Sunday Scripture Reflections
Primera lectura Daniel 12:1-3
Reading 1 Daniel 12:1-3 In this reading we hear from a very special and different book of the Old Testament. The Book of Daniel is filled with special images of what the future will be like. This passage gives the first hint in the Bible of the resurrection from the dead. It is not a description of what will happen; it is only a vision, like a work of poetry. The writer speaks about Michael, the archangel of God, who will lead the just and those who work for justice into the everlasting life of heaven. There every tear will be gone; we will have fullness of life forever with God and all those whom we love.
Reading 2
Hebrews 10:11-14, 18

Evangelio Marcos 13:24-32
In this reading we look forward to the day of Jesus' second coming. We do not know the day or the hour of his coming; only God knows. Meanwhile, as Jesus has repeatedly taught us, we must watch and wait for him in faith, hope, and love. In the hour we least expect him, he warns, he will come.
Sin embargo, él insiste en que nadie, excepto del Padre, sabe Let us pray in today's liturgy for ourselves and el día y la hora cuando llegará el fin. for the whole Church, that the Lord may find us ready Lo que importa realmente sobre la segunda venida when he returns.
