MAGAZINE AUGUST 2024
Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride!

TALKING WITH TJ
As we begin our journey into the descent of madness that is my mind and the crazy antics of my life, I would like to first introduce myself. My name is TJ, blah blah blah, that sums it up and all you need to know. Whew… got past the CRAP no one cares about! Now for the good stuff.
Mustang culture is one that is very unique and brings together people from all walks of life. One thing is for sure though, the STANG Mag crew isn’t your typical crew. We are a bunch of weirdos, oddballs, and outcasts. We party hard and live by our ride or die motto and have adventures like no other.
From partying in various spots all over the U.S., to touring some of America’s most haunted sites, to having my ass spanked by a beautiful Latina in Las Vegas in front of a restaurant packed full of guests (and owning it), it’s never a dull moment! All I can say is... strap in, rev the shit out of your motor, and let’s go!
SUMMIT POINT RACEWAY
Hello People! This month was a crazy month but a very fun month. We did our first annual STANG Magazine trip to Summit Point Raceway in good ole’ West Virginia for the SCCA Mid-Atlantic Racing Series. This was a wild trip but very cool weekend filled with booze, wild women, some hilarious dancing, and of course a trip to the local Casino and country bar.
Summit Point was really cool. Alan and his family had a campsite set up right in front of the track where they literally had front row seats to watch the race. Watching all the various classes race was interesting because you got to see the various cars ranging from small Miatas all the way to Mustangs and Porschs race all day. You could really see the different skill levels of the drivers from those who took it easy to those who are balls to the wall and are not afraid to slam their cars into a corner.
After watching the races, we got really hungry and decided to hit the town for some food and AC. Man was it a hot day! First, we went to the Charlestown Holy Casino. Well, that was a mistake. It was packed, ass to ass. A lot of ass grabbing going on and not

the good kind. There was a 40-minute wait for food at the sportsbar within the casino. We decided to wander the casino looking for beer, but since it was so packed, all the open bars were slammed with long lines. So, after wandering around boozeless, we said the hell with this. Next, we went to a local quaint restaurant out in the middle of West Virginia. Now this was a nice little spot called Benchwarmers. This place was down to earth with a rustic country feel. I got the meatloaf and mashed taters and gravy. OMG, was it delicious. Our waitress had mentioned that next door was a country dance bar! Now it’s all over, after we ate, we went next door. What a blast! It as a night filled with Long Islands, goofy dancing, and of course all the beautiful WV
women you could ask for! Needless to say, we tore this bar up.

I want to give a huge shout out to Alan Kinsey and his family for the warm welcome and for the good time. Alan and his Family have a family tradition of coming to this event every year for a weekend filled with many laughs, camping, and great memories. Should you ever be in the area during the SCCA Mid Atlantic Racing Series event at Summit Point, WV, stop by his family’s camp area, usually in front of the racetrack and give them a huge shout out! Until next time hooligans, stay safe and keep them tires spinning!

Nothing is better than the feeling I get when I slide in behind the wheel of my stang. My whole personality changes. I get that carefree feeling of all my stress going away. So you could say owning a Mustang has been a healthy choice, at least that’s what I keep telling myself. I get a good laugh every time somebody says wow I’m surprised your husband lets you drive his car, or when other drivers pull up next to me at a light and rev their engine. As I wait for them at the next light, I slowly roll my window down to see the look on their face when they realize they just got smoked by an EcoBoost, with a lady driving.
This is my third Mustang, I have always enjoyed owning a Mustang. I find owning my Mustang gets me out of the house a lot more. I am in three Mustang clubs, and have made great friendships with fellow Mustang lovers. I love going on cruises, showing it off at car shows, and finding any excuse to get out and drive it. I purchased my Velocity Blue Mustang stock so I could customize it to what I wanted, rather than picking options off a car lot or brochure. Mods include Navy and White stripes and rocker stripes,

MY WIFE AND KIDS HAVE BEEN BY MY SIDE HELPING ALL THEY CAN...

