“I joined Staffordshire University in September 2013. I was the first student to secure a work placement that year, during my second semester. It was a 3-month summer internship, but the company repeatedly extended my contract. More than 8 years have passed and I still work for the same organisation.

My project guide, Prof. Sarath Tennakoon, nominated me for a Midlands-wide innovative/ exceptional project competition. I won, and subsequently completed my master’s degree with distinction.

I was honoured to give a speech to new students at Staffordshire University on how to get a job. From my very first day at the University, the teaching staff, international support and placement teams all supported me.”
