Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord

From Pope Francis…. “God’s justice is his mercy given to everyone as a grace that flows from the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.” Reflection Prayer Lord, your death and resurrection brought joy, peace, mercy and new life for all humanity. I feel new life when I am loved and accepted as I am. I experience deep joy and peace when I am forgiven for a wrong I have done. I am filled with gratitude when someone does a good deed for me. Lord, let me sense your presence in creation and in every person I encounter. Strengthen me with the power of your resurrection so that I may bring the light of joy, peace, mercy and a new life filled with hope and justice to all people. Amen.

We are an Easter People! Alleluia is our song! After six weeks, we bring back the ALLELUIA! We have journeyed with Jesus through Lent and the Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil) and have reached the pinnacle of the Christian Faith. Jesus fulfilled his promise to rise from the dead and the Christian Faith began. We hear in the Gospel that when the women went to the tomb it was empty but they saw a man close by that said to them “Do not be afraid.” The women did not realize that they were speaking to the Risen Christ. Along with the Alleluia!, we bring back the Gloria because we want to shout from the roof our happiness in the Risen Christ and give praise and honor to the Gospel message to love God with our whole heart and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Be an Alleluia people and live your faith!

This Easter Day …… On this Easter day, we rejoice in our baptisms, Alle Estamos una gente de Pascua! when we died with Christ, when we died to sin, when we Aleluya es nuestro canto! died to the sort of fundamentalism that would claim God is this and not that, God is here and not there, God is in us and Después de seis semanas, nos traen de vuelta not in them. el ¡aleluya! Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord

Sunday Scripture Reflections Reading 1 Acts 10:34a, 37-43 Alleluia! This is Easter, the day of Jesus' rising from the dead, the most meaningful day of the year for all who believe in him. Things are different today. Bells are ringing and we are singing Alleluia.

In the first reading, which comes not from the Old Testament but from the Acts of the Apostles, Peter gives us a mini-version of the entire Gospel Reflection. He reviews the key events in Jesus' life, proclaims his resurrection, and describes the ministry of the apostles. Peter assure his listeners that Jesus has the power to forgive their sins.

Jesus gives everyone the freedom to live a new life!