I’ve been a Mustang fan for as long as I can remember and when the 13/14 body style came out I fell in love but wasn’t an option to own one at the time. A few years later, the search was on and luck would have it this one was freshly traded In at my local Ford dealer, bone stock with only 7,000 miles so of course I had to bring it home .
It has changed a lot over the years since we brought it home and every mod done my wife and kids have been by my side helping all they can and I wouldn’t have it any other way. They love it just as much, if not more, than I do. It’s definitely been a fun journey so far watching the car change with every piece we add and knowing I’ve built it my self. It’s hard to describe the pride you feel when someone compliments your car or you win a trophy at a local car show with something you built. I’ve owned my share of Mustangs from Foxbodys to New

She’s a 2018 Premium Ecoboost, 2.3T, Convertible. Just like me, she’s an original; just like she was meant to be. Nothing fancy, just her own gorgeous self.
I’ve dreamed of owning a Mustang almost as long as they have been in existence. The thrill of hearing the distinctive roar of the pipes as one takes off puts a smile on my face every time. I never thought I would own one of these awesome machines. Decades later I would make that dream come true.
Since I got her, I’ve joined a couple of Mustang groups. Great people, who don’t judge or criticize, are helpful and are just plain friendly. I’m looking forward to many enjoyable adventures with Crystal and the open road.

AROUND...
Well what can I say, I was 16 years old when I saw my first Mustang and fell in love! The look, the sound of the motor, and well absolutely everything about them. This became me dream car, but I never thought in a million years I would ever get to get behind the wheel of a Mustang or even own one.
Fast forward 28 years of dreaming of being behind the wheel of my very own Mustang, there she was a 2007 Mustang GT, left hand drive just sitting there and I knew I had to make her mine! Ever since the day she came off the transporter, I have beamed with pride driving her around my home town. She may not be the best looking Mustang in town, but she can still turn heads.
As for her Nickname, I call her “Devil’s Child” after my Roller Derby name Lucifer’s Girl. Seems like a good fit.

I HAVE BEEN CUSTOMIZING HER SINCE EARLY 2009.
Estelle is my 2008 GT Premium. I have been customizing her since early 2009. It has won every category at a car show possible. She has a 4.6 HiPo with every option I could find, except nitrous or turbo.
Estelle has a lot of ACC polished stainless steel, Metco lightweight pullies, Saleen under drives, Granatelli coil packs, Ford Racing throttle body, Holley spacer in back of that, Pypes shorty headers, and Roush muffler deletes!

My name is Danny Bolden and this is my 2016 Competition Orange Mustang GT Premium out of Cullman, Alabama. I named the car Garfield and it is registered with the Competition Orange Mustang Registry, Orange Mustang Registry, and the Coyote Mustang Registry all under #0843. It was completely stock when I bought it two years ago. I’ve only added cosmetic mods since then. However, I have a ton of parts on hand and am just waiting for my shop to give me a good date for install. She will soon be equipped with more parts than I can even list!
A power adder will be purchased next year as well. It will have On3’s top mounted twin turbo system. I am also planning on buying an upgraded driveshaft and axles. I’m building the car to be a Road Course car with the capability of 1000 wheel HP but will be running a safe 800whp with about 975 + - to the crank. Hopefully I will be slowly driving on each road

This is “George” and he is my 1994 Mustang. George was actually given to me as a parts car for another Mustang that I owned at the time. I just couldn’t find the heart to tear him apart. He was actually the sixth Mustang in our corral. As you can guess my wife and I are huge Mustang enthusiasts and we own five other Mustangs ranging from 1978 to 2005 models.
George had been sitting for several years next to a shed after its previous owner passed away at a very young age. The title had been lost but I was able to do some extra paperwork and get a replacement. It was in need of quite a few things but George is a very solid car. Mods mainly include custom interior paint and a few odds and ends.
Not every Mustang needs to be dolled up and stacked with goodies galore. Some were meant to be beautiful just the way they are. They have meaning and were important to so many others. Some have a history that can never be forgotten. For George, he is a Mustang that we wanted to save and keep just the way he is. He was important to his previous own-

This is “Nitemare”, a 2000 Mustang GT. This Mustang was a gift from my husband 20 years ago for our 30th anniversary.
I have had so many joyful times with my pony. So many trips to the mountains, ocean, drag strips and with my kids and grandkids. I still love driving her all the time.
This Mustang goes everywhere. My husband and I just celebrated our 50th anniversary this year and we can’t wait to see where this Mustang will take us for years to come!

