MAGAZINE

Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride!

TALKING WITH TJ

As we begin our journey into the descent of madness that is my mind and the crazy antics of my life, I would like to first introduce myself. My name is TJ, blah blah blah, that sums it up and all you need to know. Whew… got past the CRAP no one cares about! Now for the good stuff.

Mustang culture is one that is very unique and brings together people from all walks of life. One thing is for sure though, the STANG Mag crew isn’t your typical crew. We are a bunch of weirdos, oddballs, and outcasts. We party hard and live by our ride or die motto and have adventures like no other.

From partying in various spots all over the U.S., to touring some of America’s most haunted sites, to having my ass spanked by a beautiful Latina in Las Vegas in front of a restaurant packed full of guests (and owning it), it’s never a dull moment! All I can say is... strap in, rev the shit out of your motor, and let’s go!

ANGRY ORCHARD

Lately I have been thinking about our old STANG Magazine adventures. Over the years, we have done a lot of cool stuff and I thought it would be fun to highlight some of our most favorite trips. One of the first ones that come to mind is our cruise and weekend going to Angry Orchard. Our trip to Angry Orchard Cider House was a truly special event. Angry Orchard Cider House is located in Walden, New York. The drive is very beautiful and scenic to the Angry Orchard Cider House, with nice, green country views full of trees.

First up on the tour was the Barrel Room, which is where the huge barrels are located that ferments the Cider. The Barrel Room was cool, as it was completely made from dark wooden boards, very rustic looking.

Second stop, there was also a Treehouse built on grounds for tours. This was a huge tree house and the cool part is there are live taps inside the tree house. Here the tour guides showed us how

to drink the Cider and how aerating the cider changes the taste. I never thought or knew that aerating changes the taste, but sure enough it did. Needless to say, the fellas and duddettes of STANG Magazine was perplexed and amazed. How was this possible. We also got to sample each of the different ciders, which was all good. I think the green apple was the best, although I am biased because I like green apples.

given the nickname “Click” since he was taking snap shots through the whole tour and his camera kept clicking. Well, the tour guide got tired of listening to the clicking noise, so he looked at Joerg and said “hey Click”. As you know photographers really get into their work, so if can you imagine as we are walking through the apple orchard, Click is under the trees or to the side of the tree, just popping in and out for the perfect picture.

On the Orchard walk tour, we got to see Angry Orchards 60-acre orchard. It was very cool seeing all the apple trees ad the various processes they used to grow and harvest the apples.

LADIES OF ALL OVER CAN SHARE OUR PASSION TOGETHER...

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

I started my Mustang passion at age of 17 when I got my first 1989 5.0 Mustang Convertible. I had several throughout my 20s and 30s but then had to let it go to raise my children. My son bought his first Mustang and then kept telling me to get myself another one. I didn’t think it would be possible and I was blessed to get a 2017 Mustang GT. Over the last few years I took a stock car and have made it into my dream car. There is nothing like the feeling I get when behind the wheel driving her and all the people giving compliments on something I built. I now have a Ladies of Mustangs group where us ladies of all over can share our passion together as women.

List of mods include Vortech supercharger, VIS racing terminator carbon hood, Street aero rear diffuser, BBK long tubes, Borla Atak with x-pipe, Vega modified front lip, Nitto tires, STR racing rims, wheel hop kit, wicker bill wing, Eibach sportline springs, MGW shifter, and Vengeance clutch.

WE ARE A MUSTANG FAMILY FOREVER.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

My passion for performance vehicles started at a young age just like most others. My love for Mustangs has grown immensely over the past two decades as I have had the opportunity to be a part of several builds working in the Ford service industry. I have been a loyal Ford guy since I started at my first dealership at 20 years old. I had plans to order the 2021 Mach 1 for my 40th birthday. A few days before my wife’s birthday, this stock 2020 Mustang GT Performance Package 2 came through my service department with 5k miles on it. It was love at first sight. Although it was seven months before my birthday and just a few days before hers, it took zero convincing when my wife saw it. She loves this car as much as I do. The magnetic color and rumble of the engine is where the name Dragoh originated. It reminded my wife of a fierce, fire-breathing beast, the dragon. Although it sleeps in the garage, we spend quite a bit of time driving it. I have always said I wouldn’t let it sit, it was meant to be driven. My oldest son fell in love with Mustangs as a teenager. It was a proud moment as he joined me as a Mustang owner when he bought his first car on his own. We travel to car shows together and talk about the next steps for our cars. We are a Mustang family forever.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I’ve always been a car enthusiast ever since I was little and now I’m old enough to share my build with others and bring joy to everyone. I love seeing all the smiles my car brings, and I love all the videos/pictures I get sent at car meets and events!

