HONORING OUR BLUE MUSTANGS

SPECIAL EDITION

MAGAZINE

Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride!

COLORED PERFORMANCE PACK.

I first fell into Mustangs at a young age as my dad and his brother owned multiple over the years. Growing up it was one of my favorite vehicles and eventually in 2010 I purchased my first Mustang, a 2000 Performance Red Mustang GT, Spring Edition. I put a lot of time taking this stock low mile Mustang and building it out to be what it is, a fun, supercharged looker with nothing but the best parts on it.

In March of 2019, my ex wife and I separated after a very rocky marriage and after someone rear ended my 2000 Mustang I decided to buy another one to drive exclusively and park the other one for car cruises and shows. In February of 2020, just prior to the pandemic and shut down, my ex and I finally made progress in our divorce settlement and she was required to trade in the vehicle I had been

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

paying for over the last 18 months. I immediately scoured the east coast for this specific colored Performance Pack. As a “congratulatory divorce gift” I flew to NJ and purchased this beauty in February and drove it home. Since then I’ve cleaned up the appearance and added an MBRP Exhaust completing an amazing sound for these coyote engines.

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

It is a 2017 Ford Mustang GT PP1 in Lightning Blue Metallic with 6 speed manual, lowered on BMR springs, and has MBRP exhaust.

This is my 2014 Ford Mustang GT track pack with manual transmission named “Esther.” It has a Roush exhaust and Alpine subs.

I have wanted a Mustang since I was in high school. I always joked about being a Mustang driving grandma and it’s not a joke. I am a Mustang driving Gigi. After all those years, in 2017 my dream car became a reality! She is me and I am her! We just go together.

I have always appreciated and loved muscle cars since I was little. Car shows were always a favorite. Being able to see all the work and love put into a car was always amazing and often times mind blowing. Now I have a little slice of that! Nothing beats the loud growl on a cold start, or the exhilarating feeling of driving something you put your heart into. It never gets old!

Picked this beauty up in Raleigh, NC from an independent dealer. The entire body was riddled with stone chips, white paint overspray, and a ton of scratches. After quite some time wet sanding, buffing and wax, the brilliant Kona Blue

SHE SPORTS HER FACTORY COLOR OF BIMINI BLUE...

This is a factory stock 225 HP 1992 LX 5.0 with a AOD transmission. 60,067 original miles as of this writing. She is still running on factory date coded plugs, plug wires, and hoses. Only the tires, fluids, windshield wiper blades, and the battery have been replaced as required for routine maintenance. She sports her factory color of Bimini Blue which is an LX 5.0 exclusive color. A total of 1,220 cars left the factory in this color. A total of 6,608 LX convertibles were sold in 1992 but, only 268 of those being Bimini Blue. Only 18 of those K3 cars having the white top. The rest all had black tops. So, she is 1 of 18.

My birth Mother bought the car new. I received it in 2000 after her passing. I drive it sparingly. Special occasions and attending bigger car shows. The car wins a lot of awards including being picked Best of Show out of more than 500 entrees by John Clor - Ford High Performance in July 2021.

SHE GETS MANY POSITIVE COMMENTS AND COMPLIMENTS.

My passion for Mustangs started with a couple Mustang IIs back in my late teens to early 20s. Searching, buying, and horse trading for parts, I came up with a very streetable ‘78 Fastback, which I drove for some time.

Life, carreer, and other interests put cars on hold for many years, until a bit of pressuring from a good friend put me into the seat of a ‘91 LX 5.0. My rekindled love for the Pony car, had me searching for my dream generation, which is ‘71-’73... any model. Three years ago, I found the ‘73 my family owns today.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. With the exception of the NACA hood, Magnum 500s, and a few light engine bolt ons, she’s pretty stock. Still donning the numbers matching 351 Cleveland, FMX trans, and open 9” rear. Very reliable, and not horrible on gas, my family and I take her to many shows and cruises. She gets many positive comments and compliments. A joy to own.

SHE JUST GOES AND TAKES THE CORNERS...

My love for Mustangs started with my mom’s ’92 5.0 LX. Many moons ago my dad was taking me to a baseball game when a Corvette lined up next to us. They raced when the light turned green and the vette only saw tail lights. Ever since that day I wanted my own Mustang. I wanted something that there weren’t a lot of or that a lot of people didn’t have, something special. I started looking at Terminator Cobras but I still wanted something a little more limited than that. I went to my tuner/engine builders shop to talk to him about the Cobra. After a little while he says “what about a Boss”? He took me for a ride in his ’13 Boss 302 LS, it was awesome! The raw feel of the car, the power, the handling, just everything. When I got home I started my research, watched countless youtube videos, the works. One video kept standing out to me, Jay Leno’s test drive in a ’13 Boss 302 LS. I kept watching the video over and over, and other videos of boss 302s running around the tracks. I had to have one.

About a month or so after I talked to my car guy he sent me some pictures of one sitting at a dealership. I pulled the trigger and had him buy her. Pictures did not do this car justice until I picked her up. From the dark Kona Blue, to the white reverse C stripes, I love the unique throw back to the old ’69 Boss 302. She looks fast just sitting still. The car had exactly what I was looking for, that unique look that you don’t see a lot of around the streets or shows. Fast forward a couple of years, a dyno tune at Horsepower by Hermann, MGW shifter, Mantic Twin Disk clutch, Steeda suspension parts, and Project 6GR Ten Wheels and she is a whole different animal. Sapphire’s name was chosen because of the deep, dark metallic blue that doesn’t always show its elegance unless it wants to, same as the blue sap -

phire gem. Words can’t really express how much I enjoy the car. I’ve run her at a couple HPDE events at Summit Point and VIR. She just goes and takes the corners like no tomorrow. Every time I start Sapphire and take a few turns or just get on it when I’m going on lunch cruises or fun runs with friends and family it’s a constant reminder of how awesome this car is.

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

Sapphire has been a blast to own. From the day she was brought home, to her track days, to her fun runs, cruises, and shows, I wouldn’t trade those memories with great friends and family for anything. Sapphire has a feeling of just pure rawness, you push and she wants more. There is nothing like getting together with my friends and going for a drive in the Mustangs. All of the visual upgrades and vinyl work were installed and done by Stoneburner Customs.

FOR EIGHT YEARS, EVERY TIME SHE STARTS UP I SMILE FROM EAR TO EAR.

Currently, I own a 2006 Ford Mustang GT 5 speed with 153k on the odometer. As a boy growing up, my father purchased a 1987 5.0 from the fire department they trained on. Well, I was hooked on the first ride. I knew I would always want a Mustang in my life. That small cubic inch motor and I taking on the world. My first Mustang was 1984 convertible. I was 16 years old and under the hood a 347ci stroker. From there my list goes to five more Ford Mustang GTs. I’ve loved them all and my current Mustang is my favorite. For eight years, every time she starts up I smile from ear to ear. I would like to thank my better half for nudging me here and supporting me with unconditional love. Thank you Tasha Gettman.

The Mussy is a 2006 Ford Mustang GT 5 speed, and has a stage 2 clutch, throttle body and also a spacer, has some porting in alot of places, cold air intake, Flowmaster 10 series mufflers with Bassani X-pipe, and a couple other things under the hood as well.
