CONTENTS SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAMS.........................................................................................4 RECREATION - ACTIVITIES - CAMPS...............................................................................8 SCHOOL DISTRICT CALENDARS ................................................................................. 40 Greetings! Thank you to the Standard Examiner and our many community-based youth service organizations for their partnership in preparing this Summer Kids Catalog. Summer is a great time of year for children. It is a time to explore new things, a time for the hours to pass more slowly, a time to be outside and enjoy nature. Each day also has more light to read by. If children have meaningful summer activities that feed their love of learning, give them new experiences, and foster healthy relationships, they will head back to school in the fall ready for a new school year. We hope some of the learning experiences we have gathered in this catalog will lift the lives of our youth and help prepare them for a successful tomorrow. Tim Jackson, United Way of Northern Utah President and CEO

WELCOME TO PARENTHOOD! It’s not easy. But you’re not alone.

Welcome Baby is a free home visitation program for parents that provides learning kits, parenting tips, free books, and more. We’re excited to bring our program to new areas of Utah this year! If you live in Weber, Box Elder, Davis, or Salt Lake Counties, have a child aged 0-36 months, and would like to join our program, please visit uwnu.org/welcome-baby. We are also looking for home visitor volunteers! Visit uwnu.org/ welcome-baby to sign up.

What is

Learn with Playgroup is a free weekly educational play experience for children ages 0-5 and their parent or caregiver. The program is available to all families who live in Box Elder, Weber, Davis, and Morgan Counties and has no eligibility requirement other than age range of the child. Families can enroll in the program at anytime. Learn with Playgroup focuses on educating the whole family to prepare children for kindergarten. Families focus on supporting their children in reaching developmental milestones, increasing parent-child engagement techniques, increasing the families social network, and learning about community resources offered in their area. At each weekly 2 hour playgroup, parents or caregivers and their children experience educational free play, songs and reading in a small group. Parents share experiences, learn how to help their child reach their full potential, and hear about a community resource. All to prepare children for kindergarten success. To learn more or Sign-Up
