peers, learn more about faith in worship designed specifically for them, and (of course) play all kinds of insane games. This year’s theme is Mt. Mayhem! We will explore Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and the “Be-Attitudes” Jesus taught us. Middle School Mayhem is always one of the best youth events of the year, and it can’t happen without volunteers! There are a variety of ways to get involved. We need people to

lead crews, run game times, decorate the building, and more. To learn more and register, go to stlukesumc.com/students. SPECIAL NEEDS EVENT SUNDAY, JULY 10 • 5-7PM • ROY G. HOLLAND PARK IN FISHERS Those involved in the Special Needs Ministry, along with their families and friends, are invited for a fun afternoon together at Roy G. Holland Park in Fishers! Please bring drinks for your family and a side or dessert to share. You can also bring swim gear if your family wants to use the splash pad. TRADITIONAL ORDER OF WORSHIP Prelude | Michael Conley, piano

Welcome | Rev. Nicole Caldwell-Gross Opening Hymn | Come, Ye Sinners, Poor and Needy #340, verses 1-3 Affirmation of Faith: A Statement of Faith of the Korean Methodist Church, adapted Leader: Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith let us now declare:

All: We believe in the one God, maker and ruler of all things, the source of all goodness and beauty, all truth and love. We believe in Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, our teacher, example, and Redeemer, the Savior of

the world. We believe in the Holy Spirit, God present with us for guidance, for comfort, and for strength. We believe in the forgiveness of sins, in the life of love and prayer, and in grace equal to every need. We believe in the Word of God contained in the Old and New Testaments as the sufficient rule both of faith and of practice. We believe in the Church as the fellowship, for worship and for service, of all who are united to the living Lord. We believe in the kingdom of God as the divine rule in human society, in the final triumph of righteousness, and in the life everlasting. Amen.

Glory to God | The Gloria Patri #70 Baptisms Chorus of Preparation | Lord, Whose Love Through Humble Service #581, verses 1 & 3 Litany | Rev. Rob Fuquay LEADER: Lord, in a world where the rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer, we know that your kingdom is not being fulfilled. Renew us, inspire us, teach us how to live out our calling. ALL: Lord, hear our prayer. LEADER: Lord, in a world where tax havens are seen as legitimate and where millions go hungry and have restricted healthcare and education, we long for just sharing of the resources and gifts you have provided us. Help us to serve and build up resistance to oppression. ALL: Lord, hear our prayer. LEADER: Lord, let us learn not to judge others, but to love them as they are. Let us learn not to condemn others but to embrace them. Let us learn to forgive, and forgive again, so we may be free from the wounds of vengeance and anger. ALL: Lord, hear our prayer. LEADER: Lord, as we gather to worship you, let us remember that you teach us to share, to love, to reach out to those in need and to be alongside the vulnerable. You teach us to be sacrificial, believing that even if the journey is hard – there is always new life in you. ALL: Amen.
