TODAY IS An Open Day is your chance to get a taster for what life will be like as a Staffordshire University student, with a day dedicated to finding out more about your chosen subject. There’ll be no partying, or takeaways (not yet anyway), but it’s your opportunity to gather everything you need to know. You’ll get a tour of our campus and facilities, meet some of our tutors, chat to current students, attend talks and visit the Students’ Union. You’ll leave clued up and equipped with all the tools to make your decision. So enjoy your day, have fun, and remember to ask loads of questions.
WHO WE ARE At Staffordshire University we’re all about independent thinking, and growing people who think and act for themselves. We learn for the future, but we live in the here and now. We know that you’ll leave Staffordshire University with a great qualification, but what’s more important to us is that you’ll have a great time doing so. You’ll leave with an edge over your competition, and you’ll be ready for the world of work.
FIRST THINGS When you arrive the first thing you need to do is to register by heading to the Beacon Building Foyer (Map Reference 3). We want you to discover what’s really going on at Staffordshire University. Discover a glimpse of your future and, ultimately, discover a university that you can’t wait to join.
INFORMATION HUB
Here, you can meet and talk to staff and students from Faculties and Support Services. If you have any questions or queries, the Information Hub is where you will get them answered. Whether it’s about the application process, accommodation, finance, making friends, course specific queries, or anything else then there’ll be somebody on hand to help.
TOURS START FROM 9.00
This is your opportunity to find out more about the campus, our facilitiesand and the Students’ Union. Tours run through the morning until 16.00 and start from outside the Octagon Building (Map Reference 3).
SUBJECT SPECIFIC PRESENTATIONS START AT 11.00 AND 14.00
You will meet course tutors and current students allowing you to delve under the skin of your course and Staffordshire University. Along with a full tour of our facilities, you’ll be able to enjoy interactive taster sessions and hands-on learning experiences specific to your course.
TALK THE WELCOME TO STAFFORDSHIRE UNIVERSITY
This is our welcome to you and where you’ll gain insight into the values and goals of Staffordshire University. It includes a Student Life Talk given by a current student; they’re there to share their personal experiences as a Staffordshire University student and answer any questions you might have.

Find out everything you need to know about your preferred area of study. Take a tour of our facilities, meet the staff who may be teaching you and talk to our students who are studying the subject. See centre pages for the times of course specific talks.

WALK CAMPUS TOURS
Take a stroll around the campus. Walking tours take place from 9.00 outside The Beacon Building (Map Reference 3). One of our current students will show you around and answer any questions you may have about student life, studying or the local area. Tours run until 16.00 and take about 45 minutes.
LIBRARY TOURS
At Staffordshire University there’s more to our libraries than just books. We have state-of-the-art facilities which provide all the knowledge and technology you’ll need – as well as PCs, Macs, unlimited Wi-Fi, a variety of study environments and over 500,000 books and 16,000 journals. Tours run from 10.00. They start in the Library Reception, Octagon Library and IT Centre (Map Reference 2) and take about 15 minutes.

We are investing more than ÂŁ4m to create a cutting edge Centre of Excellence for Health Sciences in Stafford, including enhanced teaching, social and study spaces. We will be completely remodelling the building at Blackheath Lane to deliver improved facilities, including a suite of skills labs positioned together in a dedicated delivery space, paramedic science labs and ambulance transfer, improved IT/ AV provision, and a new library and social learning space. New specialist teaching facilities will be enhanced by increased and improved general teaching areas and a brand new lecture theatre. These better learning spaces will be supported by a stunning new entrance and reception space together with dedicated student support services.
The programme of works currently in progress will enable us to deliver a vibrant campus with brilliant learning and teaching facilities, giving you the best possible student experience while you study one of our wide range of excellent courses. When you need to re-fuel just keep an eye out for one of our various catering outlets. The Stafford Campus is home to the Terrace Restaurant and the Grumpy Mule Coffee Shop. The Students’ Union also have a shop based in the Beacon Building.
