Six with a Saint: ANDREW GARY ’20
Senior Andrew Gary recently met up with The Bell to answer six quick questions in six minutes.
Gary, an active member of St. Martin’s Safety and Security Committee, conceptualized a bill in the Louisiana Legislature that was signed by Gov. John Bel Edwards in June 2019. The bill – Senate Bill 43, now Act 44 – aims to enhance school safety protocol through student participation. Gary says that experience encouraged him to establish The Youth Advocacy team of Louisiana, a student-run nonprofit organization that advocates on legislation and policy to benefit the youth of Louisiana.
