I bought my 2008 Mustang GT/CS five years ago. She was all original at the time and I have since given her a nice face lift. First thing I did was replace the exhaust with a Borla Cat-Back ATAK exhaust system and a Roush Cold Air Intake. Then she got new kicks... Bullitt Motorsport Gloss Black offset wheels 18x10 inch and the back and 18x9 in the front. I also replaced the old halogen headlights with nice bright LEDs with a halo ring and her taillights with a sequential plug and play kit. Then I added a Silverhorse honeycomb lower racing grille for a nice finished look. Also, the Drake Billet aluminum hood pins and Shelby quarter window panels pulled it all together. Last update was the blackout window tint, 2% on the rear window and 5% on the windshield and side windows. She looks amazing!

enough to have had some signatures added to my baby. I’ve owned Mustangs since I could drive essentially. I grew up around Mustangs and classics as my grandpa had a shop he always had some classic car up there and my parents always had old Fords. As a kid I always loved looking at and viewing old cars. Also as a kid seeing all these custom and restored cars I had a dream of building my own custom and unique Mustang or car. Mustangs have always been a dream of mine and I’ve loved them no matter what the engine or styling. With the 05 body I can put my dreams of that classic look of the 60s Mustang I’ve dreamed about into a modern twist vision with the S197 or as in my view, my vision of a custom retro package.

Hi there my name is Terri and I live in Oregon. This is my

events! 2005and Mustang GT. I have owned Sally for just over two years now and I have loved every minute of it. My husband and myself both own Mustangs and we love cruising them together on the weekends. Shortly after the purchase of Sally, I was introduced to The Northwest Mustang Club and am now a proud Vice President of the club. I found the best group of people to do what I love... cruise my Mustang! Sally has a 5 speed manual transmission, Hurst short shifter, cold air intake, Pypes x-pipe loudmouth exhaust with cat and muffler delete, and a SCT race tune. She has a GT500 hood and rear spoiler, Bullitt gas lid, 2013-14 tail lights, front chin spoiler, and 19” SVC wheels.

When Ford came out with the 2011 Mustang GT, this body style reminded me more of the old Fastbacks, which I loved! I had to get one! After hearing of transmission issues with the 2011s, I didn’t want to take a chance and I waited for the 2012s to come out and see if the “bugs” were worked out. I found a 2012 Kona Blue Mustang GT Premium, of course a manual. ARE YOU FRAMING ME?

S T A N G

Last month we looked at the Fox Body Mustang, and why it’s a Fox? Turns out it’s not the body, but the frame that it’s built on (the Fox frame/chassis). We also mentioned that it was a classic Uni-body design, and I’m sure

we’ve all heard the term Uni-body (or Unit-body) at some point, so what is it that you may ask.

Uni-body cars, sometimes referred to as Unit-body, is a name derived from the original name of Unitized Body which started becoming popular as far back as 1934. Many people think of the frame or chassis of a car as being two steel beams running down both sides of the vehicle, that the body of the car sits on top of, known as ‘Body-on-frame’. And that was the case in the early days of cars and can still be seen in many heavy duty truck applications. But the Unitized body design revolutionized

Now, let’s get the LOWDOWN on this badass toy coming straight from the infamous Longquan Forge. The first master swordsmith of Longquan was thought to be Master Ou. When he settled in the mountains of Longquan, China in the Zhejiang Province over 2,500 years ago, rumors spread that the waters of the nearby river contained unique minerals that reacted with the blade’s metal when quenched to enhance its resilience and strength. The Longquan swords that Master Ou forged became the basis for other swordsmiths throughout China, and soon their knowledge passed to Japanese smiths on the nearby archipelago. As a true fan of history, the samurai, and of authentic weapons, I ventured to have one made at one of the oldest sword forges on the planet. Yes, straight from Longquan. This beau-
