I have always wanted a Mustang since I was a kid in the 80s. I was finally able to get my first one in 2009. That’s when my addiction really took off. Since then I have had five, with mostly not common colors. My 2015 50 year edition, which I named BAM BAM, is totally stock with no plans to mod in the near future. I had always wanted to have a 5.0 and so for two years before I bought my Competition Orange, I had searched for the perfect one. In 2021, I bought my 5.0 for my 46th birthday.

Since I’ve owned a Mustang, I have done cruise ins, car shows, and many car events which have led me to meeting a lot of people even in other states besides my own. Some of which have become very good friends! I’ve had more fun driving this car than any other car I have ever owned! I have to say it’s the coolest car I have ever owned. I get compliments on it all the time wherever I go! The color, the sound, and the power are unbelievable!

After 36 years of dreaming about owning a Mustang, my dream finally came true. Ginger is a 2016 Ecoboost. 2.3L turbo. She has a nice growl and just enough rumble to give the driver tingles in all the right places. She GOES when I punch the gas and has flappy paddles if I want to switch her to manual-ish. She also gets 29 mpg, which has been a godsend when the gas prices rocketed, as I only use 93. She started out as a Hertz rental car and then had one private owner before me. I purchased a windscreen to use when the weather gets cold-

So I drove down to the dealership and there was the orange Mach 1 sitting there. I walked in and I handed them my keys to my white GT. They handed me the keys to the Mach 1 and they proceeded to squeal the tires off of my white GT. I went to the manager and I told the manager that the car is not coming back unless it has brand new tires on it because you guys don’t own that car yet. Needless to say, I drove out of the dealership with two Mustangs the white one and the new orange Mach 1.

THIS COMPETITION ORANGE IS OUR DREAM CAR. had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquir-
ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
We have a 2004 Competition Orange Convertible 40th Anniversary that we call O-RANG-A-TANG. We have loved Mustangs all our lives. This is our 8th one and my wife and I love to take the top down and ride up in the mountains. This Competition Orange is our dream car. When we bought it, it only had 69,000 miles on it and we decided we would put some money into it. Then we found out how rare our color was and found our group COMR and they are awesome. We did some mods to it. First we put a Kenne Belle Supercharger and Shocks and Struts in. Then we put in a Competition Orange Shifter Knob. We put in a new stereo system with a backup camera. We have lots more we would like to do but still working on it.

child. My father owned two 1967 Shelby Mustangs and from that age I was hooked. My first Mustang was a 1987 Mustang LX 5.0 Notchback with the Saleen package. I loved this car, but had to part with it with the growth of my family and the birth of my daughter and the need to have a bigger car. I found the COMR and was immediately welcomed with open arms. This group has given me the opportunity to share my love of Mustangs and connect with liked minded people. This is truly the best group to be involved with. I am honored to be a part of the COMR. The car has many mods, but I will just highlight a few. It has the cat delete, Borla exhaust, a BBK 78 mm throttle body, BBK long tube headers, Roush tubular arms, MSD injectors,

This is not your average orange and not your average group. We are family. I haven’t made any modifications, yet. I have never owned a Mustang before Tango, but I just can’t get enough of her, and she turns heads everywhere I go... mine first. I am obsessed with her sleek and beautiful lines and color. It’s so much fun to be riding around, getting head nods, waves, and light flashes from other Mustangs. I think now, my passion for Mustangs will remain forever. The name Tango represents several things to me, and it fits this car perfectly. First and foremost, Tango is a very sexy dance... and I could stop there. Second, I grew up drinking TANG... the “orange” breakfast drink... so there’s a shout-

buying and selling them. When I was in high school he bought a brand new 2003 Cobra and I thought that was just the coolest thing until he sold it and bought a project 1971 Mach 1 Mustang that we restored together and I still have. In 2018, I had recently sold a 93 5.0 I had and immediately wanted a 2015 or newer GT. My search brought me every color but there was a Competition Orange GT I found that I immediately fell in love with. There was something about the color that just made me have to have it due to being so unique. I ended up buying that CO the next day and still love everything about it and the friends I have made attending car events with it.

Shortly after purchasing it I found the COMR registry and a community of folks that not only love the bright color as much as I do but are just as passionate about driving their cars. Last year I attended the 5th annual Tail of the Dragon meet where 20+ of us painted the mountains with our cars. Heads turned everywhere we went and we were the talk of each stop. My wife and I have a running joke about the color. She claims it to be a Red Orange Mustang while my son defends me as Competition Orange is the most true Orange. I love to drive, and with now owning the car for 18 months, I have put 30k more miles in. So at 121K she is running strong whether on my daily commute, playing on the skid pad or punching it to 140 on the highway.