EVER SINCE THE DAY SHE CAME OFF THE TRANSPORTER, I HAVE BEAMED WITH PRIDE DRIVING HER AROUND...
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.
The majority of Mustang owners grew up with the passion to eventually own one. Not me. To be honest, I didn’t really like Fords at all. I grew up with my dad building on Camaros and Corvettes. It always (and still does) fascinates me what can be done. In high school, my boyfriend (now husband), was all into modifying his rides and going to car shows. And of course, I followed with him pretty much everywhere he went. Then I started taking my own to car shows. Went to one car show out of state and ended up having damage done to my car. I came home, parked it in the garage, and that was where it stayed for a few years. Fast forward many years, my husband buys an F250 Super Duty and started modifying it. It kind of lit that old flame that had been burned out. I told him I wanted another 6-speed sportscar. We started looking and I found many Camaros, Chargers, and Challengers. They just weren’t THE one. My husband shows me a listing for a Mustang and was like “that’s nice looking.” Needless to say I had a 2020 Mustang GT at home within a couple of days.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
if my man let me drive his car. It is also absolutely priceless to see the look on people’s faces when they see a female get out of the car. I absolutely love this car and it is hands down my most favorite car I’ve ever had.
The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!
I have many things I want to do to her but that will all come in time. She is a 6-speed manual with the black accent package. I have tinted windows and eyebrow, little bigger tires on the rear, hot pink calipers, pink stripes on the wheels, JLT CAI, and a resonator delete with an X-pipe. I love pink (if you can’t tell) and now I finally don’t get asked

I WAS HAPPY WHEN SHE CHOSE THIS ONE.
This is my wife Vicki’s 2005 Mustang Convertible. We bought it used in late 2009 and have loved it ever since. It was always her dream to have a Mustang convertible and I was happy when she chose this one. It had around 60,000 miles on it, not stripes or any badging... just a plain V6 car. It has all leather seats and at that time the Shaker 500 stereo system. She fell in love with it from the get go and began thinking of what we would do to make it our own.
Over the years it has changed. We have added numerous modifications to it. We started simple with striping kits, then changed her center grille lights to halo lights. It wasn’t long before we added more trim in the form of tail light chrome and decided to upgrade the tail lights to sequential wiring.
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.
Next we added a cold air intake and had to have the top replaced after it was vandalized. We were never happy with that top as it wasn’t installed properly so we opted to replace it when the glass began to fall out of it. The hood paint then began to chip away as they all do, so we replaced it with a new fiberglass hood and had the stripes repainted rather than buy a kit. Her stereo was recently replaced and she will soon have new headlights. We hope to add a chin spoiler, new rims, and possibly new interior lighting to her in the future. She has come a long way and we hope to continue to improve her over all.
The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

JUST THE TIP
SHE’S GOT HER HIGH BEAMS ON!
We recently had a car come in for inspection and failed due to fog lights. I know, sounds crazy. How can fog lights not pass an inspection?
In this case, the fog lights were aftermarket, so there was a hardwired switch to turn them on or off, but they were not wired into the vehicles main lighting system. The problem – it’s actually a Federal law that fog lights must
turn off when the high beams are activated. Most, but not all, Mustangs are equipped with fog lights. And from the factory, they turn off automatically when the high beam is turned on. Turn the high beam off, and the fog lights come back on. Fog lights are not substitute for your car’s high beams. It’s just an additional set of low beam lights that sit lower on the car (generally in the lower bumper cover) that provides additional road level lighting in harsh weather conditions.

