MAGAZINE
Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride!

TALKING WITH TJ
As we begin our journey into the descent of madness that is my mind and the crazy antics of my life, I would like to first introduce myself. My name is TJ, blah blah blah, that sums it up and all you need to know. Whew… got past the CRAP no one cares about! Now for the good stuff.
Mustang culture is one that is very unique and brings together people from all walks of life. One thing is for sure though, the STANG Mag crew isn’t your typical crew. We are a bunch of weirdos, oddballs, and outcasts. We party hard and live by our ride or die motto and have adventures like no other.
From partying in various spots all over the U.S., to touring some of America’s most haunted sites, to having my ass spanked by a beautiful Latina in Las Vegas in front of a restaurant packed full of guests (and owning it), it’s never a dull moment! All I can say is... strap in, rev the shit out of your motor, and let’s go!
ANGRY ORCHARD
Lately I have been thinking about our old STANG Magazine adventures. Over the years, we have done a lot of cool stuff and I thought it would be fun to highlight some of our most favorite trips. One of the first ones that come to mind is our cruise and weekend going to Angry Orchard. Our trip to Angry Orchard Cider House was a truly special event. Angry Orchard Cider House is located in Walden, New York. The drive is very beautiful and scenic to the Angry Orchard Cider House, with nice, green country views full of trees.
First up on the tour was the Barrel Room, which is where the huge barrels are located that ferments the Cider. The Barrel Room was cool, as it was completely made from dark wooden boards, very rustic looking.
Second stop, there was also a Treehouse built on grounds for tours. This was a huge tree house and the cool part is there are live taps inside the tree house. Here the tour guides showed us how

to drink the Cider and how aerating the cider changes the taste. I never thought or knew that aerating changes the taste, but sure enough it did. Needless to say, the fellas and duddettes of STANG Magazine was perplexed and amazed. How was this possible. We also got to sample each of the different ciders, which was all good. I think the green apple was the best, although I am biased because I like green apples.
given the nickname “Click” since he was taking snap shots through the whole tour and his camera kept clicking. Well, the tour guide got tired of listening to the clicking noise, so he looked at Joerg and said “hey Click”. As you know photographers really get into their work, so if can you imagine as we are walking through the apple orchard, Click is under the trees or to the side of the tree, just popping in and out for the perfect picture.
On the Orchard walk tour, we got to see Angry Orchards 60-acre orchard. It was very cool seeing all the apple trees ad the various processes they used to grow and harvest the apples.

When we were ready to purchase a car, we had must-have criteria for the newer Mustang post 2010. We wanted a vehicle with a V8, manual transmission, and a convertible top. We wanted the car to have many aftermarket parts available so that we could customize the car. After completing our search, we decided to purchase a 2011 Mustang. We knew we had found our car when we drove from Portland to Salem, Oregon to see Cali, after my wife and I completed the test drive. True to form, my wife was curious about what the car could do and got the attention of the local police. We agreed that this was our car and drove it home that night. A few months later, one of our neighbors saw the car and told us about the limited production of the car. After researching and learning more about the California package, we changed our minds about modifying the car to document and preserve it.
Cali is a Ford Mustang Red Candy convertible with the 402A California Special Package number 29 of 229 made in 2011. The package includes a unique chrome billet grille with a body-matched surround and Tri-Bar Pony Badge. My passion for Mustangs started back when I was 19 years old. My father brought home a 2005 Screaming Yellow Mustang GT. When I first saw it I fell in love with that body style and knew I had to buy one.
After a few months I brought home my first Mustang. It was a 2006 Vista Blue V6 Mustang. After driving that for four years, it was time to upgrade so I traded that car in on my current car now which is a 2008 Dark Candy Apple Red Mustang GT/CS.
I have owned this car for 11 years now and every time I get in the driver’s seat I’m at ease. This car has given me unlimited smiles per gallon!

Nothing says Mustang like starting from stock and building your car the way you want it, Especially making it a special edition tribute to something we all love... RACING! I bought my 2014 Race Red V6 Mustang on July 19, 2014 with a sticker price of $30,275. It came just plain red. No stripes or anything. And that is where I started.

THEY SAID THE CAR WOULD BE THE INHERITANCE...
Growing up I was always a GM girl and loved my 1960 Chevy Impala Convertible the best! My children liked all vehicles and we had a 1978 and a 1988 Mustang. The 78 unfortunately had a head-on collision, but the 88 my son still has in Florida. I was hoping to get another Impala Convertible, but they never came out with them and what was coming out I didn’t like! In 2004 my brother, who worked for a Ford Dealership in California, asked me if I was still interested in a convertible and told me that Ford was going retro to 1967! He sent me a picture and I fell in love! I was a single parent with three children, so I asked them if it was okay to get the car or the inheritance. They said the car would be the inheritance and since I had given so much up for them, they told me to get the car! And so it began! We watched my car go from a thought to when it was on its way to Sunshine Ford in Newburgh as a courtesy delivery! She arrived in Newburgh the Monday after Mother’s Day (5/8/05). I have all the papers from the beginning! I’ve been told the book is worth more than the car! My 2005 Mustang GT Convertible is called FloMax (after my mom and dad - Flo & Max).

