Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride!

TALKING WITH TJ
As we begin our journey into the descent of madness that is my mind and the crazy antics of my life, I would like to first introduce myself. My name is TJ, blah blah blah, that sums it up and all you need to know. Whew… got past the CRAP no one cares about! Now for the good stuff.
Mustang culture is one that is very unique and brings together people from all walks of life. One thing is for sure though, the STANG Mag crew isn’t your typical crew. We are a bunch of weirdos, oddballs, and outcasts. We party hard and live by our ride or die motto and have adventures like no other.
From partying in various spots all over the U.S., to touring some of America’s most haunted sites, to having my ass spanked by a beautiful Latina in Las Vegas in front of a restaurant packed full of guests (and owning it), it’s never a dull moment! All I can say is... strap in, rev the shit out of your motor, and let’s go!
PENNHURST ASYLUM
This was a fun adventure. Pennhurst is extremely famous in the ghost hunting world for its extreme paranormal occurrences and sad history. Now did I see anything? Shit no!! But do I ever… nope. I have always watched this place on ghost hunting tv shows and to had a chance to actually see it in person, so I was down. Just like Trans Alleghany Lunatic Asylum, I had all my stuff packed, car shined up, and of course an extra pair of boxers for when a ghost shits in your pants. (FYI this has never happened to me but did happen to good friend of mine, Bob Sacramento).
Pennhurst was built in 1903 in Spring City, Pennsylvania, as a place for people with mental disabilities. Later, there was also a Eugenics program in 1913, to prevent the feeble-minded patients from intermixing their genes with people in general population. Now you can kind of see where this is going. It wasn’t until 1968, when conditions were exposed to the world in a five part television news report done by a local correspondent Bill Baldini. It had been uncovered that the place had a history of understaffing, being very

dirty, and violent. In 1983, nine employees were charged with crimes ranging from slapping and beating patients, including some wheel chair bound ones, to arranging patients to fight each other.
As we walked through the various buildings you definitely felt the dread at this location. There were underground tunnels that lead form one building to another. Oddly one of the buildings that I went to had no roof and had flies all over the corner just buzzing around. This wasn’t the weirdest part though; the weird thing was that it still smelled like piss almost 40 years after its closure. The smell was horrendous. So, I didn’t see any ghosts but it was one hell of an adventure, and gave me new respect to what those poor people had to live through, truly horrifying.

If you are in the Spring City, Pennsylvania area, check this place out as they are currently tearing down the buildings because they are so old and unstable. They pose a risk to the tour, so see it while you still can.

I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!
I have had a love for Mustangs since I was 12 years old. My parents asked if I wanted the 69 Mustang in our garage to be restored when I turned 16 or did I want a newer car. I wanted the 69 Mustang! We restored it and I drove it daily for the next 5 years.
For the next 29 years the car was in storage. During that time I moved all over the country. When I moved to Florida 4 years ago I had the car transported so I could start restoring it again. I’ve had the transmission and carburetor rebuilt, replaced the fuel tank, radiator, headers, and exhaust. The engine was rebuilt a few years ago. I recently added new tires, wheels, and power brakes. I wanted to get everything mechanically sound

before I do any professional paint and body work. I plan to get a digital dash and power steering before a new paint job. I’m enjoying the process of the restoration since this is now a project, not a daily driver.

The latest addition is an American flag paint job, thus the birth of 69 Ameristang. I did it myself, in my garage. It’s temporary and fun. I have a great time driving my car to events and want everyone else to enjoy it as much as I do. I am proud to be an American!

