Fast forward to the summer of June 2007, right before my senior year of high school, I bought this car with 33,000 miles. It was not my daily driver, as it was always just a fun car and a show car. Sixteen years later, the car only has 53,000 miles. I have tried to keep it as close to stock as I can for car show purposes. Only modifications it has is K&N cold air intake, BBK off road x pipe, and Magnaflow cat back exhaust.

and that’s when the love affair began. The current 2015 was purchased after my Red 2010 V6 was totalled. I knew I wanted another Mustang so I started the search. I went to our local dealership, took one look at this Competition Orange color and had to have it! The name “Gypsy” was provided by a niece. It seems to be fitting as this car has been on many trips and handles any situation. She may be an EcoBoost, but she can run with the V8s and save gas at the same time! There have been a few mods done to the car since we bought it and still more to come! It has a CAI, Cobb tune, exhaust upgrade with cat delete, carbon fiber rear spoiler and front splitter, lots of carbon fiber and chrome under the hood, and AXE wheels.

I present to you Kaos from the group COMR (Competition

Orange Mustang Registry). Kaos is a 2015 Mustang GT and is a “Dragon Slayer.” Shortly after joining the group, I found out we meet at the Tail of the Dragon once a year to “paint the mountain”... always in October so our cars compliment the fall scenery. We are a rare color from 2004, 2012 (Boss 302 only), and 2015-16. My first year there had me hooked... to the group and to the Dragon. I had many downfalls to get there... a flat in Memphis, wreck in Nashville, two blown tires on the Tail, but the members quickly swooped in and helped me get fixed up and riding again. That was a perfect example of how this group of Mustang owners look out for one another and it has been a blast ever since!

on 11 September 2001. We attended the Mustang 50th Anniversary celebrations in Las Vegas and found out that the 2015 Mustang would be released in Right Hand Drive. When we returned to New Zealand we placed our order for OURP51. Our second Competition Orange Mustang was purchased for Shirley’s 60th Birthday. Awards for Modern Muscle cars are not common in New Zealand, therefore we were absolutely thrilled to be awarded 2nd and 3rd place in Class at the recent 44th Annual National Mustang Convention. Once I served in Iraq, I had a lot of things all come at once, divorce, finding a place to live, adjusting back to civilian life. So when I saw Nadyine at my local dealership that was it. A couple hours later, I drove off with her. I’m hoping to pass Nadyine down to my daughter someday so she can remember the fun times we had and knowing that I’ll always be there with her. I’ve done a lot of customizing over the years. I installed a custom interior, added short headers, Magnflow X-pipe, and Flowmaster cat-back system. I also installed Eibach suspension upgrades front and rear, an aluminum drive shaft, Baer brakes front and rear, custom painted stripes on the hood, wing, and license plate area, and topped her off with TSW Caldwell staggered wheels. Three years later, I bought my first Competition Orange Convertible Mustang, a 2004, and went to work on it. The color was what caught my attention and I feel this color is one of several that Ford has put out that is just stunning! The 2004 has powder-coated rims, dual exhaust using Flowmaster 40 Series, aftermarket fog lights, sequential tail lights, cold air intake, painted interior, style bar, custom decals for 40th Anniversary, and a Kaminari body kit. This car has turned heads at car shows and parades. Then I bought the 2015 GT in the same color and made minor modifications such as replacing the factory spoiler, adding cold air intake, painting the brake calipers, and adding decals. This car has been amazing to drive and sounds good with its MBRP Exhaust System.

I love driving a Mustang. One of the benefits for me is the ability to customize her however I want. Before I got Tulip, I didn’t know a lot about cars, but I knew how to change a battery and eventually spark plugs. Since I’ve been driving her I have taught myself (via YouTube), asked friends for help, and learned how to install most of the upgrades on her which makes driving her that much more fun. As soon as I saw that Competition Orange color, I immediately started making plans to make her into my very own X-Wing starfighter, and luckily, Tulip loves Star Wars just as much as I do. I had no idea that Competition Orange was such a rare color, but once I found COMR, I realized that I had found a great group of people that could embrace a nerd like me.