Eventually we put the C stripes on and a little engine dress, but otherwise she’s stock! I try to take her to at least one Mustang Club of America’s National/Grand National Car Show annually. I need 1 point (she has 19 points and needs 20) and I’ll have my Red Medallion! Hoping to get that in September at the Grand National in Melbourne, Florida.

The first thing we did was the light bar (like a roll bar but with lights). Then, because it didn’t sound like a Mustang, we put Flowmasters on! Doing a parade, the VIP sat on the top and screwed up the motor and had to have a new top put on and they scratched and dented the car! So I had to go to a repair shop to get it fixed and decided to do racing stripes too!

My love of Mustangs started with Saturday shopping trips with my Mom in her built 1990 5.0 Convertible. While my Dad’s 1967 California Special Clone Mustang was the first Mustang I ever rode in, my Mom’s car was the one I remember inspiring the want to own one myself.
My first Mustang, a 2000 GT Spring Edition was built for Drag Racing. While I kept “Betsy” for over a decade and 280k miles, I sold her to get a family car… always waiting to drive another one. In 2019, I became the proud owner of a 2020 GT/CS in the same paint scheme as my first GT. This time around, I would focus on building a Track/Autocross car. The Ford Track handling kit gave the car improved stability on the course and greatly reduced body roll. We added a larger race radiator to keep the temperatures down and a Roush Cold Air Intake to bring in more air flow with a few more Steeda parts to assist “stopping the hop”.
While my husband and I continue to add more to the build list, I want to keep this car just as must fun as I remember my

This is Havoc II, a 2020 Mustang GT California Special. It is fully speced out in Iconic Silver with Red accents, heated and air conditioned seats, heated steering wheel, digital dash cluster, and active exhaust with resonator delete with H pipe. Being a California Special, I don’t want to do anything to it that can’t be put back to original so the engine is stock. It has a 10R80 10 speed automatic transmission, SVE SP2 Gloss Graphite wheels 19x10 wrapped in 285/35/19 Nitto 555 G2 tires in front and 19x11 wrapped in 305/35/19 Nitto 555 G2 tires in rear, Cervini Cobra R hood, and I removed the black GT/CS mid door stripe to be replaced with a red GT/CS on the front fender. I bought this beautiful Mustang in September of 2019 with 42 miles. I have put a lot of sweat and time into making this awesome car into what it is today. With only 7800 miles and four years later I am still not done. This car has the name Psycho Mistress because my wife says I spend most of my time and money on my car than I do on her.

I have had many Mustangs in my life from the Foxbodys, 1986 and 1991, to my 2013 S197, to the 2016 S550, and now the 2019 S550.
Thanks to my loving wife and awesome daughter for allowing me to buy the car that I will never sell. I have done a lot of custom body modifications including paint, wheels and tires, GT500 hood, loud exhaust, and hopefully a procharger coming this winter.
As a kid in high school I always wanted a Mustang and now as an adult I have had the luxury of owning a few.

My Stang The Red Baron is, so far, the last of many...
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. My obsession started shortly after my 10th birthday, while driving to the bowling alley with my sister. I looked up and saw a new billboard. There it was, bigger than life... the new MUSTANG by Ford. I knew right then I would have one of those cars someday. I wasn’t wrong. I’ve had several Mustangs since I’ve been old enough to drive. Over the years, my love for them has only grown.
Presently I am the proud owner of the Red Baron, a 2019 Race Red GT/CS Convertible. I named it after the WWI German Fighter Pilot Ace. I have always had an interest in him and read a lot about his history. Red car, it just seemed to fit, ya know?
Modifications include rear spoiler with gurney flap, light bar, shifter knob, tail light covers, front wings, hood scoop, hood vents, hood stripes, hood struts, strut tower covers, dash kit, emblems, and decals. All of the mods were done by my wife Joanie and myself. I have shown her the joys of modifications and now she’s adding stuff to her new Bronco Sport.

