Performed by the wonderfully dynamic Ensemble 360 and Polly Ives, this concert is a great introduction to live music for children. It’s full of wit, invention, songs and actions, with plenty of opportunities to join in.

A concert celebrating the recent 150th birthday of the celebrated composer who embodies the sound of English music. The evening opens with Vaughan Williams’ most famous work, The Lark Ascending, in its original version for piano and violin. This is followed by the String Quartet written by the composer’s friend and mentor Maurice Ravel and the dramatic Fantasy for Horn Quintet by his teacher, Charles Villiers Stanford. Vaughan Williams’ expansive Piano Quintet rounds off the evening.

As a member of the Cavatina Trust ticket scheme, which enables young people to enjoy live chamber music, we are able to offer a limited number of free tickets to eight- to 25-year-olds for this concert. To book these tickets, contact the box office.