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I got my Mustang back in Junior year of high school, and back then it was nothing but a completely stock, blank canvas. Over the past four years, I’ve completely transformed the build and gained a big following. I appreciate all my sponsors and supporters and am glad I could share the journey. From my first set of wheels, to my supercharger install, it’s been a lot of fun and I look forward to the future of the build.

Mods include Vortech supercharger, Airlift Performance 3P air suspension kit, Cervini 4” cowl hood, Forgestar D5 beadlocks and D5 fronts, and JusttheDipz P40 Warhawk livery.

I HAVE ALWAYS HAD AN AFFINITY FOR THE OLD MUSTANGS...

A brief history of my Mustang obsession. It was 1976 when the Mustang became a part of my life, in particular, a 1966 coupe. In 1979, it was stored during my USAF assignment in Germany. In 1982, I drove it to North Dakota where I would finish my four year commitment to the USAF.

I then sold it and purchased another 1966 coupe. I drove this Mustang from North Dakota to Anchorage, Alaska. In 2010, I purchased a 1965 coupe, sold it, and purchased the car I have today, a 1966 coupe. See the pattern?

I have always had an affinity for the old Mustangs but appreciate and admire the newer generations and history of the Mustang.

The STANG Magazine organization has afforded me the opportunity to continue my passion and meet people with the same passion for the Mustang. STANG Magazine brings people together and the events it sponsors are nothing short of great fun and fellowship.

New or old, the Mustang has a long history of being one of

the best and most popular sportscars in the world.

My Mustang obsession started early. After seeing and hearing all the Foxbodys in High School I knew my first car was going to be a Mustang. It didn’t start out as I had hoped, the first one was a bit on the rough side. But I’ve had a Mustang as a daily driver or a project ever since. Around 45 or so in total. I’m surprised my wife puts up with me.

I’d always wanted a SALEEN, but they were usually out of my reach when I was younger. But after every different Mustang imaginable over the years, I came across this one at just the right time. And although it’s just a 2 Valve currently, just as it left SALEEN, it’s getting a 4 Valve swap with boost in the future!

It is SALEEN #1996-0021 and equipped with headers with off road H pipe and Flowmasters, aluminum driveshaft, 3.55 gears, Maximum Motorsports tubular K member, control arms, front Bilsteins with MM coil overs, Maximum Motorsports rear lower adjustable ride height control arms,

This automatic C Code GT/CS left the factory March 26th, 1968 and was purchased from Santa Monica Ford. Except for a paint change from original Lime Gold, it’s 100% stock.

I wanted a California Special for as long as I can remember and connected with the outstanding folks in the GT/CS owners club in 2020. I traveled to Washington State to purchase it from a club member in 2021 and have done some minor upgrades since (electrical and fuel systems).

SHELBY - 1965 MUSTANG

WE CRIED TOGETHER.

My first car was a 1972 Ford Mustang Coupe and since then I’ve always wanted to restore a Mustang. I’ve looked at many cars over the years, but it was either too much mechanical or too much body work needed to make it “mine”. In 2019 a friend shared a Facebook Marketplace post about a “Mustang For Sale”. When I saw the pictures posted I thought “No Way that can be brought back to life”. The first time I went to look at the car was on Valentines Day and thought it had potential, and thought I was crazy for taking on a complete restoration project. It was a one owner car and the lady had gotten it as a college graduation present from her dad in 1965. The lady’s name is Shelby. She shared pictures of the car when she got married, when her husband left for the service in the late 60s, and her children in the back seat headed for vacation to California. The car still had the original keys, title, owner’s manual, tire jack and tire tool. On the second trip to look at the car Shelby told me there was one condition that she would sell the car to me. When the car was restored, she wanted me to take her for a ride in it. I made that promise to her and brought the car home on my birthday.

paint was used. The interior consists of dark blue carpet, dash pad, and package tray. The seats, headliner, and door panels are the original color white. Several new chrome pieces were replaced along with new bumpers. The only glass replaced was the front windshield. I made the choice to upgrade to disc brakes, therefore getting 5 lug wheels and bigger tires.