My Mustang is a 1999, 4.6l V8 Convertible (SN95) and I call it the Red Pearl. It was put into circulation on 01.01.1999. First he drove for a while in the United States and then he was imported by a man from Switzerland. An elderly lady then bought it to enjoy her retirement but passed away shortly after. Her husband couldn’t keep it out of grief, so he sold it to a colleague. This he drove for a while until he unfortunately had to sell it for health reasons. That’s when I saw it and had to buy it!
I’ve only owned it for three years now. I bought it with 42,000 miles. He was always in the garage and drove only about three times in the rain. He’s also a member of the Mustang Club of Switzerland and we’ve enjoyed many trips together.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. Everything is in original condition except for the headlights and spacers on rear axle. This SN95 still looks fresh out of the showroom after 23 years! I love my Mustang and take great care of it! It will be cleaned after every exit.
This model has the 35th Anniversary emblems on the side, which all had 1999 in the first few months. But it’s not the rare 35th Anniversary model. The side stripes, the Mach 460, and the white Mustang writing on the rear bumper were probably installed by Don Gasgarth’s Garage in Charlotte County before the initial sale in 1999 (as was the sticker from the garage on the tailgate).
This package is special. It has a Laser Red tinted clearcoat, the 17” 5 spoke wheels, a white roof and white seats, and the mach 460 sound system (hence the stickers on the front lower part of the doors).
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.
I’ve been a big car fan since I was little. I tore out the eyes of the dolls and played with small model cars. I couldn’t live without an engine! That’s why I also learned to be a car mechanic, now however chauffeur. I’ve been in the club three years and I love all Mustang models. My dream is to own a red 1969 Convertible V8.

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.
I LOVE THE LOOK ON PEOPLE’S FACES WHEN THEY SEE MY CAR OUT AND ABOUT...
The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!
I purchased this car in February 2022 after spending a few months searching online for the perfect one. It was already set up with the black rear wing, gloss black wheels and the black c-stripes. I have only added the gloss black louvers to the side rear windows. With the majority of the striping down the sides, I have been reluctant as yet to add any other striping (down the bonnet or roof). I feel that it looks pretty good as it is. Mechanically, there have been no modifications since I bought it. I am taking my time with this and doing my due diligence.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
I have always loved the Mustang look. It wasn’t until a chance outing where I was taken out for a drive in an R-Spec and then drove a Mustang for a few laps around a race track that I knew I had to have one. I love the looks on people’s faces when they see my car out and about, and getting out with the local Mustang owner’s club for a bit of a gallop.
Members of the STANG Mag family are more passionate about fun and inclusion than they are their cars and that says a lot! I can’t wait to see what’s to come in 2022!

“Thunderhorse” is my 2014 Ford Mustang GT California Special Premium Convertible 5.0 6-Speed. This rare color is certified Number One (#1) of only 14 convertibles manufactured in “Gotta Have It Green”!
Located near Charlotte, NC in the small Town of Waxhaw, I purchased this in 2019 and am the second owner of this beauty. I have kept it completely stock, with the exception of my custom shift knob, custom “Horse Horn”, engine caps, and some badging. I love to take it on cruises with my wife and our local car club members.

WICKED BLUE WAS MY FIRST MUSTANG...

My name is Preston Freeman and this was my 2013 Mustang GT, nicknamed Wicked Blue. Wicked Blue was my first Mustang and not only my first, but he was my best friend.
My mom always had Mustangs growing up and the day came for me to get one. I didn’t plan on it but once I saw him I knew this is the car for me. We had so much fun and I put so much work into him.
Then one night I was on my way home and a lady ran a stop sign in front of me and I hit her totalling my pride and joy that I worked so hard for. There will never be another Wicked Blue. I now have a 2019 GT but he can’t take the place of Wicked.

“JUST THE TIP
MORE THAN CARS AND TRUCKS?
If you’re reading this, it’s probably because you’re like the rest of us, and love Mustangs. I mean who doesn’t? And if you love Mustangs, you’re probably also a fan of Ford in general. And while we all know Ford for their cars and trucks, their history is quite interesting in that they involved in and built all kinds of other vehicles. Would you believe airplanes and Jeeps?
Aircraft – Ford rarely gets mentioned in the history of aviation. But there are still a handful of Ford Tri-Motor aircraft, most in static displays in museums, that remain. While Henry Ford did not design the planes himself, he invested heavily in the Stout Metal Airplane Company, owned by William B. Stout. In 1925, they even created Ford Airport near their headquarters in Dearborn, MI and at the time was praised as one of the best in the world. Henry Ford recognized the potential of commercial aviation, and the

Stout Airplane Co. became a division of Ford Motor Co.
Of course Ford had an engine plant for its cars, so it also produced almost 4,000 8 and 12 cylinder engines to support the war effort during World War 1.
Jeeps – So they’re not a ‘Jeep’ as we know it today. While the origin of ‘Jeep’ is still up for debate, the presiding theory is from the jeeps of World War 2. These vehicles were labeled as ‘GP’ for ‘General Purpose’. Sort of like ‘Uncle Sam’ coming from packages and cargo be shipped to the military that were labeled ‘US’. And to support the war effort, many automotive manufacturers were making
‘GP’ vehicles. Ford included, pushing out an astonishing 277,000 vehicles. Not too shabby.
We could go on, but just be known that Ford has been involved in a lot different markets and ventures. Just not cars and trucks. They’re not a 1 trick Pony (get it?). Maybe next time we’ll talk about their relationship to Kingsford charcoal, and how Henry Ford helped make your backyard BBQ’s a success!
