Staffordshire University is transforming the Centre for Excellence for Health Sciences, based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site. We are investing more than £1 million to provide you with the best possible student experience, including: • • • • • • • • •
A welcoming and easier to use entrance, with new front door, brand new external canopy and new signage. Combined with a new landscape to the front of the building, this will make the entrance a pleasure to arrive at and much more accessible A welcoming new reception area designed as a central arrival point, with a new desk directly opposite the front door and view directly into the courtyard Brand new student social space with new furnishings, new vending machines and television – a much larger and brighter area with a view to the outside Full refurbishments inside of the building, to create a bright, clean and up to date learning environment. There will be new decoration, ceilings, lighting, carpets and new timber faced doors with brushed stainless steel door handles throughout, bringing the interior into the 21st century New Learning Technologies and AV throughout the teaching spaces with much improved furniture A more attractive, improved courtyard with fresh, new planting New, larger toilets and student changing rooms, including new disabled facilities, and brand new lockers for students working in the skills labs Newly refurbished passenger lift An improved internal learning environment with new ventilation to many of the larger teaching spaces.
