Design Experience • Student Interior Design Intern - Miami University Planning & Construction, Feb. 2011 - May 2011 Guided customers in selecting materials, created graphic presentations, researched furniture and codes, conducted field measurements, edited floor plans, and created emergency plans for the university buildings. Accomplishments: Improved the Campus Planning Office by catching and correcting details in their outdated floor plans, resulting in better efficiency and reducing rework. • Volunteer Builder - Habitat For Humanity, June 2009 - Aug. 2009 Helped construct a home from breaking ground to finishing touches. Accomplishments: Being a regular volunteer, I helped teach other volunteers how to measure, saw, set and nail the floors, walls, and trusses resulting in their enhanced understanding of construction. • Volunteer Assistant - Chambers Architecture, July 2009 - Aug. 2009 Participated in client meetings, conducted field measurements, and assisted in the scematic design and design development phases on an as needed basis. Accomplishments: Caught potential design problems while talking with client and preformed necessary tasks before asked to do so. • Wedding Banner Designer - July 2010 - Aug. 2010 Performed sales, design and painting of banners to meet client specifications. Accomplishments: Developed a quicker system of communicating, designing, and painting with client. Work Experience - Other Counseled kids with disabilities at Camp Nuhop. Assembled and led a group as Team Captain in the Relay for Life Walk. Rolled sushi at Tonic. Tended and sold greenhouse plants at Garden Emporium. Education Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design - Miami University, Graduate of May 2011 CIDA Accredited Program ranked by Design Intelligence as Top 10 Design School with a competitive portfolio based entry. • Knowledge of sustainable design, SD, DD, & CD residential, commercial, and furniture design, and web design.
