I joined the Army in 2008. I got stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington, where I was with 2nd Infantry Division 296bsb. I deployed to Iraq in late 2009, spent one year there, got back to Washington in late 2010, and immediately started training for the next deployment to Afghanistan in late 2011 where I was attached to 1/14 Cavalry Unit. I got out in May 2015. I joined the military because I love my country and was proud to serve. After leaving the military, I struggled with being a civilian.