WE’VE TOUCHED ALMOST EVERY PIECE ON THIS CAR...
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
I’ve always loved Mustangs. Mustangs are part of my family history. When I was 3 years old, my dad owned a 1984 GT350, the 20th Anniversary Edition. I remember the day he sold it. My only real memory is where he parked it that day. It was sitting halfway down in the middle of the driveway. My older sisters were crying before the guy took it. I was too young to realize what was happening at the time. He sold the car because he needed money to start building his ‘55 F100, which he still has today, but that’s a story for another time.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
My dad always talked about Mustangs and he always talked about that car. He still does. He now owns an extremely low mileage ‘06 GT. When I was about 12 years old, my dad and I test drove a beautiful brand new ‘98 Cobra in bright yellow paint. I was absolutely hooked at that moment. That Cobra felt awesome from the passenger seat. I wanted that car so bad. I begged my dad to buy it, to no avail. Shortly after I started driving, I got my first Mustang. Since then, I’ve owned 12 in all. Here’s the list: Bright Red ‘86 GT Hatchback, Dark Gray ‘88 GT Hatchback, Grabber Blue ‘73 Fastback, Black ‘07 GT/CS, Metallic Blue ‘65 Coupe, Bright Red Canadian ‘89 Cobra GT ‘Vert, Grabber Orange ‘07 GT, Crystal White ‘97 SVT Cobra, Wimbledon White ‘66 Coupe, Rio Red ‘96 GT, Black ‘96 SVT Cobra, and Oxford White ‘90 GT Hatchback. As I said, Mustangs are part of my family history. Even in February of 2010, my wife and I left our wedding in our ‘73 Fastback. I’ve enjoyed each and every one I’ve owned and she has been with me through them all.
In August of 2014, I traded my ‘97 SVT Cobra for this ‘66 Coupe. It was painted black with hot pink stripes. The paint was new and the pink didn’t bother me, however, it had no
business being black. There wasn’t a flat panel on the car. So, the car went to the body shop. Right off the rip, there was an issue - both rear quarters had been patched with chicken wire and filled with about a gallon of bondo. All of that metal was cut out and new metal was put in. The car was painted back the original color, Wimbledon White. We added the ‘06 Tungsten Gray stripes to match my dad’s car. It’s such a great color. Sometimes it looks light gray, dark gray, blue, and even purple. In July of 2016 I actually sold the car for a little while and was miserable without it. Ten months later I had to buy it back. It felt awesome having it back again. Over the years we have put a ton of time into this car. We’ve touched almost every piece on this car, continually making it better. I currently have this ‘66 Coupe and my ‘90 GT Foxbody. I still haven’t gotten that yellow ‘98 Cobra, but maybe one day.

Growing up my dad had Mustangs, a SN95, GT, and a S197 V6. For the longest time I just loved the way they looked going down the road. The aggressive styling of Mustangs has always had my eye. I never cared about going fast, I just wanted to turn necks. The S550s came out right when I was learning to drive and I fell in love. Then seeing all the aftermarket support and how customizable it was on Instagram, I had to have one and make it my own. When I first got the car, all that was done was lower springs, a custom stripe kit, and some wheels by the previous owner, otherwise everything was bone stock and a clear slate for me to build off of. As I got into the car scene I loved seeing the Japanese stance cars. Slammed to the ground and cambered out and just clean tasteful modifications to make it unique. I wanted to recreate that style on an American muscle car to join the two worlds together. Hence, Lowla’s transformation.

Building the car was probably some of the most fun I’ve ever had. From the purchase of the car until how it sits now, was about a four year process with about three versions. All three versions of the car were built on my severely sloped driveway on two jack stands, a jack, hand tools, and some friends. Shout out to Dave and Mike. Every single modification on this car has been a first for me and my friends. From the exhaust that continues to leak, to the air suspension kit that I put on and wired, to the interior, to the camber. It’s been amazing to learn on this car and to show off. The entire journey of this car has led me to some life long friends and memories I’ll never forget.

My Name is Will Phillip (Will Talk Entertainment on YouTube and Instagram). I’ve been a fan of Mustangs going back to elementary school when my parents were looking to buy the family car and we took a ride in the salesman’s Notchback Mustang. Then my junior varsity coach had a 1993 5.0 and I remember hearing how good that motor sounded. I was hooked.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I tried to get one while I was in college, but they were out of my price range and some were beat up and needed work which would have stretched me financially at that time.
I finally bought my first Mustang in 2010, the last year of the 4.6. It had Pypes exhaust and a Hurst shifter. It was loud. For reasons I still don’t understand, I traded it and regretted that decision.
So, when I saw Onyx, I knew it was meant to be and I am enjoying every minute of it.

