Can you tell which part of the United States someone is from by the shape of their hat?

I know that sounds kind of like an odd question, but in some cases the answer to that question is; yes you can. Just like people having accents that allow you to tell if someone is from the South, the North or even the Midwest, often times the hat shape that someone wears can tell you the same story.

I am sure you have all heard the terms “Buckaroo” or “Cowpuncher” well each of these two terms are indicative of different areas of the united states an each have their own style of cowboy hat. And if you don’t believe me call a Buckaroo a Cowpuncher or vice versa and see what kind of fight

The “Cowpuncher” style is more often found in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona. The style of hat that you will see most Cowpunchers wear will have a higher crown with the brim turned up fairly high on the sides almost in a “taco” shape. Chris Petersen’s authentic cowboy blend of country music has given a voice to fans who have felt left behind in the age of pop country. With a sound reminiscent to country songs of the 90’s, Chris has drawn infl uence from artists like Chris Ledoux, George Strait, and Merle Haggard. With hard hitting vocals that cut above the driving beat of the band, Chris Petersen’s performances stand out to create a fun, foot stomping experience. Chris’ electric performances were proven when he was crowned champion of Country Battle USA 2019. Bands from LA to Nashville came to compete for a $15,000 fi rst place prize. After a standing ovation on thier fi nal set, Chris and his band were selected by a panel of 5 judges and fan voting as the winners of the event.

In July of 2020 Chris appeared on season 15 of Americas Got Talent. Judge, Simon Cowell, called the performance, “brilliant” and later “genius.” Heidi Klum added, “I really think America would fall in love with you guys.” When all was said and done Chris received “fi ve yeses” including one from Simon’s dog Squiddly.

Chris’ 2019 album, “Cowboy Coming Home” reached the BILLBOARD CHART for the Mountain Region in the TOP TEN of all genres. This is a feat not easily attained by an independant artist. For his 2019 album Chris teamed up with producer, Trent Willmon. Trent is a seasoned singer/ songwriter who has written songs for countless artists including Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Eric Church, Montgomery Gentry, Little Big Town, Cody Johnson, and many more. As a producer Trent has had exceptional success. Trent produced a 2019 Billboard #1 Album, Cody Johnson’s, “Aint Nothin to it. Trent Willmon said the following about working with Chris, “I feel like Chris Petersen has one of those timeless voices. It’s a rare honor to get to work with a real cowboy with such a tireless work ethic and great attitude, and an authentic sense of who he and his audience is.