It may sound like a minor thing, but it is Federally required for a vehicle in any state. If you are really bored sometime, or fighting insomnia some night and can’t sleep, look up CFR 393 (CFR is Code of Federal Regulations. Just an FYI) and have fun going down that rabbit hole. You’ll be sleeping like a baby in no time!
BTW, fog lights are being phased out. Vehicles from many luxury carmakers are no longer coming with fog lamps. These lights, which used to be housed low in the front bumper, are no longer considered necessary in new
cars. According to carmakers, headlamps of new cars feature technology that makes them a lot better than those found in older cars.
Not all Mustangs were equipped with fog light bezels and there were even years that only the GT versions had fog lights. Regardless of their use, many owners simply removed them because they never used them or wanted to change the cosmetic looks of their vehicles.

IN THE “HEADLIGHTS“
STANG MAGAZINE HAS PUBLISHED MILITARY TRIBUTE BOOKS CALLED TWISTED BOMBSHELL...
If you didn’t know and have not been following along with STANG Magazine in the past two years, you have really been missing out. Not only have we converted to a 501c3 nonprofit giving back to our car enthusiast community, the military, and law enforcement, but we have been launching new projects left and right. A few years back we launched Locked & Loaded Magazine which added more to our pages than just Mustangs. The following year we launched STANG Paranormal because we are crazy and like to go ghost hunting all across the country. Last year, we launched our newest project called “Twisted Bombshell”, focusing completely on our military and our military history.
While getting ready for an event at the Battleship New Jersey, we started to talk about having themed events and honoring our family members who served in the military. We started to research uniforms, family histories, and prized possessions that were passed down through the generations. To make a long story short, out of all of our research, our first Twisted Bombshell book was published and it was a tribute to the 2487th Quartermaster Truck Company (Aviation). They were part of the enormous invasion that landed in Normandy and helped to end World War II.
The best part of those months of endless nights and research... we were able to present the first printed copy to the ONLY surviving member of the 2487th Quartermaster Truck Company (Aviation). How cool is that?!?
Since then, STANG Magazine has published two other Twisted Bombshell books. The second was released and
presented to Richard Deverter who the book was about and who served with the 49th Armored Infantry Battalion. One of our STANG staff, Rob Villeaume, gave Mr. Deverter and his wife a copy of the Twisted Bombshell book and a Bronze Start that he was due to receive. Upon receiving his Bronze Star, Mr. Deverter took his last breathe and passed away peacefully with his wife and Rob by his side.
We are now working on Book 3 which is about one of our staff member’s grandathers. This book is about Horace D. Worley and the 7th Infantry Division who fought in the Pacific Campaign during World War II.

TWISTED BOMBSHELL
SALUTE TO OUR MILITARY
RICHARD LEE YUENGLING, SR.
UNITED STATES ARMY AIR FORCE - 566TH BOMB SQUADRON
A TRUE AMERICAN HERO WHO SERVED HIS COUNTRY PROUDLY...
Richard Lee Yuengling, Sr. went overseas beginning Aug. 17, 1943 with his destination as Royal Air Force Station Hethel in Norfolk, England. There he found himself assigned to the 566th Bomb Squadron, 389th Bomb Group (Heavy), 2nd Bomb Division, 8th Air Force, as a waist gunner aboard the B-24.
On one mission Nov. 26, 1944, over Germany, now-Staff Sgt. Yuengling recorded the following in his combat diary: “Target, Misburg — 5 miles over Hanover. Synthetic Oil Plant. Visible target. Altitude 22,000 feet, temperature minus 43 degrees. No flak until over target, then light flak to moderate; very accurate. Front two ships [B-24s] exploded. Was never so scared in my life.” Despite flak and Luftwaffe fighters, Yuengling and his crew returned to base safely and continued working toward the magic number of 35 combat missions until he could rotate home.
Less than two weeks after the mission over Hanover, Yuengling received the first of an eventual four Air Medals for his combat
performance. During the Battle of the Bulge, he found himself in raids attacking German storage depots and communication centers. After completing 34 combat missions, Yuengling returned to the U.S. on April 13, 1945, and received his honorable discharge Oct. 26. Years later, on April 14, 1948, he received a fifth Air Medal, for his CAP coastal patrol service at Base 4.
Richard Lee Yuengling, Sr. was a true American hero who served his country proudly and eventually returned to Pennsylvania to continue with his family business, running and expanding the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
