And through our scheduled presentations, you can learn what it’s like to study a postgraduate degree with us, why a postgraduate qualification is right for you and everything you need to know about postgraduate finance. HOW DOES A VIRTUAL OPEN DAY WORK Our virtual events are hosted entirely online, so you don’t need to leave the comfort of your own home to experience Staffordshire University. The virtual event is the best opportunity to get all the great insights you would expect at a regular university open event. You can expect subject information, a chance to speak with our expert academics, financial and support guidance, and even video tours of our £100m+ facility-packed campus in the heart of the UK.

JOINING OUR EVENT You will receive your registration details via email before the event. This may be as late as 8pm the evening prior to the event, so make sure to keep an eye out for the email. You will be able to log in to the event from 4pm and our staff and students will be online and available to chat straightaway. Our scheduled talks begin at 4.10 but don’t worry if you miss them, you can watch them on demand immediately after they finish broadcasting. And if you miss the event, you can log in afterwards to browse the booths and watch all content on demand, there just won’t be any staff covering the chats during this time. You’ll still be able to ask us your questions via our contact form.
Whilst our virtual event is compatible with mobile and tablet devices, for the best experience we recommended you join the event from a laptop or desktop device.

NAVIGATING OUR VIRTUAL OPEN DAY Once you’ve followed the instructions on your invitation email and logged into our Virtual Platform, you’ve arrived at our virtual open event. From here you can access all our event content via our 6 virtual booths: • Postgraduate chat • Talks and presentations • Subjects • Advice lounge • Application support • Finance Read on to find out more about what’s on offer in each of these booths.

TODAY’S VIRTUAL EVENT Our virtual open event is the perfect opportunity to find out everything you need to know about studying with us, what it’s like to be a postgraduate student and to discover how we put your learning at the heart of everything we do.
Our event is split into 6 virtual booths which you can access by clicking the relevant buttons on the event homepage. SUBJECTS
We categorise our courses into subjects areas. You can access these through the subject button. Our subject booths are where you can join our live subject sessions, watch videos and download content from our schools and, most importantly, chat to our brilliant and friendly academics via text or video chat about the course you’re interested in.
ADVICE LOUNGE
The advice lounge is where you’ll find our support services during the event. Whether you have a question about finance, need to know more about our application process or have questions about childcare, our support services are here to help. You can find a full list of which support services are available on page 12 of this guide.
TALKS AND PRESENTATIONS
This is where you’ll find our scheduled presentations for the day. Our talks will run at the scheduled time (see page 14 for timetable) and then be available “on demand” so you can watch them at a time that suits you.

Our postgraduate chat booth is where you’ll find our postgraduate student ambassadors. They’ll be ready to answer all your questions about life as a postgraduate student and the Staffordshire University postgrad experience.
FINANCE
You can visit our finance booth directly from the homepage or via our advice lounge. If you have any questions about postgraduate fees, loans or repayments our finance team are here to help.
You will receive login details for the event via email and if you have any questions whilst you are online, please visit the postgraduate chat booth where help will be available.

SUBJECT BOOTHS One of the best things about our virtual open event is the chance to chat to our brilliant and friendly academics from the subject area you’re interested in. Whether you want to ask about facilities, study modes, timetabling or support, the event is your chance to get the information you need to make an informed decision about your future. As well as live subject sessions and online chat facilities, our subject booths house all the information you might want about our courses. We’ve included videos, PDFs for download, links to our website and virtual tours to make sure all the information you would want is just a click away. 10

Visit our Nursery to learn about our on-campus day care nursery and the childcare options available for you and your child. Registered as outstanding by Ofsted, our highly qualified team follows the early years foundation stage curriculum and offers special discounts to students.