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

On December 4, 2021, I drove to Joplin and met Shelby to take her for a ride! She had recently lost her husband, but when I gave her a replica die cast of the car as a remembrance of those years with her family, we cried together. She was happy and grateful that I kept my promise to her.

I know my project isn’t a Shelby Mustang, but she will always be “Shelby” to me.

I began the demolition process, bagging and tagging all the parts for future use and had help with the engine and transmission removal. The restoration company finally came and hauled her away from my garage to their garage. Let me say the next year was very stressful. I was successful in finding, selecting, and purchasing all the parts needed to complete the vision in my head of what this car once looked like. I wanted the car to be as original as possible. The original 6-cylinder engine and automatic transmission were rebuilt. Of course, the original color Caspian Blue

In March of 2023, I purchased a 2021 White Mustang Ecoboost as my daily driver. With having the ‘04 GT Convertible as my play car, I wanted something that I enjoyed driving but got better gas mileage.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. What caught my eye with the Mustang was the show stopper red interior that the car had. It also included Recaro seats for both the driver and passenger. The Ecoboost came with no side emblems. I knew from the beginning what I wanted on the side of my Mustang. I wanted a custom made STANG Magazine logo emblem. I contacted a manufacturer and they were able to make a set for me.

I then added black racing stripes on the hood and trunk and outlined them with a red pinstripe. I found Mach 1 side stripes and put those on as well.

I have not done any mods to the engine other than replacing the fuse box lid and putting a race red cover over the coolant tank.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

My Mustang obsession started out like a lot of others. My dad owned a 1969 Mach 1 when I was born. We spent a lot of time Friday and Saturday nights in the early 80s cruising the streets of Modesto, California. Fast forward to 1993 when I was a Senior in high school and purchased my first Mustang. I was hooked. I have owned 12 Mustangs over the years, but this 2016 Ecoboost Mustang is by far my favorite.

I purchased the Ecoboost in September of 2015 and immediately installed an aftermarket intercooler and an E30 tune. I went straight out to Centerville Dragway and ripped off 7.70s in the 1/8 mile. The car stayed in this configuration until I threw a rod in December of 2018. I messed around with a couple of local shops to get a new engine installed, but both of those attempts ended in disaster. In 2021, I shipped my car out to Engineered Motorsport Solutions in Rogersville, TN and let Jessie Ringley and his crew get my car back on the road. He built a pretty stout 2.3 liter engine and turbo combo using a Precision 6266 turbo. With Ryan Martin handling the tuning via a Cobb Accessport, the car dynoed at 641HP and 550TQ.

I drove the car 3.5 hours from Rogersville, TN to Kentucky Dragway in Clay City, KY where it went 11.07 at 124 mph on its first pass. I then drove it 11 hours back home to Russellville, AR that night. That is a huge testament to Jessie Ringley’s ability to build a stout engine and Ryan Martin’s ability to tune the heck out of it. They knocked it out of the park.

Here is the combo that EMS put together. EMS Long Block,

I was lucky. Even before I had my driver’s licence, my dad had the chance to buy a car from a friend. So, my first car was a 2012 Mustang GT California special. I drove that for a couple of years until it started having some problems. I was then given the chance to drive my mom’s Camaro SS while we worked on fixing the Mustang. Unfortunately, a distracted driver pulled out in front of me and totaled the Camaro. Luckily, no one was injured seriously, but I was stuck without a car.

After some thought, my dad took me to the dealership where we were looking into our options. I wasn’t looking for anything fancy but when I saw the 2020 RTR Mustang series 1, I fell in love! I agreed to sell my other Mustang that was giving me problems to be able to get this amazing car. I loved the sound of the RTR and everything about it. However, I had some ideas on making this car uniquely mine and boy did I ever! Let’s say it is just too much to list.