I have loved Mustangs ever since my Dad brought his home. He piqued my interest in all things car related especially those that go FAST! I recently purchased my first Mustang so no real modifications aside from cosmetics.
I have had three Camaros and now I simply wonder why it took me so long to come to the “dark side”. This car makes me remember the times with my Dad and it being a Mach 1 is like a bonus. I got nothing but miles of smiles when I’m behind the wheel.
Modifications are all cosmetic. My first modification if you can call it that was tint for the Texas heat. My husband and I also installed Diode Dynamics side markers and Renegade Euro tail lights.

JUST THE TIP
DID YOU MEASURE THAT RIGHT?
5 liter Coyote, 4.6 liter GTs, 2.4 liter Ecoboost. But wait, 50 years ago there were 302s 351s, 429s, all measured in cubic inches. What’s up with that? Why are cars now using the Metric System as a Unit of Measure as opposed to the Imperial Unit of Measure, but other things do not? You buy a gallon of milk, but a 2 liter bottle of soda. So what gives?
In 1975, the Metric Conversion Act was passed by Congress and was signed into law by President Gerald Ford on December 23, 1975. There are currently 3 countries in the world that DO NOT use the Metric System, and the U.S. is one of them. So there was a push to convert, and a law passed to change the entire measurement system of the United States, hence companies started making all of the required changes. But changing an entire mea-

surement system is not an easy process, especially if you are making vehicles.
When the decision was reversed and the U.S. decided to stay with the Imperial system, many industries basically said “F**k you” to the U.S. government. They had invested too much time and money into a conversion that was required by Federal law at the time and converting everything back would in no way be a good return on investment. So they stayed with the Metric system.
Mechanical parts are typically measured using the Metric system - 75mm throttle body, 3.8 liter supercharger,
etc., but then there are those pieces that are sort of the middle ground. Fuel injectors are a great example. It’s a mechanical part that is moving a liquid, but they are measured in pounds per hour, which of course is the Imperial system. Your tire pressure, supercharger/turbo boost, all rated in Pounds per Square Inch(PSI) – Imperial measurement system.
So while car manufacturers mostly changed to Metric, there are parts and pieces that are not, just to make your life a little more confusing.

This baby comes with a heavy duty range case with a single point bungee sling, two 30 round magazines, and a rear sight adjustment tool.
The best part? Even though she is a semi-auto, she is already designed for a drop, slap, and go MP5 Full Auto Sear package
to be thrown right in with the appropriate paperwork, made for unlimited amounts of money you would like to throw away rattling off range ammo. Regardless, this is still a cool option and this model does accept MP5 hardware like original MP5 30 round magazines.

MY GRANDFATHER WAS MY HERO AND WAS LOVED BY EVERYONE.
When I was young, my grandfather would always have me sit with him and watch black and white World War II documentaries. He told me that he was in Europe during the war and that was about the extent of it.
Europe, was assigned to the 67th Tactical Recon Group that outfitted Spitfires and P-51 Mustangs with surveillance equipment to do clandestine missions, saw every inch of Europe during World War II by being a part of the Red Ball Express, survived the Battle of the Bulge and Operation Bodenplatte when the Germans attacked his Airfield on New Year’s Day, liberated one of the oldest concentration camps in Germany called Buchenwald, and was a soldier of the “Fighting” 2487th Quartermaster Truck Company (Aviation).
A few months ago I started to research his history and wrote a book about it. In the end, I found out that my grandfather was a bonafide war hero. In every sense of the word, he was a man that did more in his lifetime than most of us could do in multiple lifetimes. When my grandfather would tell me that he was in the Army and he drove truck, what he was really telling me was that he crossed the Atlantic Ocean being chased by a German submarine and lost them in a Hurricane, was at the largest seaborne invasion in human history and stormed Normandy at Omaha Beach, helped build the first Airfield in France paving the way for the Allied Forces to free
