Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride!

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

My name is Dee Norman and this is my very first Mustang ever. My late husband and I ordered her back just before the pandemic really hit (early 2020). The car was for me, as my husbandmGreg, felt I deserved to have a nice car after working so hard to achieve my career goals. I’ve been a Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology for 17 years now. Previously an ICU nurse for 15 years. It took about 8 months for the car to arrive, but the wait was worth it. Unfortunately, Greg passed away a month after I got the car.

Last year, after much coaxing from a coworker that races, I took her to the Las Vegas Speedway for the first time with Speed Ventures. It was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time! I was hooked! Now, I am currently participating in the High Performance Driving Experience (HPDE) with Nasa Utah or Nasa SoCal (National Auto Sports Association) with the goal of getting into either time trials or actual racing.

She is so much fun to drive!! She’s called Daisy Duke because that’s a nickname my siblings have given me (also, she’s orange like the General Lee).

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

BTW, I’m 59 years old. Never thought I’d be doing this at my age, or ever! Thanks to my daddy for the love of fast cars!

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

This is Deathstroke. It is an 09 Mustang GT in Grabber Orange with a glass top. To my knowledge, there was only 3,089 glass tops made that year. 2009 was the first year that Ford come out with the glass tops. Only 68 Mustang GTs that year were Grabber Orange.

My wife and I have been obsessed with Mustangs since we were kids. I mean they are the longest running production muscle car. There is no greater feeling than being on a curvy mountain road with windows down, listening to the exhaust. Mods include 18” Bullitt deep dish rims with Mickey Thompson street comps, 3” Tru Fiber cowl induction hood, and SVT turner side and rear window louvers.

IN THE FOUR YEARS I HAVE HAD THIS CAR, I HAVE HAD A LOT OF WINS.

This is my 2015 Mustang GT with Performance Pack. It’s a daily driver! As of now I have 82,000 miles on it. The color is Competition Orange. I am also a member of the Competition Orange Mustang Registry.

The engine is stock except for a Airaid cold air intake. I have added GT 350 replica wheels 20”, carbon fiber hood vents, side scoops, drilled and slotted rotors, and jacking rails. A black spoiler was also installed. I did the orange vinyl work on the interior and all the paint in the engine compartment.

My Mustang fever was caught from my father who’s first car was a 1968 GT350. He loved that car. My first was a 6 cylinder Foxbody and I still love all Mustangs old and new. I take my car to car shows every other weekend. In the four years I have had this car, I have had a lot of wins. My wall is full of trophies and plaques. Nothing like driving a Mustang!

WITHIN 24 HOURS I WAS THE PROUD OWNER...

I’m Brandy and I have owned Helios a year now and I’m just as obsessed if not more obsessed than the day I bought him. Truth is I never really saw myself in a Competition Orange GT. I always liked the 2004 Comp Orange Cobras but I’m more of a black paint or Dark Shadow Gray gal. The moment I drove by the lot and my eyes locked in on Helios I had to have him. I was meeting my husband to eat and the first thing I said was well I found my Mustang. Within 24 hours I was the proud owner of this 2015 PP1 and the obsession began and so did the customization.

First I had to order some engine upgrades and make the engine bay look custom. I actually painted all the parts myself and even took a wire brush to remove the red lettering on my chrome caps and painted those Competition Orange. I changed out the front grille, had a custom splitter made to fit the PP1. I have redone so much to Helios and he’s one of a kind. I had him repainted and I redid the interior stitching on the seats orange and the dash. I still have a list of things I would like to add to him but are cars ever truly finished? I’m looking forward to hopefully taking him on his and my first trip to Myrtle Beach Mustang week this year!

MARCEL - 2007 MUSTANG GT

Marcel is a 2007 Mustang GT, also known as the O7BOSS. Marcel is named in memory of his original owner, Marcel Roth. Marcel had owned a 1970 BOSS 302 decades past, and when he bought this 2007 his vision was to create a modern day BOSS.

Marcel sadly passed in 2012, and the car was lovingly cared for by his brother, my uncle, until I acquired it in late 2021. I consider it an honor to watch over Marcel, take him to car shows, and keep the spirit of this car alive. I hope to keep it in the family, as it has been, for many more years to come.

Notable modifications include a Whipple supercharger, full header and exhaust kit, Eibach springs, rear and side louvers, updated side and tail lights, the signature 20” Kragar S/S wheels, and of course the one of a kind custom paint job. Marcel can be found on Instagram @the.07.boss.

IT WAS IN A MUSUEM IN CALIFORNIA WITH ONLY 632 MILES ON THE CAR.

I have been looking for a Shelby GT for over two years, searching every day and also searching Ebay for any rare parts I could buy for the car that I knew I would eventually get to own. I had a few thousand dollars in rare parts for a car I didn’t even own yet. My family thought I was a little crazy but I knew one day my dream car would come my way.

Then in 2019 while searching online, I came across one of the rarest Shelby GT-C Mustangs, with only 215 of these cars ever made in Grabber Orange with Silver stripes. It was in a museum in California with only 632 miles on the car. I called them up right away and said I have to buy your car. After convincing them I was not a tire kicker, I wired them the money and the car was mine. I want to thank my daughter Deanna Courchane for inspiring me to never give up on my dream! She isn’t even a car person but she knows how much joy this car has brought us all.

We took the Shelby, #113 out of 215 ever built, to the For The Love Of Shelby Car Show and we won Best in Class. We have won two years in a row now and I was lucky enough

to have Gary Patterson at the show. He is the President of Shelby American. He jumped in my car and autographed it. Now my rare Shelby has Gary Patterson and Carroll Shelby autographs.