After doing all of this work, I started taking my car to events where I could meet other car fanatics. At one event at Circuit of the Americas I got the chance of a lifetime!

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I got to meet Vaughn Gitten Jr. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to get to spend some time with him and his team at several more events. I even got to ride along on a drift with Vaughn on my birthday at SEMA in Las Vegas! I am amazed at the kindness and professionalism displayed by everyone I’ve met on the RTR team. They instantly made me feel like part of the RTR family. Since then, I have started taking some drifting courses and having a blast learning!

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

I am so fortunate to drive such an amazing car as my daily driver. My Mustang RTR catches attention wherever it goes and it has opened the doors to some amazing friendships with those I have met along the way. I am passionate about sharing this great experience with others and if you ever see me at a car show, don’t be afraid to come and introduce yourself. Special thanks to Just The Dipz for the design.

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

THE FUSION OF POWER, PRECISION, AND DESIGN IN THE GT500 LEAVES AN INDELIBLE MARK...

Since my first encounter with a 1999 Mustang, a flame ignited within me, and I have since been captivated by the power, elegance, and unmistakable roar of these iconic American muscle cars. Owning a 1999 model was just the beginning of an exhilarating journey that would shape my passion for Mustangs. From there, I eventually transitioned to a Race Red 2018 GT350, relishing every moment of that flat plane crank V8.

However, my devotion to the Mustang lineage didn’t stop there. Recently, I made a bold leap and upgraded to a 2021 CFTP GT500, embodying the pinnacle of Ford Performance engineering. This automotive masterpiece boasts an awe-inspiring 760 horsepower supercharged engine. The fusion of power, precision, and design in the GT500 leaves an indelible mark on my heart, as it represents the epitome of Mustang’s evolution.

To enhance my Mustang’s allure and protect its pristine

condition, I’ve invested in various modifications. A full PPF film shields the body from potential blemishes, while the ceramic coating amplifies its gloss and resilience. Carbon fiber side splitters and front wickers not only enhance the car’s aerodynamics but also infuse a touch of aggressive sophistication. The SPE carbon fiber intake unlocks 40 additional horsepower, further elevating the car’s performance. Painted rad bar, Shelby dress-up parts, tinted windows, and a carbon fiber center console. And to capture every breathtaking moment on the road, I’ve equipped my Mustang with a Blackvue dashcam, preserving memories and providing an added layer of security.

“JUST THE TIP

MORE THAN CARS AND TRUCKS?

If you’re reading this, it’s probably because you’re like the rest of us, and love Mustangs. I mean who doesn’t? And if you love Mustangs, you’re probably also a fan of Ford in general. And while we all know Ford for their cars and trucks, their history is quite interesting in that they involved in and built all kinds of other vehicles. Would you believe airplanes and Jeeps?

Aircraft – Ford rarely gets mentioned in the history of aviation. But there are still a handful of Ford Tri-Motor aircraft, most in static displays in museums, that remain. While Henry Ford did not design the planes himself, he invested heavily in the Stout Metal Airplane Company, owned by William B. Stout. In 1925, they even created Ford Airport near their headquarters in Dearborn, MI and at the time was praised as one of the best in the world. Henry Ford recognized the potential of commercial aviation, and the

Stout Airplane Co. became a division of Ford Motor Co.

Of course Ford had an engine plant for its cars, so it also produced almost 4,000 8 and 12 cylinder engines to support the war effort during World War 1.

Jeeps – So they’re not a ‘Jeep’ as we know it today. While the origin of ‘Jeep’ is still up for debate, the presiding theory is from the jeeps of World War 2. These vehicles were labeled as ‘GP’ for ‘General Purpose’. Sort of like ‘Uncle Sam’ coming from packages and cargo be shipped to the military that were labeled ‘US’. And to support the war effort, many automotive manufacturers were making

‘GP’ vehicles. Ford included, pushing out an astonishing 277,000 vehicles. Not too shabby.

We could go on, but just be known that Ford has been involved in a lot different markets and ventures. Just not cars and trucks. They’re not a 1 trick Pony (get it?). Maybe next time we’ll talk about their relationship to Kingsford charcoal, and how Henry Ford helped make your backyard BBQ’s a success!
