MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.
IT SOON BECAME A NEARLY TRACK ONLY TRAILER QUEEN...
The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
I loved the look of the S550 from the first time I saw one. In October 2017, I woke up one day and impulsively decided to buy one. I called the local dealer and told them to find me a 2017 Gray GT 6 speed, no bells and whistles. Two weeks later, “Gray Area” was in my driveway. Little did I know, that it would lead to hundreds of friendships in the Mustang and performance driving community. As a previous owner of a 1972 Coupe and a 1988 GT, and loving them, the S550 just beats them both. It is by far the best car I have ever owned. From the sound of the Borla ATAK catback cold start, to the time I pull back into the shop, every drive is a joy, both on and off the track. It handles like a racecar, because well, that’s pretty much what it has become.
Purchased with the intent of having a fun daily driver, that soon changed once I discovered Autocross and Track. Since then, It soon became a nearly track only trailer queen, with occasional street use, and the love of my life. My build focus was strictly performance and handling. Nothing cosmetic or show oriented. Mods include 19x11 wheels with 305-30-19 tires front and rear, ISC coil overs, Whiteline ad - justable sway bars, front and rear sub frame braces, Stifflers Driveshaft loop, two piece Ford Performance strut brace, BMR cradle lockout, Ford Racing hubs with ARP wheel studs, front and rear aero, a 93 performance tune, Power Stop Track day brake pads, and a few other nice to haves.
Members of the STANG Mag family are more passionate about fun and inclusion than they are their cars and that says a lot! I can’t wait to see what’s to come in 2022!