FORD AND SHELBY AUTOMOBILES, INC. AGREED TO PRODUCE 215 GRABBER ORANGE COUPES THAT HAVE THE GT-C DESIGNATION.

The Southern California Ford Dealers requested a 2008 “California Edition” Shelby GT Mustang. Ford and Shelby Automobiles, Inc. agreed to produce 215 Grabber Orange coupes that have the GT-C designation.

The 2008 Shelby GTs were based on the 2006 Hertz Shelby Mustang configuration. All of the 215 cars were delivered to Shelby Automobile assembly building in Las Vegas, NV to await their conversion. The visual upgrades were identical to the Shelby GT except for the GT-C door sill plates and Carroll Shelby signature.

I purchased the car in February 2008 and it has seen lots of car shows and meets. Many people fall in love with its striking color, its Carroll Shelby heritage, and its limited-edition credentials.

Modifications include billet cup holder trim, billet parking brake handle, billet map light accent, billet Shelby GT engine caps, billet strut tower bolt covers, and Red Line hood struts.

I picked this up in 2016 from a buy here pay here lot in Lansing, MI. At firsst glance, it’s a bone stock 2004 V6 5 speed Mustang that had a few Roush pieces on it. I asked the salesman if it was real. I told him I was buying it either way. He says “Ok, I think it’s fake.” I drove it home. The next week I called Roush in Livonia, MI and ran the VIN. IT’S REAL!

It’s a 2004 Roush custom. 1 of 1 in this color. It only came as a cosmetic package. It came with Roush badges on fenders and trunk, Roush windshield banner, Roush instrument cluster, Roush shifter with knob and boot, Roush door sill plates, Roush stripes, Roush floor mats, Roush aluminum pedals, GT hood upgrade, and Bullitt wheels. The Bullitt wheels, Roush floor mats, and windshield banner was gone when I bought it.

My first upgrade was a dual exhaust... Off-road Pypes x-pipe back to 40s flowmasters, CAI, and a Bama tune. It sounds amazing! I’m always having to pop the hood because nobody believes it’s a 6 cly. From the original 192hp it might be 210hp now. Then I added rear louvers, side quarter window scoops, tinted the windows, found some 99-04 Roush wheels, new windshield banner, Roush front bumper and rear wing. Next plans are body and paint. Rebuilding the engine and supercharger. I love this car. It is slow for now but a very fun car. I drive it everywhere.

“Tangelo” is our 1987 Foxbody GT 5.0. My first Foxbody was a white 1983 GT and I had it all through high school and believe me there was always something to do. I have had numerous cars throughout my life, but my memories with my Fox always come out on top. I didn’t have my own garage to work in with my first Fox but I new that when I did, another Fox was coming home. I purchased “Tangelo” in 2019. When I saw her, I knew she was coming home. All of my Mustang memories came flooding back while driving her home that first time.

I look forward to anytime I can bring her out for a cruise. I know “Tangelo” inside and out. When she is all cleaned up, she shines like a pretty penny under the sun. As with my prior Foxbody, I am always finding something to do. My wish list for “Tangelo” is always growing. I don’t think you are ever truly done with a Foxbody; there is always something to add or improve on. I have no plans to get rid of “Tangelo”. I plan on driving her for as long as I can since there is always somewhere to go. “Tangelo” has brought us a lot of great friends. The Mustang community is a very special group of people. Everybody takes pride in their cars as well as the fellow Mustang owners.

“Tangelo” is basically stock except for a built Ford Performance 306. Other work has been done but it is all behind the scenes that only I know about.

MY DAD TAUGHT ME HOW TO DRIVE MANUAL SHIFT IN HIS 1968 MUSTANG AND I WAS HOOKED.

I fell in love with Mustangs in 1975. When I was 12, my dad taught me how to drive manual shift in his 1968 Mustang and I was hooked.

This is Tiger Lily, my 2019 Mustang GT in Orange Fury Metallic tri-coat. It has a 6-speed manual shift and the black accent package so that the roof, wheels, spoiler, and all ponies are black. I added the hood decals, hood struts, strut brace, chrome strut caps, and K&N cold air intake. I have a few more mods in mind for the future.

I belong to the Mustang Mamas and MMO (Muscle Mustangs of Ohio).

TRIK OR TREAT - 2007 MUSTANG GT

IT STANDS AS A SYMBOL OF HAPPINESS AND INDIVIDUALITY.

In September 2006, my Mustang ownership journey began with an excited call from my dad: “You won’t believe this - there’s an Orange Mustang Convertible at Northport Ford.” Having always shared my dream of owning one with him, emphasizing the specific shade of orange to symbolize my Halloween birthday, I promptly went to see it. A few days later, it graced my driveway, brought to reality by the unwavering support of my wonderful mother.

I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

Staying true to my tradition, I sought out uniqueness. In 2007, I ordered the OEM GT500 front end and commissioned custom airbrushed emblems. This was succeeded by custom-painted wheels and dash panels painted to match the car in 2008. Its moniker, “Trik or Treat,” transcends Halloween; it’s a tribute to a friend’s automotive customization shop and a nod to a few cars I previously owned. Across seventeen years and a mere 7,000 miles, the car metamorphosed into a treasury of cherished memories, its importance deepening after my mother’s passing in 2008. With my father now gone, I reflect on that phone call and relish the enthusiasm he conveyed to have me see the car. To me, it stands as a symbol of happiness and individuality, reflecting qualities that I strive to uphold in my daily life.

Other mods not mentioned include OEM GT500 spoiler, custom stereo, and color-matched engine bay components and brake calipers.
