Fight the Banning of Books: Brooklyn Public Library joins those fighting for the rights of teens nationwide to read what they like, discover themselves, and form their own opinions. The High School Ministry is taking a Saturday to hike, kayak, play games and spend intentional time welcoming current 8th graders into the HS Ministry at Eagle Creek! This is a great way for 8th graders to do their first HS activity and get to know some older students. Current high school students will enjoy this fun day with their peers. SOWERS: PLANT SALE

The Sowers have manicured their gardens, separated the perennials, organized extra plants and are ready to sell them. Come pick from
our bounty before and after services on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Sower’s members will be there to answer basic questions on plant care. Proceeds go to upkeep and upgrades of the Sower’s Garden.

This week-long day camp gives middle schoolers (5th-8th grade) a chance to form new friendships, serve alongside their peers, learn more about faith in worship times designed specifically for them, and play all kinds of insane games. This year’s theme is Medieval Mayhem! We will talk about what it means to us that Jesus is “king,” debunking the bad narratives we’ve heard of kings and learning about the selflessness of the kingdom Jesus talks about. DEMENTIA FRIENDS INDIANA

The Dementia Friends Workshop seeks to build awareness of and break down stigmas surrounding various forms of dementia. The goal is to help everyone in a community understand dementia, reduce the stigma, and make life easier for those with dementia and their caregivers. Freedom Schools are summer programs designed to increase literacy, self-esteem, socio-emotional skills, and a love of learning for children in elementary school. We disrupt the summer learning slide by keeping scholars engaged and stimulated. St. Luke’s is hosting its second Freedom School help children of Washington Twp. discover their potential and greatness, utilizing books and curricula that celebrate the cultures and contributions of people of color.
