Why do we talk about Christian-ish? It’s because we understand our own selves and our own tendencies. God’s mission leads us to love and build relationship, in word and action, with all people.

PRELUDE | Communion Basil Harwood, composer | Chris Widomski *CALL TO WORSHIP On this World Communion Sunday, churches across the globe celebrate coming to the table together. We are diverse, we are unique, we are all children of God, and we share one table. Благодать Господа Иисуса Христа да пребудет с Вами. La gracia del Señor Jesucristo sea con ustedes. 主耶穌基督的恩典與你同在. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you. And also with you. The risen Christ is with us. Praise the Lord! *OPENING HYMN | Eucharistic Hymn Beech Spring

Celebrate our Lord’s Communion, sacrament of bread and wine. All God’s children come together, church on earth and church divine. He is calling; he will bless us. Eucharistic mystery present in our eating, drinking. “Do this to remember me.” Celebrate our Savior’s triumph, life eternal is our gain. We remember Jesus’ passion, broken body suffered pain. He will heal us; he sustains us. Eucharistic mystery present in our grief and sorrow, “Do this to remember me.” Celebrate God’s Son among us, people come from every land. All are welcome at the table joining every heart and hand. He forgives us; he unites us. Eucharistic mystery present in our caring, loving. “Do this to remember me.” *AFFIRMATION OF FAITH I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. Praise to thee o lord for all creation, Give us thankful hearts that we may see All the gifts we share and every blessing, All things come of thee. Look at the earth: Bringing forth fruit and flower, Look at the sky: The sunshine and the rain. Look at the hills, look at the trees and mountains, Valley and flowing river field and plain. INVITATION TO CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP *CLOSING HYMN | Christ for the World We Sing 568 | Italian Hymn

1 Christ for the world we sing, the world to Christ we bring, with loving zeal; the poor, and them that mourn, the faint and overborne, sinsick and sorrow-worn, whom Christ doth heal.

3 Christ for the world we sing, the world to Christ we bring, with one accord; with us the work to share, with us reproach to dare, with us the cross to bear, for Christ our Lord.

2 Christ for the world we sing, the world to Christ we bring, with fervent prayer; the wayward and the lost, by restless passions tossed, redeemed at countless cost, from dark despair.

4 Christ for the world we sing, the world to Christ we bring, with joyful song; the newborn souls, whose days, reclaimed from error’s ways, inspired with hope and praise, to Christ belong.

BENEDICTION POSTLUDE | Chaconne Louis Couperin, composer | Chris Widomski

World Communion Sunday takes place each year on the first Sunday of October and is observed by Christian denominations throughout the world. This day promotes unity and ecumenical cooperation around the celebration of Holy Communion. 4
